Great Experience!
We had a great time at Mama Florence’s cooking class! The building had a great atmosphere and a garden area in a historic part of the city. The staff was welcoming and everything was well organized. They were knowledgeable and also fun to learn from.
The class was very hands on, and we were each involved in every step of the process in preparing the dishes. We learned a lot about the techniques for preparing food. The right way to knead, use a knife, etc.
We ended the class with a 3 course meal with all the participants. Overall, I highly recommend Mama Florence.

Magnificent experience.
Magnificent experience.
Stefano, the chef, is very approachable, friendly, and professional.
We spent a fantastic afternoon together, and I believe it’s very useful for anyone who wants to approach Italian cuisine. Even though I don’t have much experience in cooking, I had a lot of fun and learned a lot.
I also found it very helpful and lovely that we were given the recipes for everything we cooked together during the class: I’ll try to cook everything on my own at home.
I recommend this experience to everyone!

Disgraceful company
I cancelled my cooking class and Gelato tour because sadly we had to cancel our family trip to Italy due to my father in law being in the ICU. The company wouldn’t refund us and when they agreed to a partial credit they then renagued. The shouldn’t call themselves “mama” as they don’t care about family.
I JUST READ THE COMPANIES RESPONSE and here are a few follow ups.
-I cancelled because my father in law is fighting for his life in the ICU and we had to cancel our trip. This was cancelled 12 days before we would be in Italy.
-the company said kept emailing me and reneging on their offer!!!!! I agreed to lose half my money on a cooking class and a full refund on a walking tour (because company has no costs of food and rentals).
-the huge language barrier is difficult with this company causing issues with settling for something that is fair and kind.

We are truly sorry for the difficult circumstances that led to the cancellation of your trip. We fully understand how challenging such situations can be and approached your case with empathy and flexibility from the very beginning.
That said, we would like to clarify the facts:
The cancellation occurred more than 20 days after the deadline accepted in the Terms & Conditions at the time of booking.
Despite this, and given the unfortunate situation, we immediately offered a 50% credit, even though all services on our end had been scheduled and paid for and were non-refundable. This meant entirely and absorbing the full cost of the experience on our end.
Unfortunately, and despite the explanation, our offer was rejected. The client demanded a full refund and informed us that a payment dispute would be opened.
At that point, we had to explain that once a formal dispute is initiated, our ability to assist is frozen until the platform’s decision is made.
Our follow-up messages — which remained kind and understanding — were ignored. Our offer was then referred to as “lousy,” followed by the black mail: “I look forward to reviewing you on many platforms” pushing further for a full refund.
Despite the threats, we once again extended a partial goodwill offer. The client declined, continuing to request full compensation, which we respectfully and clearly explained was not possible, as we could not carry the full financial burden for a personal and unforeseeable emergency and only at that point stepped out of the conversation.
Unfortunately, as promised, the client then left negative reviews across multiple platforms, including personal criticism of our name and brand — suggesting we are unfit to use the word “Mama” because we “don’t care about family”. This comment is not only deeply inappropriate and inaccurate, but goes far beyond the scope of the actual issue and enters into a personal attack on our brand, integrity and reputation.
We must respectfully disagree. Our entire team is made up of individuals with families, and we created our policies not to avoid compassion, but to protect both our clients and guarantee services at best and our staff of hard working people. In this case, we went beyond our obligations to offer a resolution that was fair and empathetic under the circumstances.
We are sincerely sorry that this situation ended in frustration, but we stand by the care and professionalism with which we tried to handle it.

The absolute best cooking class I have ever been to! Chef Stephano and the entire team were amazing and so engaging and entertaining! The food we made was absolutely delicious! If you’re visiting there, please put it at the top of your list to schedule a cooking class with them!

Organized schedule with an attractive setting. Instructor Roberto was a super chef and easy to understand, plus his recipes were very delicious. We enjoyed meeting the other guests and together produced a wonderful meal.

Super fun!
My girlfriend and I were super excited to attend this cooking class April 24. It far exceeded our expectations! It was informative, fun and very delicious! I recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun, authentic cooking experience in Italy.

We loved this cooking experience and would definitely do it again. We enjoyed the walking tour of the market and getting to explore it before it got crowded. You got be hands with the cooking and they explained everything very well. It was one of our favorite activities of Florence.

My husband and my friend and I had a great class with Filipo and Patricia. We had fun and learned a lot and ate a fantastic dinner of the beautiful food we had helped prepare. Charlie said it was the most fun he had in Florence! I agree! Stupendo!
