Extremely poor service, broken promises, and no accountability


I ordered insulation boards from this company after being clearly told that orders placed before 11am would be delivered the next day if I paid an £80 delivery charge. I placed my order at 10am and paid the extra fee.
The delivery did not arrive the next day. I had builders on site who were paid but unable to work. After calling the company, I was told they were checking with the depot and that delivery would arrive by the end of the day. It did not.
The same thing happened on day two — no delivery and more money lost in labour costs. On day three, I was told the order would be dispatched within 90 minutes. Once again, nothing arrived.
The delivery finally arrived six days later. Even the delivery driver was surprised, stating the depot is very close to my property.
When I later needed to return boards (which I accept was my error), I was informed I had to buy replacements first and then request a return. Two days later I was told the return would only be accepted with a 20% restocking fee, and I would also need to pay return delivery.
In total, I spent over £500 on materials and incurred additional costs paying builders for several days due to the company’s failure to meet its delivery promise. I requested compensation and received no response.
This is one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the delay in your delivery and the resulting frustration and impact on your project timeline. This was purely down to a simple error with the depot putting the wrong date in the system for delivery.

We acknowledge that we failed to meet the next day delivery promise on this occasion. While we know it cannot recover the cost of your builders time, we can confirm that your next day delivery fee was fully refunded as soon as the delay was identified.

Regarding the return of materials, our records show that some incorrect items were unfortunately ordered in error at the time of purchase. To resolve this, we assisted you in placing a new order for the correct boards. When arranging the return of the original items, we found that the haulage cost for a collection of the incorrect items would have exceeded the value of the products themselves. In an effort to save you money, we suggested a private sale or a self return to the depot, which you decided on a self return.

The 20% restocking fee is a standard requirement from the depot for all returns. We apologize if this, combined with the administrative closing of your ticket after 48 hours of no response, felt like a lack of accountability.

Really great service received

Really great service received! I forgot to select next day delivery and called and spoke to Siobhan at 4pm and she still managed to arrange this for delivery the next day. Great customer service and would highly recommend!

The right insulation for less

Who would have though ordering insulation would be such a headache? Most companies cannot guarantee the brand of insulation and supply whatever they have for that spec, we wanted Celotex. Thankfully Insulation4less actual do supply the brand we wanted and at a very good price. Celotex ordered; Celotex delivered. Simples. Will use again

Made the order online but telephoned to query delivery date, gentleman on the phone (sorry didn't get his name, had an Irish accent) was super helpful, materials delivered 3 days later as promised, top class service

Best prices and an overall great service

I shopped around to get the best price as PIR can be expensive in big quantities. Insulation4Less were the cheapest, included free and fast delivery due to the order size, courier was really helpful unloading the delivery. I'll be using them again for big order before the year is finished, thoroughly recommended.

Next day delivery helped

Genuine Celotex insulation boards arrived the next day, cheapest online for the boards, delivery was the main price but still less overall than elsewhere. I asked for next day delivery which arrived in a City Sprint van so no worries about "could be a 26 ton lorry". The only confusing thing was the checkout which didn't offer next day (although the website said it was eligible). I asked the AI phone bot to transfer me to a real person, who sorted it out with an email link to pay the next day surcharge done over the phone. However due to the speed of delivery, price, genuine materials and (eventually) a v helpful real person Shirley Moloney, I have given 5*

Best Value for Money Cellotex PIR Online.

Ordered a consignment of cellotex from Insulation4less and had need to modify my order. Siobhan, calmly, professionally & efficiently dealt with my order revisions (and with the most wonderful Irish acent, one could listening to all day and never tire of!)
Best value for cellotex I could find online, backed up with top notch service and aftersales service. My order arrived exactly when it was scheduled to and in perfect condiction. Many thanks.

I had a very big project requiring 3700 EcoSlate roof tiles .
I searched the internet and contacted 3 random companies, considering the spend was over £10000 I would have expected a good response. Well I was disappointed only Insulation4 less responded within 24 hours and the support never left .they doubled checked my calculations. I placed the order It arrived swiftly and the product was fantastic..they made a difficult Job that little bit easier.Thank you .

Be warned

So they reply apologise say they will remove the listing for the non existent product- but again they fail to do this - so others can place orders for something that they know they can’t supply and take your money - be warned - you can’t trust them

To explain what happened, the product you ordered is one that we typically stock. However, its immediate availability can vary across our different depots around the country. Because this isn't a high-demand item in all areas, your local depot unfortunately did not have it in stock.

In this situation, the correct procedure is to order the item directly from the manufacturer, which results in a longer lead time than usual.

Where we failed you was in communicating this. Due to an internal error, our system did not correctly flag this extended lead time. This mistake triggered an automated email to you with a much faster, but completely incorrect, delivery window.

We deeply regret this. We know how frustrating it is to arrange for a delivery on one date, only to be told later that it will be much longer. This was our error, and we have reviewed the process that allowed this to happen and have subsequently put a fix in place to avoid this from happening in the future.

We want to be absolutely clear: the product is not "non-existent," and the listing is valid. This was a processing error, not a case of us listing items we know we can't supply. We would never intentionally mislead a customer.

Our team has already processed a full and immediate refund for your order. We are truly sorry for letting you down and for the serious inconvenience this has caused.

Your response is a disgrace and completely twists the facts. The delay had nothing to do with me — it was entirely caused by your incompetent refund process and poor communication. You asked for separate bank details instead of refunding to my payment card, which I provided immediately. Then you went silent for two weeks, ignoring every email, until I chased you again — only then did you suddenly claim you needed an IBAN because you’re not UK-based.

I sent it straight away, yet you still did nothing until I chased you daily for weeks after that. The refund took over a month — an appalling delay for money that was rightfully mine. Blaming me is shameless. Own your failures and stop misleading customers. Your so-called apology is nothing more than PR damage control. I stand by every word of my review.

Update:
For clarity, your response is not accurate. I have the full email trail proving I provided all requested details promptly and then had to chase repeatedly while you failed to respond for weeks. The refund was only issued after almost a month of daily follow-ups.

I’ll be sending all of these emails to Trustpilot for review so the facts can be verified directly. Once that’s done, I’ll post a full description of the entire timeline here for clarity — so readers can see exactly what really happened. The evidence speaks for itself.

We again apologise that part of your order arrived damaged and for the frustration this situation has caused.

For security and regulatory reasons, all refunds must be issued directly to the original method of payment. Your order was paid for via bank transfer, which is why we required your bank account details to process the refund. It is not possible to refund a bank transfer payment to a credit card, as these are separate financial systems. This is a standard practice across all businesses.

Your £24.25 refund was approved on September 2nd. Our records confirm the payment was processed on September 29th, 5 working days after the necessary bank details were provided to our team.

Finally, we want to assure all our customers that we are, and have always been, a UK-based and registered company.

We regret that the process was not straightforward for you, but the refund has been sent and we now consider this matter resolved. We wish you the best.
