You can't 'hide' your love of leather J Wood Leathers

I've been using this company since February 2023. I have never had a bad experience with this company. I have placed several orders over the 2 years (almost 3 actually). I have even contacted them for advice about leather hides. My orders are small and, for me personally but, you are treated as if you were spending hundreds with them.

Terrible experience with delivery and the leather is not what was expected.

Leather is getting more and more expensive and I was looking for a cheaper alternative to my usual supplier. Found this shop as the price was a bit lower than I usually pay so decided to give it a go. Starting with bad delivery experience. Twice FedEx was "attempting to deliver" while I am home all day and my workshop window is looking into the driveway so I wouldn't miss any delivery even if I wanted. The door is right here. They were delivering to the wrong address. Contacted customer service and next day their third attempt was kind of successful but they just left the box on the footpath at the curb where absolutely anybody who is passing by can pick it up. Not visible from the house. They couldn't even bother to walk 20 m to the house and ring the bell acknowledging the delivery is here. If by a lucky chance my husband was not leaving this day for the work (he usually works from home) I would be reporting a missing parcel right now (which by the way the FedEx has a large button "report a missing parcel" right on the front page when you track the item so obviously this is a normal situation for them). Terrible experience.
Now to the leather. I bought veg tan natural side. The listing says "regular grade" but if it is then I wonder what economy grade looks like. The thickness was as advertised, 2mm (out of 1.8-2.0mm) but this leather is very dry and harsh to the touch, feels way thicker than 2mm. Not suitable for my needs where I need supple and pliable leather for my smaller items. This reminded me of Tandy leather which I used to buy 15 years ago when just starting my leatherwork. Their cheap and economy grade leather was just like this one. Wrinkles like paper, very dry and harsh.
With all this said, I am giving it another chance and ordered another side, thinner one, to see if it was one off case and I was just unlucky. Will wait for the delivery and see the leather. If nothing changes then I guess I will be back to my usual supplier with their a bit more expensive but very good quality leather. Will see. I will be updating my review when (or if) the leather arrives.

Update:
Second order arrived quickly, delivered to the door. The leather is still the same quality as the previous order. Now I only ordered veg tan natural sides, "regular grade" so can only comment on that one. Their premium quality only comes in limited thickness, they don't have what I need. It is probably better and nicer but I have not tried it.
In my case I will have to go to other shops for the leather but if I need something cheaper (at expense of the quality) I might still buy here. But not for more valuable projects.

Another Update:
Stamping and especially tooling is not good on this particular leather either. There is no colour (burnished colour when stamping/tooling), leather doesn't cut softly, rather dry.
