Poor Service, Poor overall Experience

Poor Service, poor experience

I got on the site to order a gift card (large amount). Order went well. Subsequently received a text to confirm I sent the order, responded with it 3 minutes. Hour later receive text, order will be canceled if no response with in 10 min, responded in affirmative within 5 minutes. Later get email - order is canceled. Call customer service told order canceled as I did not respond to text, indicated I had responded. requested a supervisor - spent 15 min, no supervisor available. Will now find another place to spend my money.

On one order they shipped 3 items…

On one order they shipped 3 items separately and charged shipping on each. Horrible company. Their call center employees know nothing about any thing. They keep you waiting as they are checking which takes them forever. Second order was listed as shipped to deliver tomorrow but usps doesn’t even have the order. The isps said they’re waiting for macys to give them the order. I know it’s a busy time but from their robotic system to everything, Macys provides NO customer service. Hope they’re out of business soon. What a joke of a company.

Cannot unsubscribe from Macy's emails

Cannot unsubscribe from Macy's emails. Ordered one item from Macy's. They inundated me with email. I unsubscribed twice but it still keeps coming. I called Customer Service. Tech support line will only assist if you can provide an account number or your social security number. I don't have an account with Macy's. Without that info the system will not put you through to a rep. Called Customer Service again and was told that there is no way to stop these. That they are system generated and I just have to wait for them to stop. Asked if they could put me through directly to Tech Support without going through the accouht number/SSN gate. They couldn't. They can't manage something as simple as an unsubscribe option.

Does Macy's want customers? No. My experience with their customer service was beyond terrible; to top it off, the witch didn't understand the English language. I called, due to a terribly-operating Web site; from ashes, to the flame.

Worst online experience ever

Worst online experience ever! I placed an online order from Macy website(it gave me two options: deliver to my home and pick up from the store. Since I will go to the store anyway, so I choose the pick up option). The order was confirmed successfully. The system shows that it should be ready to pick up on 12/11/2025. However, I didn’t get any update until tonight. The email says that my order got cancelled for no reasons!! This is extremely disappointing and inconvenient. Cancelling my order reflects Macy’s poorly service standards and has caused unnecessary trouble for me! If you are looking to buy something from Macy, be careful that your order may get cancelled later on!

Just cancelled my last ever purchase…

Just cancelled my last ever purchase with Macy's. I bought a holiday gift from them with a Dec 10 ship date. A gift that i could have purchased at 5 other stores for the exact same sales price and had the same day. Dec 10th arrives and they tell me it's delayed indefinitely and I can cancel if I want to.
Now the price is $100 higher for the item everywhere. So by choosing Macy's it cost me $100 extra dollars because they have deceptive dates. I also can see it is in stock at a physical store and they told me they can't change my order from shipping to pickup and I can cancel and place a new order at the higher price if I want to pick up otherwise it will come in January.
Are you kidding me? In this day and age customer service can't switch an order from shipping to pickup? Macy's deserves to go out of business.

Although I do like the items that I…

Although I do like the items that I purchased from Macy's. com and got good deals I was asked to leave reviews for both of my items and after days of one of the reviews being published for the item it was a complete waste of time giving reviews. Apparently they pick out whatever they feel like publishing and print it. My photo was in the guidelines but yet another person's photo was published . I did give a good review but seems like bad reviews are replied to by the seller with rude comments. Why not try telling good reviewers that you appreciate their review instead of nit-picking bad reviews. Makes the company over all look bad. Macy's over the years has become just pure snotty!

I ordered the (very famous) miss Rachel’s tonies box set on Black Friday. They were having a great deal where I could buy a Tonie box with the ms Rachel Tonie and it was 99 dollars (originally 150) on December 2nd I receive an email that says the cancelled my order due to not enough stock and they give me a 25% off coupon ( this would make me buy the set for 112 when I got it for 99) I call customer service and ask why my order was cancelled and if I could at least place another one so I could get it for the same price before the deal ends . They place another order and I think nothing of it until today (12/12) I check my orders status and find out my order is cancelled again and I was given no knowledge of this .

They will cancel orders and not notify you
They will say they have something in stock but have none of it.

Worst customer service and rude

I placed an order for advent calendar on 11/23 a week later received email it was now delayed an additional
Week and half to 12/10 the on 11/29 it was cancelled but no email or notification to me so when didn’t receive yesterday I went into order today to din it was cancelled two weeks ago
I reached out to customer service spoke to 3 people and only thing they said was once back in stock you can reorder
What??!!
Horrible customer service
Wouldn’t even rate it 1 star
I ordered a lot from Macy’s and will never again after this one experience

Wrong address!!

I ordered over $195.00 worth of merchandise online on 12/7/25 and they sent the entire order to the wrong address!! They refused to send items to correct address! They also refused to issue me a refund so they could see if items were sent back from wrong address. If you received free merchandise will you send them back to store?? In today’s society most people will keep free stuff😡😡. Now Macys said I have to wait until after December 18, 2025 to see if they will be nice enough to refund my money!!! Don’t waste your time and money at Macys. Their customer service is awful. I will never shop at Macys ever again!!!!

Be careful

I ordered Mac Mascara on-line, and was told that it was ready for pick-up at the Bowie, MD store. Once there, the rep asked me for the QR code. However, they did not send one, which I relayed to the rep. After about 30 minutes, Macys.com informed me they sent it to my old email address. Finally, I received the Mascara in an old looking box. I was told to take it to the cosmetic counter for an exchange. The rep there instantly just returned it and told me I would have to buy another one in the store, and that she could look up my Macy's card. I refused and asked for the manager. Long story short the manager gave me a $10 convenience credit to buy it with another credit card. Once home, I saw dust in the box and decided to check the manufacture date. The Mascara was manufactured nine months ago. I was not happy. I called Macys and they had an oh well attitude. I took it back to the store, and they still were not caring that the mascara was old. But they did reissue the $10 credit, but I couldn't use it on anything but some cheap earrings that were on sale.

first time dealing with these clowns

first time dealing with these clowns! ordered an item cancelled it and ordered a different one, idiots sent both and charged me for both! then one package got here all hammered and opened so now my wife knows what i got her, went to return it and they get 10 bucks or i drive 45 miles to the nearest store! looks like there the next box store to go under! yea and wait till u try to talk to someone! fugettabuddit!

Absolutely horrible customer service

Absolutely horrible customer service. People who answer their phones barely speak English and don't know what they are telling customers and apparently don't understand what customers are saying to them. It has cost me more to return my order than it did to place it, plus I've spent over two hours trying to sort the mess out and the management is useless. I will NEVER order from Macy's again.

Local store refused to allow me to…

Local store refused to allow me to purchase a pick up today item while I was at the store. I was told to go home and order and come back. I did just that, now the order won’t arrive for 11 days and when called CSR I was told I can’t cancel it. I must return it. Never again. Nordstrom just got me $433 order.

Credit problem…

I have been a customer with macys for over 20 years.everything was perfect(quality,price..),but let me tell you,as soon as these small business start selling with macys,the quality drops dramatically.i am so disappointed,adding to that,each time i have a credit from a return that i do,they will send me a check,and sometimes they send an empty check,then you have to go to the store,and ask them to transfer it to a gift card,not just that,but they only give 4 weeks to do so.what a torture.what is this 1920.macys cant credit my Macys card,and use the credit online.

I’ve had a great experience with Macy’s so far. They offer an excellent selection, good prices, and especially great deals during their promotions. There are lots of different savings options and perks, which I really appreciate. Overall, I genuinely like the store and will definitely keep shopping there.

Aiyu is the name of your employee who helped us with our purchases at your store at the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora Illinois on December 2nd 2025. After not so positive experiences with another sales rep, it was like a breath of fresh air interacting with Aiyu. She had a pleasant attitude along with a cheerful demeanor.
