In the past my experiences of using HT have been generally good. However this time not so much. I used 'click and collect' to order: I don't know what the name of this particular service is, but it's not click and collect - I phoned after a couple of days when I hadn't had notification my online order was ready, only to be told I needed to come in, collect a chit from the office, go to the yard, have my order prepared, load up my car, then return to the office with the chit. I wasted two days waiting before having to go through the usual purchase process anyway. I wish they'd said in the first place.

I hope I'm wrong about this part: my wife (female) went to complete the order because I couldn't anymore (reference the wasted 2 days), and she returned home with PSE wood that was damaged along one edge. The 2m lengths I'd ordered were also slightly short of this length by about 0.5mm, and there was a significant amount of cupping on one of the PSE lengths. This sort of thing has never happened when I've (male) been to the yard.

There is too much walking back and fourth. As a disabled person there is no consideration for us. The product was good at a good price.

Reasonable price and they couldn't have been more helpful. They cut the wood to the length we needed.

Ordered a ton of limestone chippings - at a very competitive price - and it was delivered next day! Well pleased! Good service and very pleasant to deal with.

Ordered from them as local and a good price - they aren’t properly set up yet as this is a new depot. I was disappointed by the attitude of the staff , I went 1st time and I was informed that the wood was not going to fit in my car by a seemingly very helpful member of staff who was on ‘on his lunch break’. I arranged with him to return with my roof rack on my car to collect it in two hours - he said it would be ready for me. I arrived on time to find him ‘on his lunch break’ at 2.30pm and I’d have to find someone else to sort it out. I found two people in the storage area who also do any really want to help - but eventually did as they had no other option as I wasn’t leaving, I needed the sheet to be cut into two pieces for transportation. I all my 2nd visit took 3/4 hours - all waiting for staff - who seemingly had little else to do

Ordered fence timber online and there was a problem of not having the correct items in stock. However... I was called and informed that my order was upgraded and delivered in the timeframe given. Bob and the delivery driver were very helpful & polite and are a credit to the company 😃

Extremely expensive compared to my local supplier and the wood i purchased (feather edge) was poor quality but i had no choice as i needed the wood on a Saturday and my usual supplier was closed

We recently had our shower room enlarged and made level access for my husband who has mobility problems. Our builder deals with Howarth Timber at Grimsby and arranged for Kerry - their Bathroom Design Specialist- to come to measure up and start the design process. She very quickly understood what we wanted, and helped me to choose the right fixtures and fittings to achieve not only a very practical use of the available space, but also a spa like finish which is what we wanted. Howarth’s have a large brochure with all the available stock to choose from which was very helpful - it means you can sit in the comfort of home and make your choices without being rushed. From start to finish it was an enjoyable process, Kerry could not have been more helpful, deliveries arrived on time and the overall experience was excellent. We will definitely use the company again for our next project.

Good quality and quick delivery at a very reasonable cost

Great price on garden sleepers, and excellent top soil quality. Fast delivery too. The driver was super helpful at the point of delivery as well.
