Although generally good they are pretty unresponsive
Although ICarhire is generally very good I tried to extend the area of coverage and sent them a message but have received zero response. I have checked my junk folder…nothing. I am abroad and telephoning them is difficult so not pleased.
In response to the reply from Icarhire....I used the contact form on their webpage! Never mind, I will try the telephone when I return to the UK.

I’ve had a policy for around 4 years when I had to claim I thought here we go there’s no way they will pay out. They did and were very efficient, and as long as your paperwork is in order they pay you no problem.

The admin around purchasing the product was excellent, obviously a product is only excellent if it delivers in monetary terms should I ever need it. Thankfully to date I haven't needed it to psy out and hopefully never will.

Satisfied customer - Car Hire Excess Insurance
I bought annual Car Hire Excess Insurance. The process was easy, I found the website a bliss to navigate and also easy to find necessary information about the policy. Price is just unbeatable compared to the excess cover one pays to car hire companies when renting a car.
This is the second time I purchased this policy as it worked well years ago. I had a claim then which was paid without much hassle.
A note indirectly related to iCarhireinsurance is that in my experience, if I chose not to buy the excess cover directly from the car rental company, then they tend to claim some damage was caused by me regardless if it is true. To avoid this, be thorough checking the car for damages when picking it up. Make sure they are all recorded on the contract you have with the car hire company and take photos as well before you accept the car.

We’ve been buying car hire excess from this company for a few years now, fortunately we’ve had to make no claims, but buying the service is so quick and easy, and there’s an option to auto renew if that’s what the customer wants.
