Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 29 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people expressed significant dissatisfaction with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to get proper assistance. Furthermore, consumers frequently felt that the high cost of the treatment did not justify the outcome, leading to a perception of wasted money. However, some customers also noted positive outcomes, reporting significantly straighter teeth and improved smiles, often finding the process discreet and comfortable. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the product had quality issues, such as ill-fitting aligners or retainers, or that the treatment did not fully correct their dental issues.

Not impressed

Not impressed as this treatment is quite expensive but the aligners are cheap and nasty. All of them have rough edges and in places they cut into the gumline uncomfortably. I have seen that there are various ways to make the aligners smoother but why should I have to do something that should be handled by Invisalign's manufacturing process.

Invisalign as a company should regulate…

Invisalign as a company should regulate the wording and advertising of their products via local dental practices all claiming to be offering ‘discounts and big savings’
The treatment is a set price and will usually cost from £2,800 - all packages come with scans, retainers and teeth whitening.
Be aware of such false advertising by dental practices, only too keen to get you in the chair before they confirm the ‘true’ costs involved.
I am surprised Invisalign are allowing this to continue however I am sure this is contributing to their increased sales.

Over promise and under deliver

I feel like invisalign is a bit of a con. I looked into it when my wife's friend started treatment as I'd always self-concious about my bottom teeth not being straight. I was quoted £3,000 and shown a 3d representation of the end result of my treatment plan following scanning showing my bottom teeth nice and straight. I went ahead, paid the money and was told the treatment would take 14 weeks. After the 14 weeks my teeth had moved a bit but had not straightened. I went through the scans again and I was given s new 7 week adjusted treatment plan. This adjusted treatment plan didn't really move the teeth at all but at the end of it I was told I had a good result and that this was about the best I could have expected with clear aligners as they can't move the teeth as much or as consistently as traditional braces. This was not discussed with me at all and the images I was shown showed that my teeth would be straightened significantly looking almost perfectly straight. The retainers provided by invisalign at the end of my treatment have allowed one of my middle front teeth to fall back from the position the aligners got it too meaning after £3,000 I am.still self conscious about my teeth and this treatment hasn't delivered much of a material benefit to me. I had crooked front teeth and £3,000 and a lot of effort later (it is an effort to constantly take your aligners in and out just to have something to eat or a cup of tea, brush your teeth all the time and do the chewing exercises. Not to mention endure the pain and discomfort) I still have crooked teeth. Just slightly less crooked teeth. I would not have put myself through the financial, physical and mental stress of this treatment in hindsight and that's why the promises sold at the beginning were simply unacceptable in my view. As an aside my wife's friend is on her 32nd pair of aligners and second payment plan and her teeth are still not straight.

Invisalign journey

I’m incredibly happy with my Invisalign results and would definately recommend Dr Nelson Kernahan at Brynteg dental in Swansea. Nelson was very informative and approachable throughout the whole Invisalign process and answered any questions I had. I told him that my main concern was my overbite and overjet and he made sure that we targeted that area to make sure I was happy with the result. I am now very pleased with my result and can see a huge difference in improvement. It’s the best decision I made and I would also like to credit the dental surgery itself for being very pleasant as all staff were friendly and made me feel at ease.

I have to agree with Louise that is my experience too. They charge the earth but they are absolutely crap with their quality control. Each one was differently finished to the next. Wide gaps where they should be touching the roof of my mouth.
Cutting into where my front lip meets my gum because they make one front tooth too high.
Email them and they don’t respond.
They are terrible I wish I had gone for train tracks.
I making them remake all the next ones and if they don’t fit again they will do them again or give me the whole of my money back.
They should be ashamed of themselves all they do is grab your money!!!

Terrible quality control

My teeth did move, but not quite as promised. Far more worrying was that 2 out of my 15 were so badly finished that they gave me multiple mouth ulcers.
This is terrible quality control for the money they charge. I emailed them - no response - when I emailed again complaining about a complete lack of patient care, they responded saying I should contact my dentist. I pointed out that she didn’t make them - they did. My dentist emailed them and they’ve ignored her too.
These are money grabbing merchants, not interested in quality control, patients, or customer service. Invisalign are being pushed at kids - they’re really not suitable for children. Would not recommend.

Don't feel advised correctly at all..

I feel like everything was so rushed and I wasn't advised correctly through several aspects. I was told at the beginning that if my teeth hadn't moved to the desired places that I may need about three extra trays. At the expected end of the treatment I was given at least ten more trays, I'm not sure how many. Then when you get the impression it's the end...BANG.. you must wear these retainers for 20something hours for THREE MONTHS. So not only did it initially go on longer than expected, then it did again!
I was also told to start whitening a good three months ago. I've still got 1.5 months of retainer wearing left. So I was essentially advised to start whitening too early, which would have wasted the whitening gel as I wouldn't be able to see the effects.
I advised I have a phobia of the dentist yet was given no warning that my teeth would be filed down - they just went in and did it. So that was quite traumatic.
The trays have been very painful at times, causing cuts and sores in my mouth and on my gums.
Most appointments felt extremely rushed.
My teeth are now where I hoped they would be so thankfully the ordeal and high cost wasn't a waste.
I started treatment in Jan 2023 but the trustpilot website won't let me put that date in. I was given the impression treatment would finish December 2023. It's now May 2024 and I'm still wearing my 3 month retainers.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Let me tell you about my experience with Invisalign... a decision that has haunted me for the past two years. Before diving into this dental disaster, I want to make it crystal clear that I was perfectly healthy, both physically and mentally, prior to undergoing this treatment in 2021.

From the moment I embarked on this journey, I should have seen the warning signs. But blinded by the promise of a 'perfect smile', I foolishly ignored the red flags. Little did I know that this decision would lead to a downward spiral of pain and misery.

The first sign that something was terribly wrong emerged when I started experiencing TMJ issues i.e. muscle spasms, clicking, tightness, snapping sounds etc. Before Invisalign, I was blissfully unaware of what TMJ even was. But thanks to this treatment, I now have firsthand experience with the excruciating discomfort it brings. Imagine waking up every morning with a jaw that feels like it's been put through a meat grinder. That's my reality now... all thanks to Invisalign.

And let's talk about the end result – my smile. Oh... how I wish I could turn back time and stick with my natural teeth. Instead of the promised 'straight and perfect smile', I'm left with teeth that are crooked and misaligned. It's as if Invisalign took a wrecking ball to my once beautiful smile and left behind a jumbled mess.

But the nightmare doesn't end there. When I reached out to their consumer care team for help and support, I was met with nothing but indifference and disdain. They couldn't care less about the agony I was enduring or the dissatisfaction with the results. Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they chose to completely cut off all communication... So much for 'Consumer Care'

Invisalign's appalling lack of accountability is truly staggering. It's abundantly clear that they prioritise profit over people, with no regard for the lives they've shattered in the process.

I implore anyone considering Invisalign to proceed with extreme caution. Don't make the same mistake I did. Do your research, read the horror stories, and think long and hard before entrusting your smile to this company. And to Invisalign... SHAME ON YOU for preying on unsuspecting individuals and ruining lives without remorse. You should be held accountable for the pain and suffering you've caused... and I will NOT rest until justice is served!

DO NOT GET INVISALIGN

I regret my decision to get Invisalign. I am only on my second set of retainers, but unless my teeth are 100% perfect at the end, I doubt my opinion will change.
They are so inconvenient! It's not as simple as 'just take them out to eat' and 'you can eat whatever you want' as the advertising would have you believe. Especially trying to fit it in around shift work. You're supposed to keep them in for at least four hours at a time (which I wasn't told about before I got them) which isn't always possible for me - I don't get to chose when I have a meal break at work. You then have to find somewhere to take them off, rush to eat your food (my teeth/gums are tender, so I've had to eat softer food) and brush your teeth almost immediately afterwards and put them back in. Then chew on this thing called a chewie for a few minutes (I wasn't told about this either). Not discreet at all!
My speech has been affected. Invisalign make it sound as though this may be a minor issue and should 'disappear' as you get used to the retainer, but it hasn't for me and is really inconvenient at work!
My first appointment to fit the retainers was painful! The dentist had to fit attachments to my teeth and file between four of them. The dentist never mentioned how awful it would be!
They are definitely not 'invisible'. I've got 18 of the attachments stuck to my teeth so the surface of the retainer is all bumpy and very obvious.
Traditional braces would probably have been a better option.
I'm incredibly disappointed so far - I wish the dentist had talked through all my options first (including not having it done). It's a massive decision to make and once you start treatment, it's not possible to change your mind. I'll update the review when I've finished the treatment. Which might be nine months time, or longer, or sooner.
Update; I'm now on the seventh set of retainer. I have a 'mobile' (loose) tooth and a cracked tooth. DO NOT GET INVISALIGN!

9 months of discomfort for nothing

9 months of discomfort for nothing. Didn't move the offending tooth and actually accelerated gum recession. Not to mention the cost!! £2,500 I'll never get back. Do not trust Invisalign. Nice idea but utter rubbish.

It cost me 6000. Finished the treatment. In under a year I had to replace 2 packs of Invisalign for maintenance because the cracked. They clearly didn’t test these before asking for the ridiculous price. Avoid

Invisalign tooth straightening

I found the treatment painless and easy to do. I felt a bit embarrassed wearing the aligners, they are a bit visible, but a lot of people didn’t notice them. I had no problems with them, no pain, found them easy to put in and take out. I had no tooth decay during the treatment. I am 66 years old. My teeth are now the way I want them and I am glad I had the treatment. I have to wear retainers at nights, but I don’t mind wearing them at all. I know, why I am doing this and I find them quite comfortable

My badly crooked teeth…

I decided to get my badly crooked teeth straightened after years of hating them and hating photos of myself with my crooked smile. This is the best £3000 I've ever spent. I went to Harry at Emsworth Dental Surgery.
From the beginning he was great. It's taken a year and to be honest at the beginning I hated my aligners, I found them difficult to get in and to get out, I broke nails getting them in and out. I found it restricting not being able to eat and drink whenever I wanted to (you can't eat or drink with them in). I lost weight because the aligners were so difficult to get out, so I started skipping meals.
But as time went past and I could see my teeth straightening and I became used to the aligners, they become easier to use and I really began to love the treatment and now a year later, I'm SO delighted by the result that I want to share the experience. If you are thinking about having this done - I say Do IT!!!! It's brilliant.
I'm in my 60's and this has made such a difference to my appearance and now I can't stop smiling.

1 star is generous

1 star is generous, awful company, had my retainers and the results were no where near what they promised. Have constantly been trying to get in touch and no contact for a while. They said I’d get a free set as compensation but since then have had nothing. DO NOT USE - worst company I know.
