Stay AWAY of Kenwood

I bought a Kenwood Fridge/Freezer KNF60HX17. Great product. After exactly 3 years it stopped making cold anymore. Kenwood doesn’t do repairs they are working with Currys which don’t replace compressors. I found some companies which could replace the compressor at the price of 80% of a new fridge.
The amount of waste KENWOOD is doing is astonishing. To dispose a fridge which should have worked for 15 years after just 3 years is heartbreaking from an environmental point of view.

worst experience of food processor KM287

i am using kenwood food processor KM287 from last few months and totally fed-up of it. juicer is pathetic, takes very small size of fruits/carrot etc. and leaves half of juice in waste. blender leaves chunks even if I make banana or strawberry shake it never blends them completely. haven't used other parts yet but i have no hope for them as well.

Extremely poor after sales service

Extremely poor after sales service Have been trying to contact them for two weeks by phone and web chat No response to either. All I want is a replacement beater for a food mixer, that broke within three months of purchase. At this rate I'll be better off buying a new one from e spares!

Items arrived damaged. Appalling customer service!

Appalling customer service!! Avoid at all costs! I bought a Kenwood KMix from what I believed to be a premium company. It arrived damaged, when I contacted them to arrange a replacement unit the only options offered is a refund to re-buy another unit (which has now increased in price by £200 leaving me over £200 out of pocket to obtain an undamaged unit) or to bring the machine in for a repair - this is a brand new product costing £300, a repair required for a brand new product is not acceptable! Customer service has been appalling. I am incredibly disappointed with how this company treats its customers. Do not buy from them, be aware that you will receive a brand new product damaged and then they will expect you to pay another £200 to get an equal replacement or you will have to put up with a repaired product with no discount for it being damaged and repaired. Appalling.

50 years verses 15 months - don’t make them like they used to!

This can’t be right? Fifty years verses fifteen months....this is the ‘lifespan’ of my Mum’s Kenwood mixer verses mine! A shocking comparison I’m sure you’ll agree!

My parents bought me a Kenwood Multione mixer KHH30 as a Christmas present. Based on the longevity of my Mum’s Kenwood, I was delighted!

I started using the mixer in January 2020, after Christmas, and all worked fine. However, a week ago the mixer started speeding up by itself, sending cake mix over the kitchen surfaces and myself. Quite funny initially, but not so much when I realised this wasn’t a ‘one off’!

I telephoned Kenwood customer care and as the machine is out of warranty I would need to pay £91 to get it looked at! This is the cost of couriering the machine for a service, repair (only up to parts costing £10) and then giving me a quote for any additional repairs needed....who knows how much that would be!

This is nearly half the cost again of the mixer and it has only been used for 15 months! I am flabbergasted that Kenwood clearly do not produce the same quality product and disappointed it seems you do not care about this or their reputation. My parents are so upset as they felt they were setting me up for years ahead with a reliable product. What a disappointment Kenwood are!

Kenwood Fridge Freezer - dreadful

I wish I had read some of these reviews before purchasing, I am now having to write my own review which I am posting on Currys and Kenwood: We have just had a lovely new kitchen fitted and purchased an American fridge freezer from Currys which we took delivery of 6/4/22. From the start it made a loud noise which we reported and was told an engineer would come out the following Wednesday. We received a phone call in the meantime to say this was a common fault and they knew what it was so they would order the part and let us know when it was in. We waited but heard nothing so we called again and was told the part was here so they would come on Thursday, we then got another call saying they couldn’t come and would be here Friday (yesterday). The guy came and said he needed the fridge emptying which we did any to be told 5 minutes later they had sent the wrong part and would have to reorder it, how’re he said there is a delay with getting parts at the moment and could not say how long this would be. We contacted Curry’s on chat and was told WE need to call Kenwood and get an uplift number, when asked for the number Ashad said he couldn’t give it any we would have to google it. I telephoned today and spoke to Melissa who did call Kenwood but was not given an uplift number until the engineer had been back and trued to mend it. I said I wanted to escalate this and she said she would ask a manager to call me but they couldn’t do anything. It says on Curry’s website if something can not be repaired in a week you will replace the item, well we have been waiting over 2 weeks and still waiting. We have paid a plumber to plumb the fridge in, but now we can’t sit or eat in our new kitchen because of the he loud noise from the Kenwood fridge freezer. Terrible service from Currys and Kenwood

Kenwood American Fridge Freezer £800

Kenwood American Fridge Freezer £800. Bought from Currys as Kenwood is licensed to Currys as a brand. Fridge malfunctioned after 1.5 years. No longer under the 12 month warranty. Under trading standards any appliance less then 3 years old should be replaced or repaired free of charge by the manufacturer. So far been back and forth between Kenwood and Currys with noone taking responsibility. Don't buy a Kenwood and at this point will not be purchasing from Currys in the future.

Kenwood TK-3701D

Having purchased two of these radios which are not cheap at around £170 each I can't say I am impressed with them or the support received.

Starting with the good the radios seem durable which I am not willing to test but I play airsoft so no doubt they have been hit from time to time and haven't got any marks on them and also the battery seems to last a decent amount of time.

The bad part is with the actual usage. So having spent time reading the manual and watching a number of videos online on how the radios functioned I was fairly confident that when I powered on the radio I would be able set it up to what I wanted which was simply to use digital. All I needed to do was to turn the radio on and then switch to zone 3 which is the one and only zone by default which was configured for digital. At first it was all great and I thought it was working but testing the radios I noticed based on how the signal would break up that it was actually using analogue rather than digital.

I also noticed that no matter what zone I changed to I could always communicate with the second radio which I hadn't made any changes to.

Having spent a number of hours trying to solve this I decided to reset the radios and contact the support team to see if there was something they could help with.

The response I got was basically "The equipment is pretty complex and I needed the software to configure the radio".

Looked up what software was needed "KPG-202" and it costs £80.

I reluctantly purchased the software and basically because the radio always defaults to zone 1 even after it says zone 2 or 3 I have simply configured zone 1 to be the digital one instead.

I believe this is poor business practise from kenwood and I would not recommend their radios to anyone unless the software which is required to actually set the radios up comes with the radios you purchase. I feel like I have been scammed with extra hidden costs to what is already an expensive radio.

When it comes to getting new radios I think I will be avoiding kenwood in the future.

Pleased with the oven

Bought a Kenwood oven from Currys for roughly £280 and paid have previously more for less quality. The oven cooks well and cleans easily. This was a gamble as we moved in lockdown and needed an oven quickly and the gamble paid off. Very impressed.

Horrific quality - avoid

Horrific quality. Avoid! Bought tall fridge two years ago from curry’s and already packed up. Disgusting company allowed to sell such rubbish with lifespan about ten years shorter than other manufacturers. They should be fined for creating more landfill. Had a dishwasher on order from them but I have now cancelled and will never buy kenwood again. I remember growing up and my mum always bought kenwood Saying good quality and lasts. What a shame they have replaced good quality, long lasting goods and great reputation and repeat business for cheap shoddy Tatt and well looking on hear, need I say more about reputation. I think this business strategy will not work in long run.

It has been ridiculous trying to contact kenwood manufacturer to discuss a design fault with my fridge freezer. I am constantly being given different numbers taking me through the same recorded messages at Team Know How who are constantly redirecting me to the kenwood manufacturer! I have wasted almost 2 hours and no further forward with my issue. I would never recommend or buy kenwood again if this issue is not resolved.

dash cam

Brought a dash cam. Open it up and tried to install but didn't have the right piggy back I needed for my car. Look online to buy one but it doesn't fit as they don't use the standard size for their cable. Customer service were useless and didn't care. Can't get a refund. I wouldnt recommend this product at all.

Do not waste your money

Do not waste your money. Bought an under counter integrated fridge 18 months ago. Not happy at all . Silver bar on milk shelf kept falling off then the milk shelf gave way. When I looked closer the plastic is paper thin never really stood a chance. Can’t put milk in fridge door so pretty useless now. Phoned curry’s and they wanted £109 to come out and then they said it was beyond repair as it was wear and tear. What tosh! Disappointed with curry’s pc world selling substandard products to start with

Brought a KENWOOD DMX7017DABS with dash camera for my van. After 10 months it started playing up and then stopped, resulted in being sent off for examination by Fullers. They state water ingress, but 100% no liquid has been on the device and they state it wont be covered by warranty. Shocking customer service.

Kenwood freezer: AVOID!

Kenwood ktf60x15 tall freezer. Stainless steel. Bought 1 year ago. Does the freezing job ok. But the drawers are so flimsy the handles break in no time, and they don't have a good positive stop to prevent the drawers from sliding out too far when you open them. So the drawer tumbles out onto the floor and the plastic cracks. All - I'm certain - deliberate design flaws so you have to buy new drawers at almost £50 a pop for injection-moulded plastic that costs literally a quid or two to manufacture. Just because they've got you over a barrel.

Avoid like the plague

I’m sure there are many people who have had great experiences with Kenwood Travel.... but sadly I am not one. Repeatedly I feel I have been deceived, long delays in communication and random extra admin charges added for nonsensical things. The customer service has been rocky. You’ve had my money for a year - give it back now! Due to covid pandemic, I moved 6 holidays last year... Kenwood was far the most complicated to deal with and the only one that seems to approach ‘helping you’ with a mind to profiter..... LoveHolidays, First Choice, Tui, British airways and easyJet were all by far easier to deal with. I’m putting this out there to warn others - this company are not easy to deal with.
