The Kobo Libra is a great product but a couple of things pull it down, leading me to return it. 1. The Screen: I usually read books without pictures and the screen appears blurry compared to other readers. I don’t care much about Colour and felt like I was paying more for an inferior screen. 2. Charging situation: It’s 2026 and this device doesn’t work with different chargers. I can plug almost anything into USB-C PD compliant charger and it will work but Libra won’t do that. It’ll say it’s charging but it doesn’t on higher powered charger. I’m not a big fan of carrying a separate charger just for this. 3. Software: The software is a little bit of letdown, with no easy dark mode scheduling. 4. Updates: This product hasn’t been updated since 2024, I waited a month for deals before pulling the trigger but I’d still suggest waiting. A black and white and USB-C PD compliant version would be amazing. That’s all I want to order on ASAP.

I love my cobo libra color I the only other e reader i've had is a kindle basic and I love the cobo ecosystem much better.I love the buttons.I love the use stylus for annotating and highlighting use. I love my purchase.Do not regret it!!

The Kobo Libra Color is much worth the upgrade from a Kobo Clara BW; the performance is improved, color matters more than it seems, and the GDrive/Dropbox sync is a fantastic convenience.

Absolutely renewed my love of reading. The adjustable brightness and natural light settings are amazing; I love being able to adjust the light depending on how tired my eyes are feeling (I look at screens all day at work, so this was a definite factor). Also completely ad-free unlike the Amazon Kindles, which will show you ads unless you pay extra to remove them. Lastly, Kindles will auto-delete any book files you add to your device when you connect to Wi-Fi; Kobo won't do that! I'm so glad I gave Kobo a chance over the Kindles.

Overpriced junk. Tolerating such embarrassingly slow performance and text ghosting on a device made for reading in 2026 is insane. Additionally, Rakuten FORCE you to make an online account and setup with wifi in order to use the device at all. Good luck setting it up with the abysmal wifi! Buy a small, cheap tablet and have the self-control to use it only for reading. Rakuten customer service is just as bad, if not worse. Return form is broken. Then they force you to use a chat bot until you maybe hear back from a human. Then when eventually you confirm you want to do a return, they demand you send screenshots/photos of the kobo. Then they send you a verification email...eventually. You verify your email, twice. Then they send you a label, a few days later.

I only use this for reading so don't need color, highlighting, doc storage or any of the many other features this has and can't speak to them. I do like the adjustability of the page orientation, font, lighting, margins, etc. Easy and pleasant to use. Very disappointed that I can only add one of my library cards to the Overdrive account, I have four libraries I can access on my Kindle. Really wish they would fix this!
