I received an e-gift card from Rakuten which I redeemed on my Lyft app. However, the credit never appeared in my wallet and I have been going round and round with their 'customer service' trying to get this credit applied- to no avail. I went as far as to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Lyft never even responded to their inquiry. For the 1st month, I could not even get Lyft to respond to me. Now, if and when someone responds they ask the same question as the representative before them though I've already answered and provided the evidence requested. It is now obvious to me they just want me to 'drop it' by never caring enough to truly look into my issue. Such a poor follow through by them is exasperating and disappointing. Now 2 months later I am going to attempt to file a small claims action. We'll see how that goes....

I will never use Lyft after what I witnessed today! I would give-100 stars! I witnessed a young person who got a Lyft to pickup empty, folded moving boxes. The young person advised the driver they were picking something up and would need the use of the trunk. When the lyft driver saw the boxes, he started to pull away! He then stopped, got out of the vehicle and said no! He stated it was his vehicle and left! Leaving this young person stranded! Perhaps this driver needs to find other work! Horrible, horrible experience!

💲Too Greedy!

I used to like lyft because they were the cheaper option. Now they are the more expensive option, just to go 2 miles down the street they're charging $43.00 that's highway robbery.

I took lift March 8 when I book it's $5.59 and after I was dropped off I was charged $10.59 which included unauthorized tip $5 which I never authorized to pay the driver, I have reached out to customer service, yet I was told tip was added by myself which I didn't, it's the app having issues or customer service doesn't care to resolve the issue matter, I will not take there service anymore.

Overcharge

I have been using ride shares for years and never had a sketchy overcharge like this ride. The details are on 3/3/26, I was picked up at Dallas Love airport & dropped off in Waxahachie. It was supposed to be $48 for 35 mile ride and just under 1 hour. Lyft charged me for 68 miles & 1 hour & 51 minute ride. I complained about the fare being twice as much for an extra ride I did not take. They will not make it right saying oh well the navigation sticks sometimes.

Lyft reponse below:

Thank you for reaching out to Lyft Support,

I understand that you have a concern regarding charges.

I appreciate you sharing your concerns regarding the ride from Dallas Love Field Airport on March 3rd.

I’ve thoroughly reviewed the trip on my end, and I’d like to clarify what happened. According to the ride details, you were picked up at 6:01 PM and dropped off at 8:06 PM, and the system recorded a total distance of approximately 68 miles with a duration of 1 hour and 51 minutes. This is why the app displayed a longer route than what you actually experienced.

I completely understand that your actual trip was only about 35 miles, directly from the airport to Waxahachie, and I recognize how concerning it must be to see an additional route showing a return toward the Dallas Love area — especially when you did not travel there.

What likely occurred is that the GPS system continued to track movement even after your drop‑off was completed, which can occasionally lead to inaccurate route recordings. This would explain the additional mileage and time shown in the app.

Please rest assured that you were only charged for the finalized trip amount, which totaled $93.35, and this includes airport fees, surcharges, and tolls. I also see that your $10 coupon was successfully applied.

Thank you for your patience, and please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns—I’m here to help.

Yeesh

Yeesh. Guess I'm not the only one furious with Lyft. I use a service that provides rides to/from dr appointments via my Medicare/Kaiser coverage. They paired me with Lyft for appointment yesterday. Said they were coming, then they'd be 25 mins later, then didn't come at all. I waited 3 months for this appointment, and had to reschedule for mid July. They book way out for specialists. Driver wouldn't pick up or answer texts. Spent 45 minutes this morning texting with Lyft, who didn't know what happened. Told them to fire the driver because he has caused me to suffer ongoing pain for 5 more months because he never came. This is the second time they stranded me!
Spoke to Kaiser and they will take Lyft off the list of providers for me so I won't go through this again. They have had numerous complaints exactly like mine by Lyft. So beware! If you have the same setup I do you can get them off your list by contacting Kaiser. They did it right away.

No assistance.

Unauthorized activity. Will not assist. Global outsourced customer service doesn't care. They can't speak English well, and don't read what you type. You have to repeat yourself several times, then they end the chat on you after 45 minute wait time. They won't allow escalation to a manager. Zendesk garbage customer support.

Lyft is so terrible

Lyft is so terrible. I never even got a ride! I booked a ride and it kept saying it would let me know when the driver was on its way. Then it would cancel it and when I tried to book it again it doubled in price! How shady this company is. Then it booted me out again and asked me where I wanted to drive to for a 3rd time. This time the price more than doubled. I would avoid this company at all cost. They have terrible reviews for a reason. There are better companies out there for sure.

Lied about Airport $100 Guarantee

Their website “promises” $100 credit if your driver is 10minutes late for the airport. After 10 minutes I chatted with I assume a AI bot that told me to schedule a new ride. I got an Uber instead. 20 minutes later while already at the airport I get a notice that a 2nd Lyft driver is at my home. I never ordered it. Nor was I told a 2nd one was being sent. Then after over an hour chatting with an alleged “Live Agent” I was told the $100 Promise did not apply to me due to my ride count. I have used Lyft a few times so was insulted. This was a nightmare and the Chat “bots” or “live agents” took an eternity to send each reply. Never again!

Driver NO SHOW

We, a 72 year old Georgia couple, scheduled a month in advance a ride from Albany, NY airport to a vacation spot. We received multiple messages confirming pickup, but at last minute, LYFT messaged us, “Trying to locate a driver”. We had to frantically find alternative transportation to airport to avoid another night lodging & flight changes. We tried contacting LFFT several times to voice our frustration & them canceling at last minute. The only contact is through “chat”, Chatted w/ several different people for over an hour, their only resolution was $50 LYFT cash, which we’ll not need, since we don’t plan on their services again. We scheduled a ride in advance for peace of mind, yet situation turned nerve wracking with a last minute no show of driver. Can’t recommend their services in the future

Charged me for a ride I never took

Got a charge on my account for a ride that I did not request and was not anywhere near the pickup location for at the time it supposedly occurred. Reported it immediately through the app and was told the investigation would take three to five business days. Eight days later I was informed the charge was valid based on their records. Their records are wrong. Have now filed a dispute through my bank because the in app process went nowhere and the customer service email responses read like they were generated by someone who did not read my complaint. Deleted the app.

BAD...Cigarette smell

As soon as I got in the car i could smell something familiar and as he started driving away, I said "do you smoke and he said yes. So i knew the Roncie smell was from cigarettes. Yuk. I had to cover my mouth and noise the whole way home from with the front of my shirt from carmax hulan to cleburne.
This was my first time to need a ride from lift. It will be my last. This guy should NOT be allowed to drive customers. I have asthma and bronchitis so this was so hard. Headache bigtime...eyes watering...wow. worst experience ever...
