I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Marshall BMW Scunthorpe and feel compelled to leave this review after repeatedly being ignored.
Shortly after purchasing my car, I encountered issues that required a warranty claim. Despite several attempts to contact the dealership, I received little to no assistance. It was only after I posted a negative review that the dealership finally responded and agreed to help. At their request, I removed that review once they had engaged with me.
Following the inspection, I was informed that the vehicle required £1,213 worth of repairs just three months after purchase. Thankfully, these repairs are covered under the warranty, but it is unacceptable that a vehicle sold by a main dealer requires this level of work so soon after being purchased.
To make matters worse, I have now been advised that the front brake discs and pads also need replacing. I have driven barely 1,000 miles since buying the car and do not accept that these components have deteriorated to this extent during my ownership. In my opinion, the brakes were already significantly worn when the vehicle was sold and should have been identified and dealt with during the dealer's pre-sale inspection.
I have contacted Marshall BMW Scunthorpe and asked that they cover the cost of replacing the front discs and pads, as I do not believe I should be paying to rectify issues that appear to have existed at the point of sale. Once again, my concerns have been ignored.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a vehicle supplied by a dealer must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. A car requiring over £1,200 of repairs and replacement brake components within three months and around 1,000 miles of ownership raises serious questions about whether these standards have been met.
I appreciate that the warranty is covering the mechanical repairs, but that does not excuse the poor communication or the apparent unwillingness to take responsibility for issues that should arguably have been addressed before the vehicle was sold.
I expected far better from a BMW main dealer. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Marshall BMW Scunthorpe. I will now be considering my options under the Consumer Rights Act should this matter remain unresolved.
EDIT:
I emailed them on the email address provided below on the 1st July as requested. It is now the 16th July and I have yet to receive a response. Please save yourself the hassle, do not buy a car from this company.
EDIT 2:
It is now the 22nd July, and they still refuse to respond to me. I will be escalating to the ombudsman if I do not receive a response soon. Absolute cowboys.

Only giving one star because Google won’t let me give negative reviews. If you are considering buying a car from Marshalls expect them to fall over backwards to get your money however if you need warranty work don’t expect them to help because you can’t get hold of them.
I purchased a car from their Ashford branch before they closed it. The car has had numerous warranty issues that their Tunbridge Wells branch have so far dragged out for nearly 2 years with them only solving 2 leaving multiple ones outstanding. When you phone them they promise you calls back but never call. If you email them they never respond.
My advice if you want an Audi look at dealers outside the Marshalls group or if they are your local dealer save yourself the aggravation and buy another brand of car.

I was first seen to by Ethan who showed me around the car I was interested in,, answering every question I had for him,, Ethan was the reason I went back a few weeks later and ordered the car, I was then dealing with Connor Smith,, a very patient, caring and professional man,, helping me with the online form filling and the features of the new car,, very pleased with the whole experience, ,

If I could give 0 stars I would.
My wife bought a car from Marshall Seat in Leicester in January 2025. 5 months later the clutch completely went, they refused to honour the warranty and we had to fork out another £1500 for the repair. Today less than a year later the same issue has happened again, and the garage are saying they cannot look at the car until September!!
We have driven less than 5k miles since the first repair, so this is not a wear and tear issue, it is a faulty component / poor workmanship issue. This is completely unacceptable, the garage needs to inspect the car and if it's due to the pervious repair or a faulty part that was fitted, it needs to be put right.
It is not reasonable to expect us to wait 3 months for them to even look at the car.

Marshall Cambridge..."Service"
I wrote a review on 18/6 detailing the "service" I received from Marshall Cambridge on a JLR safety recall.Surprisingly,I received a message from Izzy ( who seems to "reply' to most of the negative reviews??? )on 20/6 asking for contact details so that the issue could be investigated.NOT SURPRISINGLY...I have heard nothing since!

I have just bought a new Skoda from Marshall Northampton. Excellent service from Gary Johnson from initial enquiry through to car pick up. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the cars and was a great help in finding the right car for me. A very pleasant experience all round, thanks Gary

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the purchase of our vehicle and the extremely poor level of customer service we have received throughout the entire process.
Following agreement of the sale, the level of service declined significantly. Communication became infrequent, and it quickly became apparent that customer care was no longer a priority.
It is particularly disappointing that these concerns were raised before we had even completed the purchase. Prior to signing the agreement, I emailed our sales advisor to explain how unhappy we already were with the service we had received after agreeing the sale. Despite making the dealership aware of our concerns and giving the opportunity to improve our experience, the standard of service continued to deteriorate rather than improve.
Our test drive experience was unacceptable. Our sales advisor had double-booked appointments, resulting in us being left to carry out the test drive on our own. We waited at the dealership for around three hours, having arranged childcare specifically for the appointment, only to be turned away and asked to continue discussions over email. This caused significant inconvenience and demonstrated a lack of respect for our time.
The vehicle collection was equally disappointing. On arrival, our sales advisor was occupied with another customer, meaning the collection process took approximately two and a half hours. Rather than being a straightforward and enjoyable experience, collecting our new vehicle became unnecessarily stressful and frustrating.
To make matters worse, the dealership did not have the correct version of the V5C logbook available. We therefore had to drive to the local Post Office ourselves to complete the necessary paperwork. We were told that the £25 fee incurred would be reimbursed, but despite emailing and visiting the dealership in person, we are still waiting for this payment. We are also still awaiting the return of our £199 deposit, despite repeated attempts to resolve the matter.
Since taking ownership of the vehicle, we have identified concerns with the brakes. After checking the MOT history online, we discovered that brake advisories had been recorded. We raised these concerns with the dealership and attended the showroom to discuss them, but no resolution has been reached. We are still waiting for the promised telephone call regarding this issue, leaving us with ongoing concerns about the safety of the vehicle.
We were also disappointed that the vehicle was handed over with virtually no battery charge. An electric vehicle should be supplied in a usable condition. Just as a customer would reasonably expect a petrol or diesel vehicle to be supplied with sufficient fuel, we expected the vehicle to have an adequate level of charge on collection.
Following a discussion with Nissan Finance today, we are now seriously considering rejecting the vehicle due to the cumulative issues with both the vehicle itself and the extremely poor level of customer service we have received throughout this process.
Overall, this experience has been incredibly disappointing. We have been left chasing refunds, waiting for promised callbacks that have never materialised, dealing with concerns about the vehicle's condition, and repeatedly following up on matters that should have been resolved promptly. The level of aftersales support has been unacceptable and has fallen well below the standard we expected.
Having previously purchased a vehicle through Renault, we expected a professional and customer-focused experience. Unfortunately, this purchase has reflected very poorly on your dealership and has left us with little confidence in your commitment to customer service.

Dan, the sales rep who sorted me out with a replacement car, was fantastic. He is hardworking, friendly and made the whole experience as easy as buying a car could be.
A few minor niggles with the dealership’s processes (extremely poor part-ex offer, unable to tax the car immediately, and the new car was prepped with inadequate oil) but Dan sorted out everything quickly.
Overall, a good experience, mainly thanks to Dan’s sterling efforts.

One star for taking the money no stars for after care service spending twenty one grand.
No Mot and said there was ( nothing to do with taxing it)
Paid for it as requested then plaid games paying it back, take it on the chin.
Then passed over from sales to whoever wasn't interested in the total break failure the car experienced to a near death experience driving at a crossroads that didn't interest them at all except for " they had less then 80% what do you expect from a old car and it's not an MOT FAILURE
If I was local I would be knocking at your door as I'm sure when passing I will.
Total waste of time from end to end
That's why there called dealers
Go somewhere else or make sure your covered from all angles like it did claiming on RAC for a new battery new key fob and battery still faults with the car to this day that I can't handle myself as Thier childish antics attitude is " what do you expect it's a second hand car " you will here all trades tricks there's another buyer interested, just don't let it be you unless your 100% comfortable with the whole sham of insulting your own intelligence.
Keep up the good work and hope you have a full car lot this summer.

My Range Rover Evogue has been in Marshalls Leicester branch 3 times now to sort a suspension problem and various warning lights. The problem hasn't yet been solved but the most frustrating thing is the lack of communication they are just happy to keep your can and there is no consideration for the owner on whats happening and a simple update. Very Poor Service would i buy a new Range Rover yes would. Would i buy from Marshall Narborough road Leicester Absolutely Not.

Buying a car is supposed to be exciting… and mine certainly had a few unexpected plot twists along the way! 😄 Thankfully, Simon was there every step of the journey. We ran into a few challenges, but thanks to his professionalism, patience, and great communication, we worked through everything together.
Simon was always helpful, responsive, and genuinely committed to making sure everything was resolved properly. In the end, I drove away with a great car and a positive experience.
A big thank you to Simon and the whole Honda team in Peterborough. Highly recommended!

• Purchase experience: Good and smooth, but unremarkable.
• Vehicle presentation: Poor — Car delivered dirty with missing parts.
• Aftercare: Very poor — Communication failures, unanswered emails and inaccurate information.
• Overall: Cowboys (Yee‑haw!). If TrustPilot allowed 0 stars, this would be 0.
I rarely write reviews unless a business is exceptional or terrible, and unfortunately this experience falls firmly into the latter and I wish I was exaggerating.
The purchase process itself was fine, and the salesperson was pleasant enough. Nothing extraordinary but ok.
However once the car was home, the interior was dirty and far below showroom standards. The battery in one of the keys was also flat. Not catastrophic, but certainly not acceptable.
The bigger issue was the missing locking wheel nut. Multiple emails went unanswered, escalations were needed, and I eventually gave up and decided to buy one yourself. What made matters worse was the implication by them that I might have taken it, only for the main dealer to later confirm the wheel locks had been removed from the wheels and replaced with standard bolts, likely very recently as one bolt on each wheel looked new. I ended up having to buy a complete set from the main dealer. As well as my time wasted, this created a genuine security risk and raises serious questions about honesty and integrity of the showroom.
Further problems arose with de‑taxing my part‑exchange and refunding the holding deposit. The sales assistant went on holiday for three weeks without completing either task, and my emails to the Sales Manager and General Manager were left unanswered. Only when I escalated to the Head of Business, did Sales Manager call me within five minutes.
He was rude and dismissive during the call, and incorrectly stated de‑taxing had already been completed by Sales Assistant before his holiday and that DVLA records simply needed time to update. I was able to demonstrate that this was not the case, after which he de‑taxed the car without acknowledgment of the earlier let’s call it “misinformation”.
The Sales Manager also told me that the refund had been processed the day before but the pending refund transaction appeared on my bank statement minutes after the call. Maybe this was a coincident.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else goes wrong with the car.
Based on all of this, I would not return and cannot recommend Marshal Clitheroe to anyone. Even the minimum one star feels generous.
For anyone still choosing to buy from them:
• Treat all promises and everything they say cautiously.
• Check the car thoroughly before purchasing.
• Ensure de‑taxing and refunds etc are completed before you leave.

Joe & Toby both absolutely brilliant @ Cupra Oxford. Made my first EV purchase as easy as possible. Any time asked for a call back they where always responsive. They also only sold me what I wanted and didn't apply any pressure. A brilliant experience and was great for Joe to take the time to have a decent chat while picking the car up. Also wanted to thank Toby as he supported in ensuring I was able to purchase the car making the maths work. Thanks so much !

We bought our new Hyundai from Marshalls and our returning customers mainly due to the excellent service given by one of their salesman Richard Bishop. Willing professional and eager to please he made the experience like buying from a friend well done to Richard and thank you very much for all your help.
If anyone from Marshalls senior management is reading this in my opinion, people buy from people not companies and it’s not always based on Price alone.
Once again, thank you very much for your helping buying a new car.

I have concluded that Marshall Customer Service have a strategy for dealing with negative comments. They respond, looking like they care, asking for details so they can respond then they do nothing. That is certainly my experience. Anna at Customer Care- would you like to comment?

My Defender was recovered to Marshall Landrover and was fixed and returned within a week. Marshall Landrover kept me fully updated all through the process.
I would have preferred it not to have broken down but having Marshall Landrover Cheltenham & Gloucester “watching your back” in these circumstances is a great comfort
