I bought 7 Kami/Yi cameras from Amazon, which are all basically landfill now. Their app spams you with 30 second adverts *every* time you want to check a camera, and they lock you into subscription models (I had to get Google to get me out of my trial). Initially good, but now scammers. Avoid.

If you like watching loads of ads while burglars are entering your premises this is the company for you. If not keep well away. I am in the process of replacing the cameras with ones you can actually use

JUST DO NOT BUY KAMI OR YI!
You pay for the camera and they make you watch several ads before you can even access the camera's. Or they charge you monthly which is a day time robbery. Just buy Eufy or some other company.

Would do zero stars if I could. I was happy a year ago, and foolishly recommended them to family members. Now they moan about the constant ads and popups you have to go through just to use the thing. I don't want a subscription, but I do think that if you pay money for something, you should be able to use it without putting up with this bombardment. Would never recommend again.

The cameras are the worst on the market. They force you to use their paid AI service. Today, the SD cards in all the cameras also stopped working to force me to pay.

Awful. Bought camera system as it seemed professional, but you have to watch game adverts before you can get to the camera feeds.
The Ai kept telling me my cat was a human, so shut that feature off.
Their hardware is good, but the app is a trap that constantly begs for money.

As for consent options, allow at least an hour if you want to uncheck the options for them not to sell your data. (You have do do this frequently as it often just resets)

I have had the YI cameras for around 7 years with just a few glitches but pretty happy with the cameras.
The issue I have and think it is a BIG SCAM is when I first got the cameras I had 6 second cloud recording. About a year ago I needed to view longer recording so purchased a cloud plan.
A year later I canceled the plan and now I can't get the 6 second cloud viewing and add, after add just pop up repeatedly.
I did contact them and they stated the 6 second cloud service only.comes with a subscription? Well why would I need a subscription for 6 second recording when the cloud service is full recordings?
They then stated they never gave 6 second cloud viewings and I'd need to repurchase a subscription to get the 6 seconds and remove the adds.
Funny how I had the 6 seconds for years until I purchased and then canceled my subscription service for full recordings.
Stay away from Kami, and I guess YI cameras if they use the Kami cloud services.

This company is HORRIBLE. We canceled them because they were terrible quality. They decided to randomly restart my subscription from 2022 on their own and charge me! I got my money back from my bank but now they refuse to cancel the subscription that they started on their own. They said that they did cancel it but they absolutely did not. And now they just keep offering me a new camera. I dont want a camera. I will never use YI cameras or Kami again!

Stay away from this subscription service. I canceled my free trial but was charged the $50 anyway. When I made a complaint I was asked if I would accept a $25 refund and 2 free devices. I agreed but I only received a $20 refund and NO free devices. I have tried to contact customer service 3 times with no response. My advice would be to not try the 3 day trial because you will be charged even though you canceled the subscription. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

I do not recommend this camera, the have sooo many adds asking to buy or play a game before you can actually look at the live camera it takes me 2 to 3 min just to skip all the adds and even if I click the cancel it takes me to the app store to buy the games, do nottttttt buy

Be careful when you subscribe their cloud subscription. I did it from my iPhone, but with a VISA Card, not Apple In-App purchase, and when I try to stop my subscription on the iPhone they say "Please do it from an Android or from the Web" and when I try from the web they say "Please do it from an iPhone".

So I froze my card, juste because of their shitty system (That is also totally illegal)

They keep taking money from my bank every year and it is impossible to contact them I have never been able to use there cloud service they first said I have wrong cameras but the cloud service was on the app to join .
Total scammers bank are looking into it now and have blocked them taking more money ( I hope )

Absolute rubbish. Bought these cameras a while ago and the software was fine...maybe a little buggy.

Now however, every time i need to open the app to check an alert, i have to watch an advert.

If I could return these I would. Now I am looking for alternatives as these are not fit for purposed.

If you need to check in an emergency, be prepared to wait anything between 15seconds and 1minute before you can view the camera.

I HAVE NEVER heard of this company, but somehow, they put through a charge on my credit card, and now my card has been cancelled. I tried contacting them, but of course, you can't speak to anyone - emails back and forth, they want ME to fix the issue - talk about SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Kami and Yi are the same company.

I purchased Yi cameras and they run software by Kami.

I purchased a cloud plan that is unusable and it's impossible to cancel this subscription as Kami and Yi are unwilling to help. Only option is to go to the credit card company.

I usually don't write reviews, but I strongly advise against using this camera if you want to use their cloud feature. The main reason is that their cloud provider (KAMI) operates like a scam. They make it difficult to unsubscribe, forcing you to pay for services you no longer need. The only way to unsubscribe is by sending an email, and they bombard you with questions before eventually ignoring you. This has happened to me multiple times, and I’ve spent hours over the phone just trying to terminate my subscription ss my emails were eventually ignored. This has been going on for months! Avoid this if you want a stress-free experience and the ability to unsubscribe easily through the app. It feels like they do this on purpose, making it so frustrating that you end up paying them every month. What they’re doing should be illegal!

Kami Cloud is YI Cam's cloud provider. I signed up for a free 7 day trial. To do so I had to provide my payment details. Now I am unable to cancel my subscription. The cancel subscription button in my account responds I will receive an email from Kami support within 2 days - and "Your subscription will NOT be cancelled unless you reply to this email." This is not serious. AVOID!

Update. 3 days later. I've been forced to cancel my credit card to avoid auto renewal. Still no response from support. This is truly a scam.
