MacsAdventure ensured everything ran smoothly and were always there to help. Great B&Bs, faultless luggage transfers, interactive map app that nudged me when I took wrong turnings, all made for a stress free adventure. I can't wait for the next one!

Great, well-organised trip. I booked the Mont Blanc comfort highlights trip and everything went very smoothly. The luggage transfer worked out every day, the app was easy to follow and understand and we liked having a choice of routes to choose from. The food provided at the accommodations was very good (other than in Trient where it was just ok) and the actual accommodation was as we expected - nothing fancy but clean and just what we needed after a day of hiking.

Everything was done just right, from initial enquiry, to being on the trip. Although it was self guided, it still felt like we were being looked after. The app is so clever with the frequent updates. Hotels were all decent with friendly helpful staff. Our last hotel, Le Massif, in Courmayeur was something special.
I'd recommend Macs adventure to anyone and really hope to use again soon.

Macs Adventure organised our holiday to Norway really well. They planned our trip so that we experienced train , bus and ferry journeys and enjoyed traditional , long established hotels on the fjord.
The Macs Adventure app gave us all the detail we required with a daily itinerary , maps and a clear narrative.
We have now used Macs Adventure three times and we have another booked for 2026.
We would highly recommend them to others.

The walks were in beautiful alpine countryside and between villages and towns. These were all accurately described in the materials. Accommodation and transfers were very well organised and help desk available immediately both pre and during the walks

Macs did a great job giving us all the support and information we needed for our self-guided bike tour. The bike hire, transports to and from the cycleway, accommodations, and baggage transfers were really well -organized. We could cycle and explore by day, and enjoy each destination in the evening. Great pub dinners and hearty breakfasts, too. A wonderful way to tour if you are looking for a more active adventure.

Myself and my hubby have travelled with Mac’s Adventures many, many times. We recently cycled through the Loire Valley. It was heaven - so beautiful, perfect weather, great accommodation, lots of cheese, wine and bread with a bit of cycling. We were on cycle tracks, that were easy to follow and kept us away from the roads and we hugged the river for several days. It was everything I could have hoped for. Thank you

This was a most unsatisfactory holiday. In my 50s and 60s I ran regularly and took annual hill walking holidays ( up to 13 miles a day; Moderate with some strenuous days). Having been diagnosed with an occasional heart condition, I now needed an Easy walking holiday, specifically with no significant hills.
I could find very few satisfactory Easy holidays so I was delighted to find the Mac Adventure Burgundy holiday clearly specified as Easy (up to 5 miles a day no significant hills). The crux of the issue was the mismatch between the Easy definition and the actual walking itself which had daily distances of 5, 10,7,10 with significant hill climbs.
Partially I am responsible. . The need to book Eurostar tickets meant I paid the MacAdventure a deposit before I carried out due diligence on the holiday. I had accepted the additional distances which I can walk on the flat lands of Suffolk at this point. But I realised that the the four individual walking days were scored as one Easy and three Easy to Moderate. I should have cancelled the holiday at this point.
However, I paid the balance under pressure to get the holiday. It was only when I loaded the app did I see the elevation charts showing significant hill climbs. Depressed, I wanted to abandon the holiday but couldn’t face losing the full cost.
Inevitably, I got into trouble on the long climb out of St Denis. Some issues at the next accommodation also really affected me and I became extremely distressed. I didn’t walk the remaining days and two months later I have finally put France behind me.
Notes
1 - The MacAdventure Customer Experience lady was very helpful and got me a partial repayment. Bits of the holiday were good especially Beaune and the Beaune hotel. She was also instrumental in getting the category of the Burgundy hotel upgraded - see below. The three stars are for her contribution.
2 - The Easy category will collect some sensitive types like me. So your Easy holidays must match the Easy Category. In the Burgundy case this holiday has been recategorised 'Easy to Moderate’

Mixed experience we are unlikely to repeat.
Some nice surprises on upside with a few hotels even more on the downside.
No handover of explanation of electric bikes first two rides surprised.
We did not feel value add existed in the app or logistics and next time would try to do it ourselves or try someone else.
Don’t perceive Macs customer focused.
Try Bike it app and your own logistics if you have time and inclination.

Easy to book including the add ons we wanted. Each pick up arrived on time, our luggage was in the hotel room on arrival and all hotel bookings were managed for us. The route app was excellent and all walks were fantastic. The two "extra nice" hotels were outstanding and the mountain rifugios exceeded our expectations, the evening meals in the huts were particularly good. We did the dolomites to lake Garda tour and the days in the mountains were some of the best walks we've ever done. Everything was smooth and well considered / paced. Highly recommend.

This WHW (8 hiking days), was my 2nd; I hiked it solo-7 days in 2012. This time, my wife and a HS pal joined the fun. This is an amazing hike for anyone who has a good level of fitness, trained prior to coming to Scotland, and prepares well for each day using the tools Macs provides as well as weather awareness. It does not require technical climbing skills. The route has only gotten better! You will not get lost as the signage has improved, the trail support is solid, and the luggage system is good. Bring an open mind. Each accommodation is charming and unique-not fancy. You may have to wait a bit for your luggage some days. Your fitness level, fatigue level, and the weather will affect each day's hike. Posted distances will be too low based upon where your lodging is. All factors should be taken into account. Ex: Day 2 on our hike this year was hot/full sun. Lunch was too long after Conic Hill without topping out our water supplies; we struggled a bit on the last stretch into Rowardennen. Day 3: many consider to be the toughest day. This can be mitigated by doing the High Route in the AM. I have done Day 3 both ways; each has been wonderful. The 2nd half of Day 3 you have no choice; you will be on a low route. Do what is best for you on Day 3. Do your homework on which lodging you choose as many are not on the trail. Don't complain (post hike)as Macs is very transparent as to the location of all their accommodations. Take advantage of lodgings that have a Drying Room. Pack per Macs suggestions: Rain is part of the experience. Pack midge mitigation items & use them when needed. Then simply relish this wonderful experience! This was my 8th hike using MacsAdventure. I am an experienced traveler with high expectations. I strongly endorse Macs as well as this hike. Our chosen lodgings were as follows: Drymen Inn, Rowardennen Hotel,Ardlui Hotel,Tyndrum Inn, Bridge of Orchy Hotel, Kingshouse Hotel, Highland Getaway, Myrtle Bank Guest House. Thanks Macs!
