Good riddance IiNet
Was with IiNet for approximately 12 months tried on numerous occasions to work with them to improve their service. Biggest problem drop outs and slow connection to the point of being unusable and yes I have nbn. Finally gave up after a few changes of modem and in what appears to be an act of pure spite IiNet remotely disabled the modem even though I do not need to return it for 2 weeks
Never again IiNet! Good riddance
Leaving iiNet after nearly 28…
I have been with iiNet for nearly 28 years. They used to be a great company when they were based in Perth. Service was excellent. Even when they outsourced their Call Centre to South Africa their service was great. It all went down hill when they moved the Call Centre from South Africa.
My relationship with iiNet ended today.
I moved house 9 weeks ago and am still without internet. The standard answer I received was "we are working on the issue as we speak". iiNet was unable to tell me when the problem would be solved. I was told someone would be calling to explain. Never received a phone call. I followed up weekly. A week ago when I followed up again nothing had changed except this time they tried to get rid of me. I was told we can cancel your service if you like. Obviously I was placed into the "too hard basket". It was easier to try and get me to go away. The 27 years that I had been a loyal customer with them did not matter. iiNet was happily deducting monthly subscription fees yet not providing a service. In addition I had other subscriptions that were deducted monthly but I could not use because of no internet connection.
If you are thinking of joining iiNet please don't. Their service has become shockingly poor. Lots of promises and no follow up/ follow through.
I went to Telstra today and half an hr later my problem was solved. I have internet again after 9 weeks. Don't waste your money with iiNet
Iinet phone coverage bad toolbox useless
Iinet use Vodafone, after Vodafone said they'd increased their coverage by 50% I thought I'd give Iinet/Vodafone a try. Big surprise the coverage is still lousy even in outer suburbs of Perth and extremely sketchy heading toward Margaret River region. Nothing like being in the back blocks and having the data drop out and therefore Google maps. Iinet toolbox is next to useless, at times takes 5 minutes to log in and much longer to get to my daughters settings, I use this every night and morning to turn their data off/on. If I had a dollar for every time I thought the data was off and it was still on (because I selected it off and didn't wait 5 minutes for the page to refresh) I'd be a rich man

3weeks after paying for new connection…
3weeks after paying for new connection fee still no internet. Keep getting told 24-48 hours. No communication from them at all. Tried their router, brought my own. Keeps "esculating" but there is nothing. Their support is useless in communication

Can not cancel iinet business account
After 12 years with iinet business I called September 26 to cancel my account. Received another invoice 23 October which indicated my account had not been cancelled. Called iinet business on October 24 to find out why my account had not be canceled. Was told account would now be canceled. October 29 call from iinet requesting more information so account could be cancelled. Told them I had requested cancellation on September 26 and had provided all of the information they wanted. Continued to charge me. Absolutely dreadful customer service or just delay cancelation to increase cash flow. Don't sign up with iinet business.
Frustratingly annoying
Frustratingly annoying - but cheap.
Horrible service - but cheap.
Always cuts out of service - but cheap.

Absolutely not worth it - but cheap.
Took a month of payment after i had cancelled - theft
The WORST telecom provider I have ever…
The WORST telecom provider I have ever had. Sometimes my data would drain in minutes with no obvious reasons and iiNet would never rectify the issue. Data usage information never updated regularly but data would cut out punctually when my allowance was expended. Go figure. When I desperately wanted to disconnect I wasn't able to without refusing customer services pleas to stay multiple times.
Ongoing Internet Issues and Poor…
Ongoing Internet Issues and Poor Service Experience (Account ID ending 69289)
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I have received from iiNet over the past two months. I have been a loyal iiNet customer for several years and recently transferred my service after moving to Glen Waverley. Unfortunately, from the very first day, I have been experiencing continuous internet dropouts.
I contacted iiNet several times for troubleshooting, but the issue could not be resolved. Each time, I was transferred between different departments for nearly 45 minutes, without a clear solution. This continued for several days, and despite multiple call-outs over nearly six weeks, there was still no resolution. The issue was suspected to be with NBN.
At one point, I was advised by iiNet staff to stay home for an urgent NBN technician visit. I took leave from work to accommodate this, but no one arrived. When I followed up, I was informed that the booking had not been confirmed — which resulted in a complete waste of my time and leave.
I have logged several calls and references regarding this issue, including:
August 11 – Ref: 492657656
August 14 – Ref: 492657656
September – Ref: 493905935
October 6 – Ref: 49481077
After nearly eight weeks, an iiNet technician finally identified that the problem was with the NBN box. A replacement was arranged through NBN, and the technician attended last week to replace the box. While the internet initially appeared to work, a speed test the following day showed only 20 Mbps, far below the expected speed.
When I contacted iiNet again, I was told my modem was offline and that the issue would be escalated to Level 2 support. I was promised a callback, but to date, I have not received one.
To make matters worse, iiNet has continued to charge me $159 via direct debit during this entire period, despite the service not being functional. This entire experience has been extremely disappointing and time-consuming.

Worst ISP ever encountered.
Internet went out on Monday evening. Attempted to call their “24/7” support to never get any help. Called the next day and was on the phone for hours attempting all manners of troubleshooting. Nothing worked, so their solution was to mail a new modem. Arriving Friday. In the meantime we borrowed a modem from a friend and tested it. Internet still didn’t work. Tried contacting their “24/7” support again. Sat on hold for an hour with no response. Absolutely baffling how incompetent and pathetic this company is. Would never recommend.

10+ year customer and treated like this?!
My family have been customers for 10+ years. In February of 2024, my vulnerable mom was upgraded from fibre to a 5G connection by the team at IINET…. Since, we’ve had horrific internet… 10-20 dropouts most days ranging from a few seconds to 5+ hours. even though our connection from device to router always showed full connection (3/3 bars), we have terrible speeds. We are on the 50mbps/16mbps plan, and average at 22mbps/0.2mbps. We are a 2 person household with no gaming or 4K streaming. After 3 attempts to call yesterday, I went through the “new potential customer” number and was answered almost immediately. Funny, that. Pretended to be a new customer, asked if I could sign up to the 5G plan, they searched my address and said no.. it isn’t available at my residence. In actuality, vodaphone doesn’t service my residence indoors either in regards to 5g…. So they in essence scammed my mother for 18 months with no pity. They tried to upsell me a phone plan whilst in this argument with no regard for their unethical decisions and after me bluntly stating that I will be moved to a new provider as their handling of this has been entirely demeaning…. They said “would you like me to transfer you to cancellations?”. IINET = SCAM????

IINet have lost their way
I have been with IINet (formerly Netspace) for 15+ years. The assistance call centre used to be in South Africa and was good quality. Service centre has been downgraded to a cheaper called centre in Asia. All new call centre can do is read from a script and try to upsell - not at all helpful.
I'm out! Never again.
Six months of slow internet
Six months of slow internet. Was moved to iiNet from internode without notice. Double charged. Had to call daily to get technician booked. They disconnected my internet. Worst company I have ever dealt with your problems never get fixed. No idea how they are still operating.
Impressed: excellent customer service…
Surprisingly excellent customer service -- I am used to internet providers having bad service but this was excellent. I phoned last night and they were efficient and helpful, set up an nbn tech to come a few days later -- tech called EARLY and said he could come today if I wanted. Yes please: came and was very efficient and now my internet is working less than 24 hours after my call. Surprised and pleased, good one iinet and Canberra NBN team!
I have been with Iinet for 25 years…
I have been with Iinet for 25 years once I believed one of the best company in Australia, but now Im sorry to say the worst and probably won't survive- not sure of the power play but some dill decided they make more money from NBN, so get rid of everything else, ended all e-mail services -I lost thousands of emails and contacts - ended Fetch - currently I have no fetch access because they no longer replace the fetch box which has stopped working - unlawful I believe, I purchased about $2000 worth of movies believing I would have my library of favourite movies forever, but no, and the dill thinks I will continue my NBN service with Iinet? Thick as brick, multiple class actions and a mass of bad reviews from dissapoited and upset long term customers like me - I give them 1-2 years before they no longer exist - so think twice before signing up for anything more than 12 months. if at all
Deteriorating service
Have been with IiNet for over 10 years. I have recently noted a deterioration in their service provision. I used to be able to suspend my Internet and mobile service if I went away for a number of months to visit family abroad. Today I was told no suspension available and I would lose my mobile number. So I'm paying for a service I don't need and unable to use for 4 months. I think that is poor. Why change that policy. I will be leaving IiNet.
I’m without internet for two days being…
I’m without internet for two days being calling them no help very rude saying it’s not magically to get your internet back then what help they are giving there customer paying for your internet and you don’t have one
Today I finally broke up with iInet…
Today I finally broke up with iInet after 27 years as a customer. The more corporatized they have become the worse their service is. The final straw was iInet selling my email addresses to a private company and I went from 10 free email accounts to $47 a year for each one. iInet did not reduce their monthly charge despite reducing their service offering.
I called to tell them I was leaving to go to Leaptel and check I would get a refund for the pre paid component of my monthly charge. They seemed delighted I was leaving!!
For the last 3 months speeds have been between 4 and 10 MBps and if you call up they fix it but just for a short while then it goes down again. We often cannot get email let alone stream.
I encourage all existing iInet users to move over to leaptel, it is a simple on line process, much better value and all the staff are based in Australia.
iInet feels like that ex husband you are glad to be rid of
Awful customer service
Awful customer service. Unable to even investigate let alone fix the issue. Rude and unhelpful.
Iinet has stolen my money!!
I cancelled my account in early April 2025, iinet refunded me money. Then on 8th September 2025, they withdrew $461.28 from my account! I view this as theft. Australian privacy laws require companies to securely delete former customer info. I am a pensioner, this fraud has caused me extreme financial and personal harm.

One of the worst companies in business!
One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with — completely lacking in integrity.
My mother-in-law was a loyal broadband customer in Australia for over 15 years. When she moved into aged care and we needed to close her account as part of selling her home, the company made the process unnecessarily difficult and obstructive.
Despite providing clear documentation and being on a rolling contract (which should have been easy to cancel), they continued to withdraw monthly payments and refused to assist us. It was only after we engaged a solicitor — incurring significant time, stress, and financial cost — that they finally relented.
Their behaviour throughout was disgraceful, uncompassionate, and completely unprofessional.
Avoid this company at all costs!!!
