Old-school Shopping Experience (which is great)!

J&S staff, in the shop, were super-helpful and non-judgemental. Faultless. All questions answered with honest answers. Their prices are as good as anywhere online, but you are there, trying them on. Brilliant place.

J&S online customer service was without fault. Exemplary in everyway. I had an issue with something I bought online (as the shop didn't have them), and they kept doing the best that was even possible to fix the situations. Which they did :D

Top tip to customers: Treat people nicely, and you will be treated nicely. Easy.

I couldn't ask for more from either of these departments of their business. Hence why I writing positive reviews.

They have a customer for life (hopefully it's a long one). And they'll probably take a chunk of my monthly pay, for the foreseeable future :D

I recently visited the J&S Accessories store, St Albans

I recently visited the J&S Accessories store in St Albans and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.

Firstly, there was no clear signage indicating where the ladies’ motorcycle clothing was located. The store appeared to be approximately 95% dedicated to men’s clothing, with the women’s section extremely limited. The only brands available were BKS and Frank Thomas, with very little choice. If there was any Dainese available, it was just the occasional standalone jacket — there were no matching jacket and trouser combinations at all.

The women’s clothing was all bunched together on a single rail and looked like rejected or returned stock. It appeared old, tired, and as though it had been circulated around stores for some time. Much of it even looked dusty. In contrast, the men’s range was well presented, organised, and clearly prioritised.

When a staff member approached me to ask if I needed help, I explained I was looking for women’s gear. He responded by suggesting I could always try on the men’s clothing instead. When I asked whether he would say the same thing to male customers about trying women’s clothing, he joked that his colleague wears women’s clothing and proceeded to shout this comment across the shop. I found this unprofessional and uncomfortable.

I would not recommend visiting this store if you are looking for women’s motorcycle clothing due to:

Extremely limited availability
Very restricted brand choice
Poor presentation of women’s stock
No matching sets available
Unprofessional customer service

Overall, the experience felt dismissive towards female riders, and the lack of effort put into the women’s section was disappointing.

JS Cardiff

Served by Rob G, really friendly guy, helped me pick out suitable riding trainers and they were £80 cheaper than other places I had been. He also helped me pick out all the right quad lock stuff for my bike.

Shoddy

I emailed J&S Accessories with the intention of relying on their advertised “Price Match Guarantee”, which states: “We won’t be beaten on price – we’ll match the prices of local and online competitors.”

I presented two items of clothing that satisfied all of the stated eligibility requirements of this guarantee. Despite this, J&S Accessories declined to match the competitor prices.

As a result, the guarantee was not honoured in circumstances where it reasonably should have applied. This calls into question whether the representation of a “Price Match Guarantee” accurately reflects the manner in which the policy is applied in practice, and whether it may be liable to mislead consumers as to their rights and expectations.

Bought trousers from Your J & S…

Bought trousers from Your J & S Accessories Ltd, but they were too small. The product page doesn’t mention they run small or are tight at the waist, and another customer review confirms this.
When I requested a return, the company refused to pay for return postage. As soon as I opened a PayPal dispute, the company blocked me from buying again, claiming I attempted fraud. PayPal covered the return postage and resolved the issue.
⚠️ Buyer warning:
Returns may be refused, even for legitimate issues.
Disputes may be mislabelled as fraud.
Check sizing carefully — their clothes may run small.

Display items are not new!

Purchased a pair of boots from J&S, advertised as Brand New in Box. What I unfortunately received, was one boot that looks lightly worn and one that's new.
The used boot having a scuff to the toe that is through the leather. They were also supplied in an old Bike It box rather than their own box. Whilst not a huge issue, it shouldn't be advertised as new in box when it's ex display (i'd guess) and not in the original box.

Customer service was 'lacking' with pretty much a 'yeah we do that, just send them back' attitude.

I like J and S but I'm getting really fed up with their lack of customer service.

Amazing customer service.

I couldn't fault them even if I tried. Absolutely stunning customer service, within an hour of my first email the entire situation and refund were sorted.

I see so many people who have had negative experiences in these reviews but the returns policy was clear and easy to follow. They were quick, polite and easy to talk to.

One of the best customer service experiences I've had to date. Will be using J&S Accessories in the future for any other items I need.

I bought a product here last month

I bought a product here last month, before the 25th. On the 25th, when I went to install it, the product didn’t work. I notified the company with photos, videos, and proof from the workshop where I tested it as soon as it arrived, and it was confirmed that it didn’t work.

I contacted them and returned the product, but so far I haven’t been told when I will get my refund or given any clear solution. They reply to emails, but only to say they are “in contact with someone,” which doesn’t give me any confidence.

I do not recommend buying from this page. If a brand-new product arrives defective and they can’t even refund me, I don’t want to imagine what would happen if I ever needed to use the warranty. I’m sure they would come up with something to avoid covering the issue.

This is my first time buying from this website, and the experience has been really bad. Be very careful. Share this comment so it doesn’t happen to someone else.

Really helpful and impartial advice on purchasing my first decent helmet and bike security. Ended up with an Arai Debut and didn't feel pushed to spend more which makes for a much better experience. Rhys spent loads of time explaining things and was extremely helpful. I'd definitely go back and recommend J&S to others.

New boots lead to new visor!

Went in to the Glasgow store a couple of weeks ago to buy some new boots. While in the store I asked about whether they stocked replacement visors for the helmet I bought from them about 4 years ago. The staff were very helpful, looked up the helmet to check but found that it wasn't available as the helmet had been discontinued. They offered to send a query to their warehouse to see if any were being held there. Response was a success and a got a phone call from them to confirm it was in store to pick up. Quick visit and the visor was supplied and fitted while I waited. Gary M was particularly helpful throughout.

My son purchased a helmet and gloves…

My son purchased a helmet and gloves from the Plymouth store that and it turned out the helmet too big for him.
He tried other models on to get his size then chose a model that the assistant didn't fit him for.
Upon trying to return it the assistant informed him there is no refunds on helmets. There is a small sign alluding to this but at time of purchase it was not conveyed to him nor is it on the receipt.
My son said he didn't see the sign due to it being very small and not prominently displayed and mentioned he has trouble reading due to Dyslexia. The shop assistant said "Its not her fault he can't read"
This is an appalling attitude to have regarding customer service and I believe the helmet has been sold as "not fit for purpose" due to it being too big for him.
A poorly fitted helmet is incredibly dangerous and I won't allow my son to wear it due to the potential repercussions should he have an accident.
As an aside the gloves he chose where put into a bag and on getting home he noticed that it was two different types of gloves and they were not a pair which goes to show that standards in the store are left wanting

J&S accessories, Oakmere/Northwich branch.

With something as personal and particular as Motorcycle gear, buying in store and trying items on is still the way to go. I don't think I've ever bought a pair of sunglasses without trying them on first.

Whilst in all honesty J&S, for some reason hasn't been my first thought when looking to purchase new gear.

While making the most of a very wet day while visiting friends in the area, the obligatory browse in the nearest bike shop/cafe was the order of the day.

While I had no initial intention to, I did end up taking full advantage of the vast selection of gear available on the shop floor, and ended up replacing some long overdue items ready for the colder/wetter months. The deals that were on offer were also better than what was currently online elsewhere (for the items I purchased anyway) The member of staff who offered their assistance, displayed their product knowledge in the way of advice in terms of different brands, their features and their varying sizing intricacies, as well as honest feedback about the products and some of problems that other customers have experienced. They didn't just push the hard sell on the latest or most expensive in the selection. This shouts "If we wouldn't wear it, we wouldn't sell it to you", and I appreciate that.

Having been to other outlets where there may be only a small selection of brands, in a couple of sizes, in one colour on display - or the process of browsing is through a touchscreen or finding staff to have the item you want to try on and brought out to you, only to go home empty handed, because it would have been less time consuming doing the same thing online or they'd have to order it in for you anyway, turning one trip to the store into two trips just to try it on.

"Mega store layout" all the way!

Price match promise false, awful customer service

J&S Accessories advertise a price match promise, but in practice it’s meaningless. I requested a match for three Oxford Calgary 2.0 items — all identical, in stock, and sold by a major UK retailer (SportsBikeShop). Their total was £319.97; J&S’s basket came to £469.97. Despite meeting every condition listed in their own policy, the best J&S would offer was a 20% discount — still £56 more expensive.

When I asked for their complaints team contact, I received nothing but a copy-paste of their “right to refuse” clause, with no explanation or courtesy. The tone was abrupt and dismissive.

I won’t be ordering from them. If the service had matched the promise, I’d have happily spent money and recommended them. SportsBikeShop is a bit further for me, but clearly worth the trip.
