HOWEVER THEY HAD BETTER REFUND MY MONEY AS I AM NOT THE TYPE TO GIVE IN
Still awaiting 6hanging baskets…
Still awaiting 6hanging baskets received two petunia hanging baskets in April why is there such a delay can’t get through on telephone soon it will be too late to appreciate the hanging baskets received jumbo plants that were very small didn’t bother to complain why is there such delay as our local nursery has beautiful hanging baskets all ready to go ver6 disappointing.
I have been waiting for my tomato…
I have been waiting for my tomato plants for
weeks I have contacted them twice but no reply
I have now given up and brought some plants from local nursery
Terrible Service
Waited over 6 weeks for some of my mega and jumbo plants. They were very small, some arrived battered, only half were plantable. The mystery pack arrived a few days ago, 48 of the smallest plugs I’ve ever seen. Were these sent as some kind of joke as they won’t be flowering anytime this year!! Am awaiting an email asking for refund. They should not have accepted new orders if they couldn’t keep up with the demand during the coronavirus outbreak. Will never use again!
Jersey Plants, Never Again!
This was the first time that I have purchased my bedding plants online. Normally I get them from the likes of DIY stores, supermarkets etc, but due to coronovirus, I felt that it would be an unnecessary risk to visit such places. Therefore, I decided that I would give Jersey Plants a try.
Normally I would buy around 140 plants to fill the 4 beds which I have in my front garden. This would normally cost me about £35 from the likes of DIY stores. providing I spend sensibly and go for the larger multi-packs etc.
Jersey plants are certainly not a cheap option, especially if you go for their "jumbo ready plants", which incidentally are still much smaller than what you get from DIY stores. The term "Jumbo" is a bit misleading to say the least.
Therefore, in order to keep the cost down to somewhere close to what I would normally spend, I plumped for the following:
24 "Jumbo" Geranium Plants for £14.99
70 "ready" Petunia Plants for £17.99
70 "ready" Begonia Plants for £16.99
A total cost of £49.97. A fair bit more than I would normally spend, but at least I was going to get 164 bedding plants delivered to my door.
Maybe somewhat naively, I expected all my plants to arrive at the same time to save on postage. Wrong! The "Jumbo" Geraniums were first to arrive. They arrived on May 8th. Packed in an appropriately sized cardboard box with air bubble material inside to keep the plants in place. Quite a few of the plants had become dislodged from their cells in the tray, but most were OK and the ones which were dislodged were recoverable. The compost had completely dried out, but again was recoverable. I should add that these "Jumbo Plants" were about half the size of the average which you get from DIY stores and about 4 times the price.
Next to arrive were the petunias. This time, the packaging was better as only one of the plants had become dislodged. However, the thing that struck me most at this point is how small they were. Now I wasn't expecting huge (having already seen the "Jumbos") but I was expecting them to be at least half the size of the "Jumbos". These are called "Ready Plants" after all. But "ready for what" I asked myself, the BIN? These so called "ready plants" are clearly meant to be grown-on and for a considerable amount of time, even though Jersey Plants clearly state on their website that they can be planted straight out as long there is no longer a risk of frost and that the plants have been hardened off properly.
Well I had no choice, I was going to have to plant them straight into my beds, as I had neither the equipment or the facility to grow-on 164 plants. And anyway, I wanted to have a bedding display this summer, not sometime next year!
The begonias arrived on May 20th. These spent even less time in transit as they were shipped on May 19th. These were even more disappointing in terms of size. Now I know that Begonias are quite slow growing bedding plants, but these were TINY!
If you look at the attached photos, you will see that when the plants are still in their trays, apart from the size, they don't look too bad. But you have to remember that 2 of the trays are holding 70 plants each (the can of lager is only there to provide a sense of scale by the way, I wasn't intending to feed them with that).
However, the shocking reality came to light when I started to plant them out. A significant number of the begonias only had 2 true leaves and about half of the petunias were leggy and lacking any kind of bushiness to them. They have been in the outside beds for nearly 2 weeks now and the vast majority have improved but only slightly (see the photo of the best of the petunias), but some didn't make it at all. And that was during one of the warmest spells of weather that we have ever seen in May, I dread to think what they would now look like if we had been getting normal May weather.
My message to Jersey Plants is: You need to "up your game" or you shouldn't be trading!
Ordered tomatoe plants in march after…
Ordered tomatoe plants in march after numerous emails with no replies, I emailed to cancel my order a month ago and asked for a refund, still no corospondance until yesterday to say they were being delivered today, I refused the delivery. I obviously didn't see the plants but going by the size of the box which should have contained 12 plants ! They must have been very small The plants I have bought elsewhere now are in flower
I made allowances for the current situation but never again would I place an order with them Shocking service from start to finish...still awaiting a refund
Will NEVER use again....
Another on line plant supplier that I will NEVER use again. Their "garden ready" plants were anything but - so tiny they were never going to survive. Nonetheless, planted and nurtured but about a third have survived so far. And they are still so tiny, I'm not hopeful.
Requested a refund but foolishly accepted replacement plants .......still waiting and no response to emails/contact.
Not worth the premium prices
I have previously left a 1 star review for Tomato plants. Like many of the others I wasn't impressed with the broken plants.( out of 3 Jumbo's ordered 1 survived the poorly packed journey. However, I will point out they looked liked they were good quality when packed.)
Today I received my floral rattan basket £18.99 (ordered beginning of April)
I'm under whelmed. Packed better this time. Looking a bit bedraggled at the moment. I have faith they will be OK.
Just not worth the premium price.
Better to visit local suppliers in future. I won't use again.
First and last time I use this company
First and last time I use this company. "Garden ready" plugs are tiny compared with garden centre plants. I ordered 4 lots of 70 plants. Cancelled two trays as they had not arrived after weeks and weeks. The other two trays arrived two weeks apart which is useless if you are planting up baskets. The trays hold 72 plants so you would think it would be easy to take two out and send 70. First tray had 64 plants and the second 67!. I eventually received a refund for the two cancelled trays but had to chase.
Poor value for money and poor delivery.
Rubbish JUMBO plants dead on arrival
Ordered 6 JUMBO tomato plants 7-8 weeks ago, about 4 weeks ago sent them an e-mail asking for a delivery date, to date have not had a reply, today 3/6/20 i received them all withered and dead, they are so small i cannot believe they can advertise them as JUMBO, i have emailed them demanding a refund, [ but i guess they will ignore that too ] i wish i had read these reviews before i ordered. Disgusting service, extremely poor quality plants,I will hound them for a refund and explanation. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS ,COMPANY...quality firms are going bust...so lets ensure that if refunds are not given then this BAD QUALITY SUPPLIER will be on the brink too.
Small, spindly and bent tomato plants
Ordered 12 Jumbo tomato plants on 13 April and 6 finally arrived June 3rd but no sign of the other 6. Small, spindly and in a tiny container which has made them grow bent so really disappointed. These look no better than bolted plug plants so would not recommend.
Last year said never again...
Last year said never again but thought I’d give them another go. Ordered plants beginning of April. Still waiting 3/6/20 for tomato plants. What has arrived so far...busy Lizzie..trailing begonia...are such poor quality. Tiny weedy plants I doubt will give a good display. I could have grown from seed myself better and quicker. What a waste of money. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!
Had 18 plug plants delivered and 10 of…
Had 18 plug plants delivered and 10 of them were broken and all dry , probably will not survive , do not use this company
Tomato plants
Ordered 6 F1 jumbo tomato plants 2 months ago and just received 6 dead plug plants. Disgusted with them.
Ordere 24 Jumbo Geranium Parade Plants
Ordered 24 Jumbo Geranium Parade Plants. What arrived over 6 weeks later was an absolute disgrace. I would be absolutely embarrased to send this out.
Only 12 plants, if you can call them that, arrived, luckily because they didn't have the full address given. All but 3 of the 12 had very little root growth, & looked dead upon arrival. I e:mailed them & sent a letter giving them an opportunity of a dignified response.I requested my money returned. I live in hope. I planted the 12, more in hope than expectation. My wife, & I agreed, that I have wasted my time. Giving this company any stars whatsoever is deserved.
OTHERS BE AWARE
I ordered my plants weeks ago
I ordered my plants weeks ago, they have taken my money but the plants have never arrived. I have tried to call them several times but had no luck. I also have messaged them on the webpage three time but never had an answer back.
Jerseyplantsdirect just give me my money back.
You should not be in business.

ONE VERY UPSET CUSTOMER
appalling customer service
appalling customer service. No plants and still no refund 6 weeks on. They don't pick the phone up and haven't replied to a single email chasing my order. Absolutely rubbish and one of the worst online companies i have dealt with. DO NOT USE
I wish I had carried out more research…
I wish I had carried out more research on this company before making a purchase with them. We purchased just under £100 worth of flowers, as others explained we waited between 4-6 weeks to receive first batch. They arrived inside a small cardboard box, with no additional packaging to secure them.
They were damaged, and the quality of these flowers was shocking. They were shrivelled up and the stems were flimsy (breaking), clearly their poor efforts in packaging these flowers meant the flowers had little to no chance of survival.
The sizes of the flowers are also not in line with their online dimensions, and a lot smaller than what they advertised on their website.
I will never order from this company again and urge people to research before purchasing from this business.
If I could give 0 stars I would
If I could give 0 stars I would. I can only echo previous bad reviews. Waited well over the expected lead time. They took payment immediately as it stated on website plants were ready. Not true, 8 weeks later.
Arrived damaged, not packaged correctly plants not fit for purpose. I ordered mega plants, I got dead seedlings, roots snapped off and soil all over the place. I have photos. Company not contactable, they don’t respond to emails and phone line has answer message. Wasted money. I would like a refund! Disappointing and disgraceful. RIP off despite current difficult conditions. Beware.
I have been appalled by the service…
I have been appalled by the service from Jersey Plants. I have waited 10 weeks for 2 out of my 3 items ordered. They are not contactable by phone, only by email. this can take up to 2 weeks to be answered. I was promised my plugs by the end of May. It's now June and they have not appeared, Terrible people and will not order from them again.
