We instructed Leah Moore (Bridgend Office) in relation to a sale and purchase, with the latter containing some complicated title defects. Leah was very patient and took the time to explain the defects and the implications these would have as the seller's were unwilling to remedy them, providing clear and straightforward advice. Whilst we did not proceed to exchange, Leah and her wider team were always very helpful, personable and professional whenever we liased with them on both our sale and purchase. Would highly recommend.

I have been waiting over 6 months just to actually hear from a solicitor in relation to our case after initial contact and paperwork and when asked for updates so far have just been told we will be contacted for updates, with absolutely no progress and nothing happening. Very poor start but hoping to have my mind changed as it progresses.

Amazing communication and so polite and understanding. Quick and efficient. Susanna, Josh and Antonia were all amazing and so helpful. First house purchase and it couldn’t have go any smoother, would 100% recommend and use again!

Most conveyancers are slow but this is a new low in addition to the terrible communication and repeated mistakes i'm surprised to find anything over 1 star. Maybe its workload or something else but its been horrendous.
My buyer is a first time buyer in no chain about to hit the 20th week, average of 9days to reply to emails and half the questions are repeated.
Then when their client flags the issue they pass him around and cant give a straight answer.
100% will avoid.

I would recommend and use them again.

Me and my partner were first time buyers and Howells were very good and accommodating to us. When we were confused on certain things (especially the legal lingo), Sophie Bartlett was great in explaining things to us and moving things along quickly. One thing which was great about Jane’s team and especially Sophie, was the updates we’d get. Even if it was just the smallest thing, keeping that communication kept us at ease. I would definitely recommend going through Howells and recommend choosing Jane Davies-Hannen’s team, thank you for everything!

An excellent service was provided for the sale of a property. The initial appointment forms were simple and easy to understand. All the documents were issued promptly and once we returned them they were forwarded immediately. E-mails were answered within a few minutes (unlike some other companies that sometimes take days). Lucy Florence was particularly helpful in dealing with queries. We would have no hesitation in recommending Howells Solicitors.

Let me tell you how god awful, lazy, complacent and unhelpful this company are. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone they are slow and have been managing an easy purchase which has somehow taken 6 months! The solicitor decided to go on holiday for 2 weeks but not tell anyone or pass any info on. There are some good reviews on here but you’ll probably end up having a horrendous time like us. I’ll be making a formal complaint that’s for sure. Useless.

Dont bother using these for med neg cases .Staff are rude & dont listen to a word you say and if you want statistics about the company they dont appear to have any what a joke !Med neg appears to be the biggest scam out there these companies run up bills from your pain then claim them through insurance and the victim leaves without a penny very ethicial dont you think ........Always ask for the statistics first !

Howells have been acting on behalf of our buyers on a property that we accepted an offer on in May 2024. Howells have been extremely poor throughout the process, which is still not completed in May 2025, one year later. The purchase has been passed onto to multiple different solicitors to deal with, they have made repeated mistakes and taken excessively long periods of time to respond which has delayed the whole process. I would not use Howells to purchase or sell a property.

We used Howells solicitors when purchasing our new home. From the very beginning they were very supportive. Whenever we had a query, however big or small, there was always someone available to answer which always put our minds at ease.
