Love the Kobo, hate that I lose my downloads every update.
I have yet to get the stylus but omg I want the stylus so bad. I’ll be able to really reach the full potential when I get that lol but it looks amazing and feels amazing, so far the battery last SO LONG
everything i was looking for
Bought it for my husband birthday. He cannot stop saying how much he loves it. Great product
I couldn't be happier with my Kobo Libra Colour! It's cute, wonderful to read on, and the Overdrive/Libby integration is seamless, allowing me to easily borrow library books and read constantly. Currently saving up for the Kobo Stylus II to complete the best reading experience. I can't wait to try the annotation/note-taking feature!
I like my Kobo, as far as e-readers go, but I do have some gripes and suggestions for future updates/models. I wish I could change the look of the UI/sections instead of choosing between very similar black and white interface themes. My Kobo also randomly locks up and restarts itself frequently, and I can't imagine why as I'm not doing much with it. When I read at night, I turn on the Kobo and it blinds me and wakes up my partner, despite the font brightness being very low. Why is the log-in screen like a blazing sun? Writing in the Kobo, where I write down my reviews and have a book journal, is both useful and tedious. It lags frequently when I'm writing and if the side of my hand touches the 'page' even a little the page jumps down to where it touched. It also took me forever to figure out how to add or remove a space between letters/words when the Kobo malfunctions and smooshes the words I wrote together. The functions are just not intuitive or well explained. I'd like a spellchecker too. I have been unsuccessful in getting the beta web browser to work, which is a real shame, since id like to look up info about books, authors, book clubs, etc. without having to get my phone or computer out in the middle of the night. And while I love that you've got a voice reader on the website, the whole point of having a Kobo reader is to have all of your book related things on ONE device, and not need a computer, phone or other devices to access your content and features. I'd love to see the voice reader added to the actual Kobo since I am disabled (my arms are damaged) and I sometimes struggle, even with the clicker I bought to turn pages. Adding Audiobooks would be great too. Oh, and there have been several books I wanted to buy on the Kobo but they weren't available, which was very disappointing. I had to read them on another device. All in all, I like the ereader but that's pretty much all it is. I expected it to be more comfortable to write and draw in, but it's a hassle, so I end up using my computer instead. I'm sticking with it for now because I don't want to give any more of my money, or private information, to that OTHER 'tropical' book supplier/e-reader company, who has treated their customers very badly. But, it needs some of the features I wrote about above and it needs to not lag/restart randomly so often. I don't typically buy uni-taskers, items that only perform a single function, as they are a waste of time, money and space. The Kobo will need to get an update that makes the device more reliable, personal, and adds more reasons to use the device or it will end up as an expensive paperweight on my desk. Which would be a real shame, as it has a lot of potential and I'd hate to go back to that OTHER ebook reader, who can't be trusted anymore.
It’s my first e-reader and I’m really happy I bought the Kobo Libra Colour. Haven’t tried the note taking bit but I find I’m reading more often and for longer periods too. I take it with me everywhere. So lightweight and portable. The buttons are so satisfying to use as page turners. Battery life is pretty good too.
I ordered the Kobo Libra Colour for my wife as a Mother's Day present, and it has been used every day since it was given to her. What's most useful for her is that she's studying for her Master's right now, and she can load all her digital textbooks onto it, allowing her to study in other places in the house, not tethered to a computer desk and screen.
Works as intended. I switched from a first gen Kindle to this Kobo and I love how responsive it is, how many features it has while remaining simple to use. It feels good and comfortable in my hands.
No distractions, easy to side load, the kobo store is also super simple to use
Great device, it is soon becoming my go-to note-taking tool, where i also keep my books, so two great features in one singe device!
Seems good. Comfortable to hold.
LOVE IT! Works great & o love having the stylus to journal/ stay better focused by underlining sentences etc
The best thing I have ever bought my partner! They use it all the time!
Just a great little reader
Seems well made. But you are paying for a lot of stuff that really isn't needed. Colour -- waste of time. Pen and notations - again a waste of time. Just make a 7" BW version please.
Easier to use than my old Kobo!
Completely satisfied!
I like it!
