UPDATE Review

UPDATE. 18 months ago I wrote a glowing review for The Edge Cycleworks in Lancaster.
I bought a Trek Pro Caliber 6.
It is excellent tough fast reliable no problems whatsoever and it looks great in it's red with black components.
It's easy to give a good service to a customer and be nice to them when they are potentially going to make a purchase. Want to say that over the last year and a half the staff have continued in the same spirit providing myself my daughter and several friends a top quality service always doing there very best to accommodate me often with very short notice re fixing pictures ect. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable professionals with many years of experience of both riding and bike mechanics. A real pleasure to deal with, highly recommend ed. Paul F. Lancaster

Do not rely on your product being at the branch if you decide to collect

I drove from London to collect my helmet from the Leyland branch, only to be told 5 minutes before arrival that it was at the Wolverhampton branch. Quite a wet and nonchalant apology. Went to Wolverhampton and once again, very little in the way of concern for what happened. I'll avoid buying anything from them again. Mistakes can be made, but not caring at two branches sums up their business's interest in customer service.

Update: so that’s total rubbish, your website gave that store as the pick location for next day, not that I would be able to get it from there 2 weeks later. You messed up, it is what is. Your staff admitted there was also a mistake made. Don’t put you mess up on me or insinuate I couldn’t understand your website and think I was buying something for next day collection for two weeks later.

Dear Phil,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.

Regarding your recent order for the Troy Lee Designs A3 MIPS MTB Helmet, I see that you placed the order on the evening of the 11th for click-and-collect at our Leyland store. Because the item was not in stock at that specific location, the website estimated the order would be ready for collection by the 26th.

Our Leyland store contacted you on the morning of the 12th to inform you that we were requesting the helmet from our Wolverhampton store, as that was the only location with available stock. Following that, it appears the order was transferred to the Wolverhampton store shortly thereafter.

I am sorry to hear that this experience has fallen short of your expectations.

Best regards,

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Allowed me to look at alternative bikes when my 1st choice was unavailable, which enabled me to purchase the bike I have and giving me the choice of a free bike service within 3 months of purchase. Would certainly recommend them!

Avoid! 6 weeks, no communication, and the original fault still isn't fixed

I've used this store before and had no complaints, which is why this experience is so disappointing and, in my opinion, unacceptable.
I booked my e-bike in for a service with an agreed turnaround of 5-6 hours. I was told after drop off that a recall part was needed. Fair enough, but what followed was six weeks of terrible communication and worse service.
The part arrived after 3 weeks. It then sat untouched for a further 3 weeks because the workshop was "too busy." Nobody called to tell me any of this. I only found out when I chased them at the 6 week mark. If a job goes from a 6 hour promise to a 6 week wait, the least I'd expect is a courtesy call. I got none.
Worst of all... when I finally collected the bike, the original motor issue, the actual reason I booked it in, HADN'T EVEN BEEN FIXED!
This is my daily commuter bike. Six weeks without it meant walking long distances or paying for taxis, at real cost to me, because of a delay that was largely down to their own workshop scheduling, not the part itself.
Good service on a sale means little if it disappears the moment something needs fixing. I'd think carefully before trusting this store with a repair.

Within an hour after ordering I received a text giving me an update on the order and what stage it was at. I had constant updates on delivery and when to expect delivery etc. fantastic communication and personal touch. Really pleased I ordered from here and would certainly recommend.
