I've been on this site for years but my 'searches' amount to the same poor IT software. The swop software programming is not up to scratch, offering minimal options. I've given many ideas to the team about improving that have been ignored, with no feedback. It looks as if they don't really care.

Crap website. Can’t Search easily. It’s all really hard work, not easy like houseexchange .
Can’t believe I paid for this .

I am writing to express my frustration with Homeswapper. It has been almost 2 months since we submitted our application for a home exchange. Despite our urgent need for this exchange, the process has been unnecessarily complicated.
We were promised that everything would be finalized by the deadline of 29/03/2025, and now, as of today, 31/03/2025, that deadline has passed without any communication from the company. I took the initiative to email them this morning, but I have yet to receive a response.
I also called over an hour after the initial email, and while I was told someone would get back to me, I am still waiting for that call. This lack of communication and follow-through is unacceptable. I have all the screenshots of the defined deadlines, emails, and call logs to back up my claims.
I hope this review helps others consider their options before engaging with Homeswapper.

to your reply:
Hi,
Thank you so much for the good clarification. Now that I received your reply, I just contacted L&Q and was told to wait 10 minutes to see what the issue is. They confirmed that you are right; it is not HomeSwapper's responsibility. Initially, they tried to blame the other mutual exchange landlord, but I explained that their landlord had contacted me two weeks ago and said everything from their end had been completed. They then changed their explanation, stating that they had just finished things an hour ago.
This situation is incredibly frustrating. It should be a straightforward process, but unfortunately, when your landlord intentionally complicates matters, it becomes difficult to resolve. It feels like this is beyond our control, which is quite shameful.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Best regards,
Mohsen

Omg this site is frustrating’ they don’t even match you correctly’ after tickings all the box’s relevant to your needs your matched with a property that’s totally not for you ‘ and why bother matching you with properties that are only a 60% match to what your looking for out of the 100%’ omg it’s obvious do your maths Homeswapper no one will be eligible for a swap at this rate 🙄.

10 weeks I've been waiting for a move through homeswapper, the 2 accounts can not be linked, my landlord can't link them and homeswapper are useless the app is poor. Been told a move will not go ahead until the 2 accounts have been linked a full complaint has gone in to homeswapper stupid app unreliable so much easier doing an exchange the paper way.

Rubbish site….. Facebook and Gumtree, etc., or even eBay, are better than this homeswapper. I can't believe this site is still trading, wtaf, it's awful. I've done a few swaps over the years on different sites because it's terrible, but I thought I would give homeswapper another go what aload of rubbish yet again! it's so bad lol I will stick to other sites where it's also free and more people use them than this old school Hank homeswapper lol 😂....
Wish I could give zero star 😞..,

I'd like to start by saying I'm a software developer, and I have to say your website is complete and utter junk... Quite often when I attempt to log in, I randomly get an incorrect password error... The password is saved from when it was changed and I logged in!!! because guess what? It keeps randomly giving me an incorrect password error... So I received a new message email an hour ago, I try to login, incorrect password... so I try again, a second time... incorrect password, fine that's 2 times if you can count, so I request a password reset: Oops, please correct the following before continuing:
Your account is blocked... I receive an email stating that I have guessed my password wrong 5 times huh??? I tried twice not 5 times, wow you must hire monkeys as programmers, frustrating don't even bother, crap site, go with GlassBob, never an issue with login...

Update May 2025: Is it me? Every time I request photos I get told basically not interested and time and time again I try very hard not to get sarky when reminding people of multiswaps. I know you are not interested in my property! I’m not gonna be able to move at this rate😕 This website becomes increasingly frustrating. Do people want to move? You get no response back half the time and when you ask for photos they say not looking for a two bed or wrong area. Hello? Multiswaps?! So many without photos and when there are they are not helpful. People contact you to say are you interested in their property and it clearly states on your profile what you are interested in. Why would I want to move to Basingstoke? Its not on my wish list! I have had a match for 100% in some cases and they turn around and say not interested. Some people actually don’t know what kind of property they have as well like the difference between a semi detached and a terrace. Sometimes you get one saying a house and its a flat! On occasions you are in the middle of looking at properties and you either have to reinstate what you are looking for or it bombs you out! It would also be useful if you could filter per landlord name not just your current one or a group. Been on here months and still no luck. How many people have actually been successful?

Terrible. Can't log in for ages. Been changing the password over and over again. Is this app working at all? Don't bother people!

DO NOT USE is my advice. Two years payment and no joy. Really bad system which doesn’t hold all your information. Means every time you search you have to input what features you require

Used Homeswapper for years as it’s the official site for exchanges but the site is glitchy ,always one issue or another , can’t add enough photos and then you can’t enlarge them , photos come out any which way up the site wants with no proper instruction of how to upload them correctly , this website has not improved in the last 10 years or so I have used , they should also have a section where you can view all ‘NO SWAP REQUIRED ‘ together in one place . Disappointing website with no improvements over the years .

This is a fraudulent company, been taking my money. When I made a complaint to them they said they had refunded me. I have not received a refund, when I contacted again they were rude and said give then 5 days to refund, nothing refunded. They emailed to say refund was made but it hasn't. Stay away from them waste of money and time, no one has swapped through this company 😳😳

Went on to register. Got a message from Homeswapper to say that my landlord had refused my request to join Homeswapper. Rubbish. Phoned landlord and they have never refused. Homeswapper wanted me to pay to be on site. I did message them to say my landlord never refused but never got a reply.

This website is a waste of time. I have been on there trying to swap to a better area since 2016.

Home swapper helped me swap into a better home. Thanks home swapper.

Do people want to move? Or is this site about people who are mentally ill and just want to be a voyeur? People don't give a damn about my mental welfare as they casually say yes and then drop me at the eleventh hour with no consideration of the trauma that this behaviour causes. I wanted to get away from my home because of a troublesome neighbour. I've been on this site for so long now and messed about again and again, that the neighbour has died. Your site is rubbish and a lazy way for landlords to dump tenants on so they don't have to do any work. Human contact is better than some rubbish site where people should be serious about moving OR CLEAR OFF.
