I’ve been using IPVanish for a while…

I’ve been using IPVanish for a while now, and it has consistently exceeded my expectations. The sheer scale of their network is impressive; they offer a huge number of IP addresses and a massive selection of servers spread across dozens of cities worldwide. This makes it incredibly easy to find a fast, stable connection no matter where I am or what content I'm trying to access.

The performance is where it really shines for me. It works flawlessly on my PC, with a very intuitive interface that stays connected without drops. Even better, it runs perfectly on my Android box, which is usually where other VPNs struggle with buffering or lag. Whether I'm streaming, browsing, or working, the speeds remain top-notch.

refusal to cancel

After using IP vanish for many years they have bent over backwards to prevent me from cancelling. They are also misrepresenting themselves to my bank, making a charge-back quite difficult.

Go with Proton, it's a much better company and their customer service policies are not predatory.

I tried to get a refund and was…

I tried to get a refund and was rejected and it isn't even 30 days so that 30 day refund policy is bullshit.

Update : I did reach back to them but looks like they still refusing to pay back my refund ...I would stay clear away from this company or whatever ..I'll save you guys the headache...there are other better options out there...please take this advice.

The initial support experience was accusatory and dismissive, so there’s still room for improvement. That said, the service itself works as advertised.

IPVanish cancelled my elderly mother’s account claiming “hundreds of simultaneous connections.” She can barely log into one device.

Either their system is broken or her account was compromised—but instead of investigating, they shut her down and refused to provide real evidence.

No transparency. No accountability. Years of loyalty meant nothing.

Be warned: your account can be terminated without proof—and support won’t help.

Avoid.
Doesn't allow to cancel subscription and despite numerous emails to ipvanish support and calling the UK number (nobody answers) They still took $107.99 out of my account for a renewal.
Now claiming my money back via PayPal.

My membership automatically renewed for…

My membership automatically renewed for $109.99. I called to cancel it and they charged me $31.99 to cancel. Terrible company. My membership started off at $49. After realizing I could not use it on most of my apps I decided not to renew. They charged me $31.99 to to cancel my membership. My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau.

Deceitful conduct for cancellation

Cancelled service, confirmed in writing from IP Vanish, 2024.
Continued to charge credit card, despite written notice they had cancelled and complaints. No response from support.
Lied in bank credit card dispute.
At best, they are so staggeringly incompetent they cannot find a record of cancellation, which unsurprisingly benefits them.

Take them the small claims, folks.

Edit: IPVanish, instead of canned responses; refund the money you unlawfully took from me; and from others. Your own support team and dispute team knows full well exactly which transactions; I am possible to identify from your records, it's trivial for you to resolve or escalate internally and undo the harms you have inflicted.
Your organisation knowing set out to engage in this conduct and have built your entire business model around it.

Scammers.

As other people have reported. Made sure auto renewal was switched off. Even took a screen shot on the phone. Yet they have taken £167.99 from my account. Absolute scammers are no longer replying to me. Tried to cancel the account but comes up contact support which I have tried to yet they don’t reply. Why have you robbed money off of me. Please refund my account and close my account. £167 for a 2 year subscription

Does not work

I haven’t used Ipvanish for long, it used to work, but now don’t work at all, all adult pages of any kind are blocked regardless of what settings are used. In will be cancelling and looking for an alternative as it simply does not work.

I would not recommend IPVanish...

Their service is okay but I believe NordVPN by far has better service, functionality, and features. With that being said I’ve been a loyal IPVanish customer for about nine years, and this is by far the worst customer experience I’ve had with any subscription service.

Before my renewal date, I went into my account and turned off auto-renewal using their toggle switch. Based on that, I had every reason to believe my subscription would not renew. Despite this, I was charged $99 anyway. When I logged back in, the auto-renewal was somehow turned back on.

I immediately contacted customer support and spent a long time going back and forth with multiple agents. Instead of acknowledging the issue, they kept hiding behind their policy and refused to issue a refund. At one point, they even tried to offer partial compensation instead of simply refunding a charge I clearly did not authorize.

This is not just poor customer service, it feels deceptive. A long-time customer disables auto-renewal, still gets charged, is told they’ll get a refund, and then gets bounced between support and PayPal with no resolution.

Loyalty clearly means nothing here. Be very careful with auto-renewal and billing practices, because once they charge you, getting your money back is unnecessarily difficult.

I am currently in the process of disputing my charge through my bank account.

Disgraceful Thieves

At 1st the service was great a bargain for a 2ear subscription at £60 odd and did what it's meant to do. I received emails reminding me that my subscription was up for renewal on 07/04/2026 as I no longer required the service as the price had risen to an amount that I couldn't afford I turned off the auto renewal in my account on the ipvanish website on the 03/04/2026.

The previous payment was set up with PayPal, on the date of the renewal that I had already turned off previously, I received a email that the payment had been taken for the subscription which I had turned off 🤬🤬 I contacted Ipvanish via their contact form as the phone number wasn't recognised about this but did not receive a response.

I raised a dispute via PayPal again to no avail and I have again just emailed them regards, will I get a response?

In my eyes if you cancel the auto renewal prior to the date of renewal should your company be automatically taking these monies, correct me if I'm wrong or is this not fraud.

I don't hold out much hope for my request of a refund but would I use Ipvanish again "Never" would I recommend Ipvanish "No".

I suggest that everyone stears well clear of this company and I will be reporting my issue to the ombudsman to review.

Just an update, I received a response from the Ipvanish customer services to my email regards a refund, I was offered a 76% refund plus to keep thee service, as I no longer wished to use the service anymore I refused and requested a full refund, I am happy to say that I have had my account cancelled and been refunded in full. My initial review was for the lack of contact and due to the issue with the auto renewal process. since receiving contact IPvanish have been responsive and helpful so maybe not such a bad company at all.
IPVanish please sort out the auto renewal issues then the company would not get such bad reviews and probably would go from strength to strength.

Thank you for sorting out my issue and refunding me in full.

Ipvanish has gone downhill fast no support ignoring issues

Ipvanish has gone downhill fast im not the only one that is having issues, they use AI that is useless, I have requested support to contact me 4 times and have heard nothing, they have implemented a always on Threat protection that you are supposed to be able to turn off in the app, even if you turn it off in the app its still runs in the background if you exit it in the taskbar it then turns off your VPN. While its running in the taskbar it blocks access to some accounts IPVANISH was always more expensive than other VPN's but was worth it, this is now no longer true. also their sign in now wants you to login via sso that is an endless loop between the SSO site and my account. I will be cancelling my accont if I can ever find a way to contact them.
