Great Experience

Raw alpaca fleeces

I bought two alpaca fleeces from Marie. They were dispatched the same day and arrived 48hours later. Really excellent quality fleeces with very little veg. Matter and no secondary cuts. A really easy transaction.

WARNING !!!!!!

So you may have noticed that I’ve made many bad reviews about Marie reading arts, this is because this lady hasn’t sent me my £192 worth of products that I ordered in February , I want to worn every one that although lots of people have recieved their orders many of us haven’t you just need to check out her Etsy account , so a warning not to give this lady business as you could be the next victim. I’m coming here because she is ignoring all contact I make and she leaves me no choice , it’s very sad and the trouble with Marie is that she always has an answer or blames someone else or just lies.

I sent a replacement for the original parcel as you are aware, which went into a Royal Mail black hole for almost 2 months and was delivered to you last week that is now your whole order received plus extra items. I did my very best and you have received your order, you can see clearly on the tracking the order was posted at the post office several months ago and only was delivered last week. I'm really sorry about that but glad you now have your complete order. Thank you for supporting my business.

Marie is a great seller

Marie is a great seller. I needed to know about a specific item and she responded to my query very quickly. I bought a needle felting shaping tool which was very well made. My item was delivered by Royal Mail tracked and arrived very quickly. Marie has a wide variety of tools and materials for needle felting. I recommend this seller and I will be purchasing from her again.

Avoid

I ordered from Marie's Etsy shop and her online shop, nothing arrived. I was told it had been posted and she would share the tracking number, she didn't. I placed my order on the 8th may and have just had a refund from Etsy (but no refund for the online shop order of £17.50) with no explanation. Wish I'd read trustpilot first. In answer to your reply Marie, I've checked my messages and you do not mention anything about lost in the post. You ask me to change my feedback and lie.

Hi Jacqueline. Your original order came back damaged, and I sent it again myself on a tracked 48 service, way before you decided to use the etsy case system to get a full refund.

You then promised to pay again and change your reviews but did not. What a shame as you seemed very genuine.

I don't think 14 working days is a long time for a damaged parcel to come back, and for a tracked replacement to be sent. I know amazon has given folks other expectations but they are not realistic. I really care about my customers and orders and most things are hand made or hand dyed and take time and care to put together. I do make mistakes but always do my best. I can't control customers who have unrealistic or unreasonable exceptions or are not honest and just wish for a refund. I always am happy to meet folks deadlines if I am told, but if not, orders are generally dealt with in the order which they come in.

I do my best but can't do more than that. Thank you to all of my genuine and kind customers.

Great materials for spinning yarn

Beautifully coloured materials arrived exactly as expected and as described for spinning into yarn. Very obliging seller who quickly replaced a parcel lost in the post. Lovely communications, and very helpful. Bought twice now, and very happy 😊

Not what I expected

Ordered on etsy 2 500 g bags of Bowmont Merino fleece.
First 500 g bag was okay, little VM, not much shortcuts, very soft as expected.
Second 500 g bag was not what I expected. Wool from another fleece so I can't make what I planned.
It was very dirty and contained many shortcuts.

Edit: I have sent you two emails asking for photos of the fleece you say was not what you ordered, but have had no reply at all back. Mistakes do happen I am not infallible, but unless you message me with details and pictures then I can't obviously replace this. You ordered 1 kilo of fleece, and I sent almost 1400g of fleece divided between 2 bags in one package this to account for wastage. I don't send any fleece out covered in poop although this is raw fleece i do skirt it of course. If you wish a replacement you'll need to contact me please. Best practice on buying any raw fleece, if you aren't happy with it then you need to contact the seller with photos before you wash it and after opening the package as it makes it hard afterwards .... and if you do what you've done here, and don't connect with me to tell me there is an issue at all, then of course I can do nothing

Pictures better than reality. Buyer beware.

I had reviewed on April 10/25 as I had not received my order by the due date of Apr 3/25 after paying additional shipping for a "tracked" package, and I'm editing this review May 8/25 after having processed and spun a wool batt I received. The seller claimed my order had been sent and was due to arrive Apr 3rd. After repeated requests, Ms. Redding eventually supplied a tracking #, that wasn't mine, and was delivered somewhere else. After reading many other reviews, I realized this seller has so many packages go "missing" that the odds of it being real are astronomical. My actual package was shipped via Royal mail on Apr 12th with automatic tracking #... 9 days AFTER it was supposed to be here. I ordered 8 custom designed batts for spinning. I weighed them upon arrival and they weighed between 49g to 59g, and only 2 resembled what I bought. When I unrolled one of the batts to start spinning I found poor quality fibre, long-wool coat hairs & tips mixed in, slubs, short off cuts, and it looked like the carder wasn't cleaned before my batt was done as there was a clump of residual fibre that didn't match anything I ordered. Before leaving reviews for the products on Etsy, I took photos and consulted another spinners group I belong to, and all of the feedback supported my thoughts concerning a poorly manufactured batt, the layers barely blended and using low quality wool ends. I put the remainder of the batt through my own carder to make it easier to pull off hanks for spinning and it went through twice to align the fibres and remove more of the outer guard hair (could be Llama), and lost a total of 5g in fibre that couldn't be spun. I put it out for the birds to take. Her products look gorgeous but many of her customer review photos do not show items received that match the quality or the colours shown on her website. Six of the eight batts I ordered do not resemble what was advertised to the point I had trouble matching them up. A product received that is not as advertised (within reason) is grounds for a complaint to Etsy. When someone complains, like in this review, or the ones I left on her website, the seller claims she was unaware of the problem; but she is the one packaging and sending the items so yes, she is aware. She also advises other buyers to not pay attention to my reviews, and claims she doesn't understand why I am being so "mean" to her, and then compares me to Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk for misinformation!! I'm Canadian, as she is fully aware and I'm not the one whose product qualifies for false advertising. As the seller she has an obligation to supply a product that matches what she advertised and to provide swift and quality customer service; I got lots of stories like her comments below regarding being a small business owner. This seller is unaware that I too am a small business owner and I ensure our customer service is top notch. Bottom line, if you provide a quality product in a timely manner, that IS customer service, and you would rarely need to fix anything. Do yourself a favour and read the other reviews, it's a crap shoot on what you might experience - some people might actually get products that match what she is selling. I did not, and I stand by my comments.

hi Sharon thank you for putting up a photo of the batt in your review which clearly shows that you got the correct batt! I'm honestly stunned by your feedback, I clearly state the labels are only supplied upon request for environmental reasons. you got exactly what you paid for, they are all hand carded so have small variations in colour etc, like any art product. I stand by my business and offer full back up so you could have returned these but you chose to place 8, 1 star reviews I do not know why. these arrived quickly for international shipping in these current times. This is good quality wool, silk and some is native uk breeds which I have hand dyed and those can be shorter staple so I think you are not aware of that. Other buyers, please do ignore these reviews, I don't know why this customer has been so unkind but I rely entirely on this small business to support my family and have many, many happy customers who come back time and again and always offer a refund and return if folks choose to take me up on it. thank you everybody else for supporting my tiny business and making sure this world is not entirely full of the likes of huge mega business, and leaving room for artists like me. Some people cannot be pleased at all and sadly you are one of them. If you want the world to be full of folks like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk then putting nasty and untrue reviews like this is a good way to start.

I was very upset to see your review. There will always be bad reviews as every business has them no matter how small or large but it just harms the small ones the most and can put them out of business. Plus there's always 2 sides to everything and no matter how one tries, one can never please everybody. 

I have emailed you a screen shot showing I sent a parcel to your correct address.  

The World is in chaos right now and I like a lot of folks are doing our best and that's what I'm doing too. 

International shipping can be a pain at times but I always come through. I used to ship without tracking but now don't like to if an order is over 250g in weight as its too risky with how rubbish Royal mail can be, and also customs delays. I ALWAYS Put enough excess goods in folks parcels to totally offset any tracking costs. 

I can well understand your frustration at the delay in your project but I hope I do not deserve to have my business and livelihood harmed in any way whilst I sort this out for you.

Also I am private about my disability and it's an explanation not an excuse so that was pretty upsetting as well as its hurtful to see it discussed in your review.   

I have over six THOUSAND reviews on etsy, and 4.68 percent are 4 or 5 stars. Bearing in mind also that folks 50 percent of the time if they are happy make a one off purchase (purchase as guest) and don't come back to put a good review if they are happy and have checked out as a one off. 

Also bearing in mind, any bad reviews are skewed because those folks have an axe to grind and can put on multiple bad reviews for one order. I don't think 9 people on trustpilot over 5 years , weighed against 6 thousand reviews, is representative. 

You have not lost your money and there's no risk in waiting for a bit longer. If you aren't happy with your order when your items arrive, then return them it's simple and get a refund from me.  I stand by my products and in all the time I've been doing business have only had a handful of folks who have ever wanted to.

Cannot stop buying from this site

I cannot stop buying from this site. The wool is 5* quality. The colours and blends are like nothing l have seen before. The price is extremely affordable on unique blends. Also purchased some wooden items which are again, great quality.
A friendly and pleasant shopping experience. I am addicted to all the colours!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I'm a beginner to spinning

I'm a beginner to spinning and I've found Marie in a group.. . Best find ever , beautiful wool, silks and blends . I've found alsorts for felting and spinning .I recently brought two sheepskin and oh my giddy aunt they are Lush so beautiful and soft and the finish is the best ever . . . I've got another one on the way. I thought I'd be cheeky and ask if Marie sold that sparkly blending stuff you mix with yarn to spin. Oh yes she does and well I'm going to be busy for awhile . Every product I have brought has been100% quality.
I will be buying from Mariereddi garts for a long time.

Lies and victim mentality

She lied constantly about the state of my package. She kept promising me the tracking number, and then, after a week of constant messages to her, she claimed there was a "misunderstanding" and that she didn't have it. I was very polite in my messages, as was she, but my increasing frustration and her ever larger excuses finally grew to much. Over three weeks after I had ordered and paid for the item I told her she had until a given time that day to give me the number or I would escalate the matter. Miraculously, she posted the package mere hours later. However, as a result of the long delay I lost a commission which forced me to open a case with Etsy. They refunded me and covered the costs for her. I think that may be her actual game: wait so long that the customer can open a claim, get paid anyway, and then claim the customer got their package for free at her cost. As an added bonus, she can discredit the negative reviews as dishonest customers and double down on what a victim she is.

Hi I'm sorry you feel that way. This was an international order to a country i had a 2 to 4 week delivery transit time, and at the time of your order had a 2 week processing time as I work alone. I always tell folks to let me know if they have a deadline, but you did not or I would have tried to meet it or cancel your order.

I don't think it's moral to keep an item after you've also been refunded, it hurts small businesses and I am not Amazon. When purchasing international items you need to have a fair expectation of delivery time thank you

Excuse after excuse

Ordered item from Etsy 20th September,not received by 5th October said that post must have been delayed. Did not have any of the item ordered but would send alternative colour. Still nothing by 12th October so I got in touch and apparently seller had Covid and didn’t want to touch anything would post asap. Eventually received 23rd October, and no sign of original package, save yourself the hassle and order elsewhere!

Hi Laura you placed this order September 2023, and you received your nepps a month later in October 2023. The total order including postage, came to 5 gbp approx which is why I send on the untracked second class service unless you want to pay for the shipping upgrade. (At that time I had a 2 week processing time on my orders) You told me it had not arrived, and so I replaced it which you then received. This is as good customer service as I think you'll find anywhere, considering I'm not Amazon but an individual. I question why you were so annoyed by this that you felt it necessary to place such a bad review over one year later over a £3 product which you did receive over 15 months ago and never sent me any message at all to say you were unhappy. I do hundreds of transactions with very happy customers but sadly not everyone can be pleased, no matter how hard one tries.

You need the patience of Job ...

Having made 2 orders early in 2022 which arrived successfully, I felt confident to go ahead and place an order later on in the year for quite an expensive piece of equipment which was to be a present from my husband for Christmas.

Nothing happened for several weeks, so I began chasing. I was told that she had been unwell, that her carpenter had chopped off a finger and that she would keep me posted.

Christmas 2022 came and went, and so did Christmas 2023. The chasing had gone on all year, but she only ever contacted me when her cage was rattled; the response always included some health excuse or family crisis. I was told the item would be with me for Christmas 2023 (15 months after I had ordered it) but it has not arrived. I was fobbed off at one stage with a boxful of 'freebies' which were very nice, but I just wanted my order.
However, having given up hope of a refund, in an effort to recoup the money, I did order 2 other items that I wanted, worth a similar amount to my original order. I stated I would not pay for them until the new year (and only after receipt of item 1). To my amazement item 2 arrived within 2 weeks, but still no sign of item 1 or 3. I don't ever expect to see them, but at least now I am not out of pocket.

I'm afraid doing business with this lady is stressful, tiring, frustrating and unpredictable - unless you like playing games.

Not honest

Smooth and quick communication, but only when it suits her. She loves playing the “Me and my family are so pitiful”-card. Don’t fall for it. What a disappointment.
Addition April 2025: 1,5 years later this lady tried to get my review deleted. Since she did not succeed, she now claims that I never bought from her. This shows that this lady is not averse to lying either.
