Callum Steele BMW South Lakes
I would like to thank Callum Steele for his excellent service during my recent purchase of a nearly new BMW from BMW South Lakes in Grange Over Sands.
Callum sent me a comprehensive personalised video review of the car I was interested in and then proceeded to broker a competitive deal.
He was courteous, professional and friendly throughout the process & I would highly recommend potential customers seek him out when you buy you next BMW.
The handover was done by Luke Comer who offered some nice coffee & quality biscuits on arrival.
Luke completed all the paperwork & road tax, and then did a full reveal of the car from under a black cover, just like a car show.
He then set up the mobile app, personalised the car to my preferences and answered all my questions on how to operate the different functions, his tuition & expertise was much appreciated, he even made sure the car had enough petrol to get home.
I would highly recommend the Lloyds BMW group who have dealerships throughout the North of England.
Minimum standards aren’t achieved
I actually thought the overall experience and car was quite good, but unfortunately it’s not worth the premium going to used/approved when there was question marks over conformity to work to there own minimum health check standards. On arrival I was happy with the sale team, very friendly and attentive. There was a few issues with the car, the health check inspection highlighted the brake discs measuring under the minimum thickness, something I had highlighted had occurred to me in the past, costing me in access of £1500 to replace. I was asked what it would take to get my business and I highlighted that the discs would need sorting, amongst other things, including stone chips, inflation kit missing and the battery needing inspecting. At the handover, the discs hadn’t been changed and I was told they were fine, with no evidence presented so I had to have them independently verified. The paintwork was still chipped in areas, including along the door edge - I was offered and accepted a touch up pen to do it myself. Further inspection found the diffuser was repaired using what appears to be tip ex, the alloy was gauged and the key was missing the trim. These issues were raised and justified as ‘expected with used cars’ and there is a limited budget for repairs. A discount was applied to the car (£500) which was the match the offer made by Lloyds Colne for the same vehicle, not to compensate for the damage. Maybe at a side street garage this would accepted, but not a approved used. I have raised these concerns directly and it’s clear we agree to disagree on these matters and I’ll have my issues rectified by a third party.
I thought Luke from the handover team was brilliant, Extremely knowledgable and patient to show me all the bells and whistles. Fiona from sales was also very friendly and helpful throughout but wasn’t supported by the preparation team, in my opinion.
It is the best service I have ever…
It is the best service I have ever received from Danny. From the first contact right through to picking up the car, just first class. I rarely weight reviews but the service was so good I just had to. Everything was so smooth, if you are thinking about getting a BMW I can recommend Danny at Lloyd BMW Blackpool.
Regards
Seamus
Excellent experience
Just bought a secondhand 335 touring. Excellent service from Danny. Left today with a full tank of diesel, refurbished all 4 alloys and a 12 month BMW warranty. Did everything he said he would do, 5 stars. Mick Haworth
Absolutely Appalling Experience
Absolutely Appalling Experience – Avoid Lloyd BMW Blackpool and the BMW Approved Used Scheme
If you’re considering buying an Approved Used BMW from Lloyd BMW Blackpool — or anywhere under the BMW Approved Used program — think twice.
I purchased a BMW M550i (registration: PL21 NLX) from Lloyd BMW Blackpool in December 2024, trusting the "Approved Used" badge as a guarantee of quality, safety, and rigorous inspection. What I received instead was a car sold in a dangerous and structurally compromised condition.
Just two months after purchasing the vehicle, I suffered a flat tyre — only to discover that all four alloys were cracked, with a total of six cracks across the wheels. Even worse, there was clear evidence of previous welding repairs on the alloys, something that should immediately fail any proper BMW Approved Used inspection.
When I raised this serious safety issue with Lloyd BMW Blackpool, I was completely dismissed. Despite providing clear photo and video evidence, the service manager, Callum West, ignored my emails and refused to take any responsibility. I was left to pay for repairs myself — repairs I should never have needed on a car sold under the BMW "Approved" banner.
Fast forward a few weeks: another cracked alloy, another flat tyre, more dangerous negligence. When pressed, a Lloyd BMW employee finally admitted that welded alloys would not pass an Approved Used check — yet here I was, sold a car with multiple welds hidden beneath refurbished finishes.
Instead of owning up, Lloyd BMW Blackpool decided to insult my integrity by falsely accusing me of having the wheels welded myself — an utterly outrageous and desperate attempt to shift blame.
This is not just poor service — it’s gross negligence. I drive my children in this car. Had one of these cracked and previously welded alloys failed at motorway speeds, the consequences could have been fatal.
BMW's supposed "Approved Used" standards are clearly a marketing lie, and Lloyd BMW Blackpool has shown zero accountability, professionalism, or concern for customer safety.
I have since escalated this issue to the Motor Ombudsman and will continue to share my experience widely to prevent others from falling victim to this reckless and disgraceful behavior.
If you value your safety, your family’s safety, and your hard-earned money, avoid Lloyd BMW Blackpool — and approach BMW’s Approved Used scheme with extreme caution.
Poor service
Hi after a great two yrs or experience with sliverlink bmw (loyds group), it has come to a massive stop, bmw x5 with service warrenty ,goes into there work shop for mot and brake fluid service ,car was there at 8am ,and was waiting ,told at 11am that its taking longer ,ok more coffee ,at 1pm told care needs 4 new tyres as failed mot ,pictures confirm rip in walls of tyres ,ok (these had been checked less than two days previous, all ok),i ok the new tyres to be fitted ,although not the spec i wanted as was told they cant get them,at about 4pm told car will not be ready disappointed but a car was given to use ,and my car would be ready next morning, next morning told car would be ready at 3pm,went to collect but and driving car has bad vibration, and confirmed by mechanic ,told to use my courtesy car again ,next day car wasnt ready so can i pick up next day ok,went to pick up,car left open, alloys wheels all marked from either tyre fitting maching or from someone scraping old wieghts off with a sharp tool and leaving the sticky backing in place (not great for balancing wheels),complained to service man ,and yes they will refurbish the alloys ,but the question remians ,the car went in for mot and brake fliud service ,i have now been without this car for 5 days and counting ,not great service from what is supposed to be a main dealer,I'll look forward to the refurbished wheels and vibration fault rectified, but at this moment have lost all confindence in this dealer ,lets hope they can redeem there shelves ,and i will glady write a better review ,but currently ,very poor
Utter rubbish
Utter rubbish. Sold an electric Mini Cooper via Motorway to Mini/BMW Dealer Lloyds in Yorkshire. They offered a great price but knew the car was 250 miles away and being an electric Mini would have to be collected on a transporter because it only has 90 miles range. After 2 weeks faffing about they didn’t want it. Motorway did nothing. Head of sales Chris Burke said “we don’t have to buy it and you don’t have to sell it” which would be fair enough if they had not bid on it and deprived me of accepting an alternative offer. Totally unprofessional.
Positive and pleasant experience
From the point of entry, the safes process, was friendly, unpressurised, courteous and efficient.
Danny Greaves - Blackpool, is a trustworthy salesman, relaxed process from, vehicle technical data and financial options. Transfer and finalisation at delivery of the Series 8 was a pleasant and efficient process. The experience holds true over the test of time it's reliable, Danny sold me a car back in 2017.

A truly 5* Service From Lloyd BMW Blackpool
My wife collected her new car from Lloyd BMW Blackpool today. All I can say is " A truly 5* service from Lauren & Ed, superb! No wonder they consistently win awards for excellent service. Thank you.
Outstanding service and amazing care
Outstanding service and amazing care. BMW brought the car to my home,1.5hrs drive from Colne. After buying the car, although I loved it I unfortunately had back issues from the seats. I was given a few weeks to try different back cushions. They BMW Colne kindly let me bring the car back. They gave me my money and Part exchange back. The care, support and understanding I received was excellent.
Blackpool branch.
I Purchased a used 320 from Blackpool branch.
The service I received from Paul Smith was fantastic. I felt at ease the whole time, he was very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the cars they sell. I also had the same feeling from Sam, the finance manager. He went through the whole process and again, I felt at ease. There was never a feeling of hard or upselling.
Very professional encounter and I will revisit when I’m due a new car.
We purchased a new M60 electric car in…
We purchased a new M60 electric car in February 2024. (£100K + electric car)
It drove well and we had a 320 mile range on 100% battery charge. It was advertised as being 320 - 350 miles so all good to start and I was happy
Aftersales -
We had a recurring incorrect tyre pressure warning on the dash and Lloyds suggested we book it in their workshop. On leaving the workshop we discovered we then had a bigger and very real concern and had a 200 mile range on 100%. We had 120 miles less range on 100% so booked it in again for this reason.
After having the car for a few hours we got a call from a receptionist to say we can have it back as that is normal and is not a problem. I asked to speak to the workshop as I thought losing over 30% of the range after they had the vehicle - was a problem to me. They would not allow me to speak to the workshop blaming the cold. I suggested they kept the car until they got the range back to 320 miles in a warm garage as it was not cold when I reported the fault. After I convinced the receptionist the workshop should try again, they kept the car for five more days without any contact to me.
A new receptionist then called to say I need to collect the car, there was no problem, the mileage was still at 200 miles and it was not Lloyds fault. I again asked to speak to the workshop and they told me " the assistant chief technician was a very busy man and could phone me and explain in five days time though I should pick my car up that day". I explained but it wasn't fixed and they said as far as they were concerned it was not their fault and I should take it up with BMW.
I am still awaiting the deputy chief technicians explanation of why the car lost 30% of its range after one visit to Lloyds workshop.
Exellent service all round
Exellent service all round. Warranty work still done even after it had just expired, bmw staff pleasent and helpful.
Been in bodyshop twice for M upgrades, brill work done by Rik and the team again today.
Lloyd BMW Newcastle
Lloyd BMW Newcastle.
Very very poor service. Was given a price for MOT and Service and was asked when I took the car in if I wanted a wash and valet, which is what you would expect anyway from BMW.
I took the car in at 8.30 heard not a single thing all day - came back at 5pm not knowing if the car was ready as had not been contacted. Sat down to be asked to pay £150 more than I was quoted. Went outside to get into my car and was not even valeted or washed, and the reminders were still on the dashboard.
After calling and speaking to a manager as I was really disappointed he tried to say that it was human error that my car was not valeted which is included in the service package.
I am appalled and disgusted at the service I don’t feel looked after or that anyone had a care in the world.
Great service from Danny in Blackpool
Went to Blackpool as their prices were competitive. Purchased a BMW 3 Series from Danny Greaves. who was excellent to deal with, especially as this was all done remotely.
He kept us informed and gave us a good deal. We are over the moon with the car and would definitely deal with Danny & Lloyds again.
Great experience
Pleasure to deal with! Great customer service. Big shout out to Callum who was the main man sorting my car and making sure that I'll get the best possible deal.
