Very disappointing in-store experience…
Very disappointing in-store experience at Macy’s. The employees were unhelpful and seemed uninterested in assisting customers. Long wait times and poor service. I do not recommend this location.
I tried to order a gift card on Macy's…
I tried to order a gift card on Macy's online using my credit card. The order was declined. I called my bank--NO, the credit card was fine! It was Macy's that declined, despite my filling out all the required information correctly. I then had to spend an hour on the phone (I tried CHAT first, but they kicked me out of the system), first with customer service, then security, and FINALLY was able to enter the order! What a disaster! Why offer online sales if they are declined with no explanation! A terrible experience!
Bad Experience
I was in Macy's this morning in Colonie,NY. And a gentleman from the mens suits department couldn't have been any less helpful in trying to help me with some questions and ultimately a clothing exchange. He continued to tell me that the item i wanted to exchange was not in stock (which I later found out that it actually was) he just decided that it was too much work to check the inventory to see if the item was in store. Eventually he told me I was wasting my time and I should go to customer service. I don't know how this cashier even has a job. Awful shopping experience!!
I did a lot of Christmas shopping…
I did a lot of Christmas shopping online nd have no complaints whatsoever. I was able to shop at my leisure, find what I was looking for in stock, and have it delivered as expected. I think online is the way to go. I also did some Christmas shopping for myself.
Worst customer service ever I had…
Worst customer service ever I had nothing but problem after problem 1st they wouldn't let me cancel because it was past 30 minutes 2nd they are showing shipping will take for 1 item 13 days and other item 14 days which was suppose to be delivered on Dec 24th not the 30th and 31st I talked to so many people its unreal two by phone in which they said they would get back to me but never and many times in chat box no one would help solve my problems everyone says something different pushes you off to the next person they want the customer to do there work there mess ups I will never buy from them again I cant even return a shirt I bought accidentally without waiting then a email shipping return label then taking it to a drop off location most of all these 2 gifts were for my grandson for Christmas but he wot be receiving them till 30th and 31st I don't have no clue why they are shipping separate its a tie and dress shirt I even talked to ups to reroute and you have to pay to get ground service all this is very stressful and uncalled for because of Macy's customer service
Where to begin
Where to begin? Applied for a credit card, approved, received no less than 4 emails and texts about random information. In order to place an order online I was prompted to link my account but kept receiving errors so had to use a secondary email address.
Several hours later I received a shopping pass, the shopping pass doesn't work. More errors. Never received the new cardholder promo information or code. I then signed up for the text messages, hoping I could at least use those promos, nope none of them work, all errors stating "Expired or wrong code." The to top it all off, my temporary shopping pass doesn't work either, stating errors again that my social, address, phone number & birth date must be wrong!
I have now gotten the run-around with 3 different Macy's reps, what a mess and a complete joke, this company is broken! This was my go-to for career/office clothing 20 years ago, now I remember why I stopped shopping there & closed my credit card account. What was I thinking???!!!
Macy’s an overpriced ghetto store…
This store is going downhill more everyday. Their customer service stinks like a skunk. I bought a ring from them which I can return every so often to get it cleaned, and they are supposed to call to let the customer know when it comes to so it can be picked up. I have yet to have one person calling me when it is ready. I have to keep calling the store, and their lazy ass workers NEVER, EVER pick up the phone, on Cottman Ave and the Blvd. You have a better chance finding a needle in a hay sac then to get your call answered.
I ordered a pair of sandals which they said would come on the 24th of December, for me to wear on Christmas. They had the nerves to send me a casual message, with no apologies, telling me that, now they would arrived on the 29th, not given a care in the world. When asked one of their customers service members to talk to a manager, he lied and told me there were no managers and that they were working alone, that when I cursed the crap out of him and hung up. I called back and a second one dared to tell me I didn’t need to talk to a supervisor when she couldn’t do anything to help. I gave her a piece of my mind, then she put me on hold to get a manager for me, of course, when she came back, she told me her supervisor was too busy and couldn’t talk to me. I cursed her out as well, and hung up on her. If Macy’s needs the customers to stop taking their anger on their workers, they need to do better, and tell their them not to lie to the customers. I was so mad that I told the first one who offered me a 25% off my next purchase, to stick it where the sin does not shine cause I am done with that OVERPRICED second hand store called Macy’s cause I am never spending a dollar more there. I am BOYCOTTING them. Yes, the thousands of bad reviews they have online fit them like a bags of honor.
Don't order from them around Christmas
Don't order from them around Christmas. I ordered weeks in advanced with guaranteed delivery by Christmas. Of 10 items one is set to arrive tomorrow, Christmas Eve, the others are not going to arrive until at least January. The bulk of the order hasn't even shipped yet. I tried to speak to customers service and they told me "there are great sales in stores, you should see if your items are there." They wanted me to go into the Macys stores two days before Christmas to purchase items I already bought online weeks ago. The customer service reps even wrote their dates day first then month. It's clear they have no training. Speaking to them is completely useless, they are beyond ignorant and have no interest in helping you nor do they have the power to do so. At the very least they could offer some sympathy but no, they don't give that. As soon as you start to complain the chat is ended. There is no opportunity to rate the chat, Macys knows how it went. Tried to support a dying store, now I know better.
Customer Service Horrible!
Place an online order for a Christmas gift on December 3rd. Received confirmation by email, delivered in 3 to 5 business days. Perfect! On December 12th, email received delivery date changed to the 19th. Okay, still time. On December 21st, generated email received saying my order was cancelled and a refund will be applied to my card. Now a mad dash to replace that order. I’m sure they knew the item was out of stock prior to my delivery date. Your customer service is horrible! Do better Macy’s.
Today I went to Stonebriar Mall where I…
Today I went to Stonebriar Mall where I bought some jackets. On the shelf where the jackets were displayed, it was clearly written 50% off. I liked the jackets and picked them up.
When I went to the cashier, before using my Macy’s card, I clearly told her that I was only using the card for rewards and that I did not want to pay with it, because many times I forget to make the payment. I told her that I wanted to pay with my regular card.
Even after I explained this, she still processed the payment using my Macy’s card. When I told her again that I had already said I did not want to pay with that card, she canceled the transaction. After that, I paid again using my normal card.
When I received the receipt and checked the prices, I noticed that the 50% discount was not applied. I went back to the sales floor and informed them. The manager was also present. They went to the rack from where I picked the jackets, and it was confirmed that the 50% discount was correct, so they adjusted the bill.
I also had $40 in shopping rewards, which were used.
All of this happened because of the cashier’s mistake, yet she said to me that I was trying to get free money. The cashier’s name is Lorena.
I remained very calm throughout the situation, even though my card was swiped multiple times and transactions were canceled. Her behavior can put any customer into depression, especially someone who has never taken even a penny dishonestly.
Please help an honest customer who did nothing wrong.
Lied about shipping time and refused to re-ship
I placed an order on 12/17 and paid for PREMIUM 2-3 Day Delivery to arrive by 12/22-12/23 latest. Instead of shipping premium 2-3 day like I paid for they shipped it regular ground so that package is not expected to arrive until 12/29. I called on 12/19 and requested the order be re-shipped with expedited delivery so I would have it within the original timeframe. The representative promised it would be re-shipped for delivery on 12/22 and that I would receive tracking. Well it's 12/22 and I have not received tracking as promised. I called and was informed the prior rep lied to me and that they refused to re-ship the order since the original was still in transit. Bottom line is they could have intercepted the original and re-shipped this with expedited delivery to make the promised arrival date. Horrible customer service that cannot understand English.
I tried to give Macy's some business but they are clearly not up to the task. I will go back to Amazon who knows how to provide customer service and never shop Macy's again. Sorry to see the absolute decline of this one time very good major US retailer.
Poor quality.
I have ordered boots and tops and quality expected from Macy's is below my standards for prices. I got some boots from coworkers for Christmas that zip in back and when you put your foot in, they do not zip up. Bad , cheap, crooked zipper.
Someone applied for a Macy's credit…
Someone applied for a Macy's credit using my information, and Macy's fraud department refused to address the matter. I was transferred three separate times, put on hold for over two hours, and it was never resolved. Horrific customer service.
I wish I could give zero stars.
I wish I could give zero stars.I ordered 2 sets of king-size pillows on Saturday December 6th. I got an e-mail on December 9th that the pillows were shipped. Two weeks later and it hasn’t even left their warehouse. Of course this is a Christmas present and there is no way I will get it by Christmas, if it ever ships.
I was told by one customer service rep over the weekend that it was supposed to be delivered Monday December 15th. Never came. Another representative said it was set to be delivered Thursday December 18th. Never came. When I checked with UPS they said they never received the package and have no idea why Macy’s is saying it will be delivered this week.
So I called Macy’s and they now say that the package never shipped (even though I got a e-mail telling me otherwise), they can’t locate the package and that it’s “lost” in the warehouse.
I can’t even re-order the pillows because they are “out of stock.”
Macy’s has always had extremely slow delivery but with it being Christmas they should have planned ahead and hired more temporary/seasonal warehouse assistance for the holidays.
Macy's is the the gold standard!
Macy's is the one and only major retailer that truly cares about the satisfation of their customer. Amazon ,Kohls and others should do better- Macy's is the gold standard for sure.
RUINED CHRISTMAS
I ordered the Carolina Herrera lipstick and lipstick case from Macy’s. Macy’s sent the lipstick using a normal carrier (the United States Post Office) but gave the lipstick case to DoorDash. Then DoorDash voided my order without my consent. Macy’s sent me an email saying my return has been accepted. I didn’t return the item. I never received it. This was a Christmas gift and they let DoorDash cancel it right before the holidays with no warning. Now it is out of stock so I can’t replace it. When I try to go to order it from the brand website, they would charge me $10 in shipping. I have the lipstick with no case to go over it. Macy’s will not do anything to rectify the situation. DoorDash also will not help me. Carolina Herrera will not waive the shipping. Now I need to go out of my way to return the lipstick. This situation sucks. I am never ordering make up from Macy’s or any store that can randomly assign DoorDash as a shipping carrier again. Sephora would never let something like this slide. They would’ve offered me a credit or points or something. DoorDash is usually better than this with food orders but this is all their fault and they didn’t offer me anything. Plus the DoorDash customer service guy I spoke to on the phone was acting completely clueless. He could not even wrap his head around the fact that this is not in my normal DoorDash food orders and could’t find the order number and had never heard of Macy’s. YOU RUINED CHRISTMAS.
I wish I could give 0
I wish I could give 0, the worst customer service ever with the worst management.
Bait n switch
Bait n switch.
Order doesn't even ship until after the promised delivery date.
I would never have ordered from them if I knew this.
Now I have to shop again somewhere else and return the orders when they arrive. 3rd time.
Item Never Delivered
I ordered a flatware set from Macy's online. Used OnTrac to deliver. It was marked as delivered. There was a zoomed in photo of my box so as to reveal as little as possible, but you could see another box on top of mine and you could see the flooring was nowhere near my site. Why would there be a second box on top of my one box at the delivery site? They said there was a signature, but no one was there and I was never shown the signature.
