I have worked for lotus homecare…

I have worked for lotus homecare Rotherham for nearly 6 years. loved my clients and my job.
I asked for 5 days holiday which was rejected with no reason. put 4 weeks notice in got a new job. this company is more interested in money by sponsorship from abroad they take on people with absolutely no experience what so ever. it's the clients that suffer and every day I hear my clients complain. the company is interested in money not the clients I rest my case.

I really feel this business cares about…

I really feel this business cares about all staff and service users ... they care, it's a tough job in a tough sector , staff don't want to work in care anymore however the staff that do work for this business have a heart of gold and are incredibly hard working, the management are supportive.

Abuse and neglect.

FROM LOTUS HOMECARE
Tomorrow the 9th of May 2025 my mum leaves Lotus Homecare Rotherham I cannot put into words the treatment she has received from this company, she has been assaulted, by male sponsored workers, had 2 sponsored workers fighting over her bed, had a male sponsored worker pull her trousers and underwear down in her front room while he pulled her soiled pad out from between her legs, her dignity and her asking him to stop did not matter he wasn't taking no for a answer
My mum has been overdosed with lorazapam being given 4 tablets a day instead of 1 tablet when needed
She was left to eat food with her own excrement on her hands, she uses her hands to eat as she has dementia, the same night she was left sitting bolt upright with her tea table across her legs she was found slumped forward her face in her dinner over 12 hours later
She has had to have an ambulance called due to being given massive amounts of sugar, she's diabetic
The ambulance service 111 doctors and her own gp have all reported lotus on Safeguarding concerns on 3 separate occasions
I genuinely liked Emma the manager but she's ignored and overridden so anything you speak to her about isn't actioned I believe she is a good carer and has helped with my mum many times as they do not have enough staff to care for the service users so everything is rushed never doing the full call so they are gaining monies from the local authorities fraudulently when the calls are minutes instead of hours
My mum was frequently left in soiled clothing (she is doubly incontinent and uses a catheter so cleanliness is a priority, the carers pretend they can't tell she needs changing) and have to be asked to help me change her
Lotus show no regard towards the elderly and their home dirty pads left I
in the house bin toilet, full of urine
unflushed, my mum is left unshowered when her regular carer is
off, we are not rasist in anyway but the sponsorships they use don't want to work in care they want to be in the UK unfortunately it's our elderly who are suffering from neglect, white carers sat playing on their phones not saying a word to my mum who is an alzheimer’s sufferer a
A carer shouting abuse at my mums neighbours because she'd been politely asked to remove her car as she'd blocked their driveway
This company should not be allowed to go near vulnerable adults
I have to admit I a very heated voice mail I called them a holes and was telephoned the day after and threatened with the police, I only wish they had carried out the threat as the police I spoke too agreed with me and told me to call them if men were sent again to abuse her against her will her human rights are being breeched, as you can imagine I have plenty more incidents and could go on and on but if you care for your loved one send them away

Local authority should withdraw lotus from providing care to vulnerable people

Lotus Homecare continuously accepts care contracts from the local authority without a structured plan to ensure calls are attended at the times specified by the social care team. As a result, they frequently breach contractual agreements by sending staff whenever they can fit someone in, rather than adhering to agreed schedules. Additionally, they often disregard client preferences, such as sending male caregivers to individuals who have explicitly requested female-only care, particularly for personal care needs.

Staff are overworked, expected to cover excessive hours for minimal pay, with mileage reimbursement as low as 27p per mile—an inadequate rate given current economic conditions. The company routinely accepts care packages with little to no notice, sometimes beginning service the same day, before a care plan or risk assessment has been completed. This means caregivers are sent into unknown situations without adequate preparation, potentially compromising both staff and client safety.

Despite leaving multiple reviews across various platforms, the company has responded with threats of legal action. However, after seeking legal advice, I understand that as long as my statements are factual, they do not constitute defamation. I will continue to share my experiences to raise awareness.

I am also in the process of formally reporting these concerns to the local authority in the hope that they will terminate contracts with Lotus Homecare and prevent further mismanagement of care services.

Feedback from previous employee

A former employee, who briefly held a management-level position within the organisation, has raised serious concerns regarding their employment experience. According to their account, the working environment was characterised by excessive pressure, unrealistic performance targets imposed by senior management, and a culture of unpaid overtime. The individual reports being regularly required to work from 7am until late into the evening, with no meaningful opportunity for breaks — conditions which, if accurate, would raise questions about compliance with basic employment standards.

The overall workplace culture was described as toxic, with reports of unprofessional communication from both peers and senior leaders. Specific concerns were raised regarding the behaviour of certain senior managers, citing instances of condescension and unprofessional remarks during routine interactions.

Although the organisation operates within the care sector, the review asserts that financial performance was routinely prioritised over the welfare of clients. It was alleged that care staff were routinely overloaded with appointments, leading to inconsistent and inadequate care delivery. Additionally, the training provided to staff was described as insufficient, leaving both office and field-based employees underprepared for the demands of their roles.

The former employee also alleged that the organisation actively seeks to suppress critical feedback from both current and former staff. Specifically, it is claimed that employees are discouraged from leaving honest reviews and that individuals who do so face the threat of legal action, even when their reviews reflect truthful personal experiences.

Further concerns were raised regarding the accuracy of publicly available feedback, with the suggestion that multiple five-star reviews appeared to have been posted in suspiciously coordinated bursts, raising questions about their authenticity.

In relation to safeguarding and regulatory compliance, the individual reported submitting a formal complaint to the relevant regulatory body, highlighting concerns about the adequacy of care being provided to vulnerable clients. The review also suggested that the company routinely bids for additional care contracts without ensuring it has the capacity to fulfil them, despite already struggling to meet existing commitments due to staffing shortages.

The reviewer did acknowledge the efforts of the local branch manager, describing them as supportive and hard-working, but alleged that the wider culture of micromanagement and unattainable targets from senior leaders made it impossible for the branch manager to effectively manage operations.

Finally, it was alleged that the advertised “Deputy Manager” role was misleading. According to the review, the position more closely resembled that of a care coordinator, with additional responsibilities added — but without the necessary pay, resources, or support to fulfil the broader remit.

Horrendous care from York branch

Horrendous care from York branch
Do not leave your loved ones in the care of these untrained so called carers who rarely keep to arranged times and often leave my mother with no food until after 11am or wake her up at 7am to fit in with their shedule. They often stay for just a few minutes when they supposed to stay 1.3/4 hrs per day then charge for the full amount.I could go on but if you value your loved one at least check with other families that are using them

Don't use lotus goole

Absolutely diabolical company, we had the one in Goole. No communication, we were always ringing them about our dads care or..not turning up on time, never been told about time change, even though it could be well over an hour. His dementia wasn't passed into the carers, so we were constantly having to tell new carers...big staff change of carers...in the end changed his care package only to find out he had bad sores that should have been dealt with

Wouldn't advise working here.

To work for this company are poor, they lie about training they don't tell you in any shape or form that that one training day you have to pay over £300 if you quit within 6 months. They tell you you are working in your own local area then send you over 17 miles out of your way, they don't pay any mileage. And they advertise they pay £9.55 but in reality you get around £8.30.

Care package

My mum has been with lotus since 18/12/19 and im not at all impressed with them. So far they turned up late on the first day, second day turned up early. Tonight they turned up an hour and quarter early. Needless to say I sent them packing. I will not allow them to mess my mum about like that. I will be contacting the office first thing in the morning to air my views. They are going to either turn up on the times we were offered or we will be going elsewhere. Beware before accepting a package from this company. If I’d known I wouldn’t of chosen them!

LOTUS sheffield Branch earn money that they do not pay…RUN AWAY!.

LOTUS earn money that they do not pay their employees YOU WILL NEVER BE PAID 9 pound per hour Just calculate

RUN AWAY !!. !!. Check at Indeed where is more veritable reviews I can't attached the link here, just put in indeed or Google 'Lotus home care UK reviews 'and you can see. In Google maps is a lot of fake very good reviews.
(Sincerely if you believe in very little good reviews you been betrayal like me after. Poor/bad people most speciallyat office Sheffield branch). Just customers is really good here.
YOU NEED PAY FOR YOUR DBS CHECK (30 TO 60 POUNDS FROM YOUR POCKET). NEVER GIVE YOU BACK!. DON`T DO TO MUCH SHADOWING BECAUSE YOU WORK FOR FREE, NEVER PAY YOU BACK. LOTUS DO EVERYTHING BAD TO YOU FOR YOU NOT COMPLETE AND NOT SUPPORTS THE 3 PERIOD MONTHS FOR NOT NEED RETURN YOUR MONEY FROM THE DBS CHECK OR PAID YOU FOR THE SHADOWING.

YOU NEVER BEEN PAID WHAT THEY SAY PER HOUR.

Calculate, 15 minutes in this house, 20 in another, 30 in another, 45 min in other one.... you need to relate adding minutes in different appointments and make 1 hour for Lotus pay you 9 per hour.
What i mean?. BETWEEN APPOINAMENT NEVER PAY YOU NOTHING. you can have betwen 5 min to 2 or 3 h or more spaces between appoinaments. So i put a real slave example.

STAR WORK AT 6 AM
18 hour work with some space between appoinaments = you been paid just for 11 hour work.

FINNISH AT 00:00 AM

Never is done and same what they send you in te false weekley routa. Every single moment you been slave for see in the app at what time you finnish and in what time you re start. They never treat you like human. THE EXAMPLE I PUT BEFORE IS IN ONE "NORMAL" WEEK WORK WITH THEM.

6 (or 7) days a week every week you wake at 5 am (you star work at 6 am) and most of the times you need to finnish at 10 pm but is never like that because in the app they attachd you at the same moment 2 or 3 appoinaments. like = 06:00 am to 06:30 am x house - 06:35 am to 06:50 am D house - 06:35 am to 07:00 am G house.

MOST OF THE TIMES LIKE THAT. YOU NEED BE MAGICIAN OR PAY UBER OR TAXI FROM YOUR POCKET!!. ALL IS FROM YOUR POCKET AND THEY NEVER PAY YOU PROPALLY
!!!! NEVER!.

All what they putt in the app is false, route false!. I recommended for people want to work or work there already to make picture IN EVERY HOUSE WHEN THEY SING IN A PAPER check what time is at this moment, what time do or another co worker writte in that paper and saving, after check in the app MOST OF THE TIMES IS ALL DIFFERENT.

LOTUS earn money at your expense EVERY TIME.

in any other job even with the MINIMUM WAGE (8,21 pound per hour) you would earn about minimum 60 pounds to 80 pounds a day.
NEVER IN LOTUS. THINK MOST OF THE TIMES MAYBE YOU WIN A DAY BETWEEN 34 TO 40 POUNDS. Some days maybe more but is if you work "double" thats is YOU WORK 16 OR 18 HOURS AND THEY PAID YOU LIKE 11 WORK HOURS.

Honestly, I have all the evidence. If someone wants to contact me, I have no problem showing them.

RUN AWAY!!. HAVE TO SAY THE TRUTH TO PREVENT THIS. TELL THE TRUTH FOR STOP THIS FRAUD COMPANY.

the most incredible thing is that they claim to be associated with the NHS!!!. unbelievable....
