The Martin&co staff have been great. I rented a property through them and throughout the tenancy they were helpful, responsive and friendly. Any issues were always promptly addressed and I would recommend them to anyone looking at property in Bath or the surround.

I was unfortunate enough to be a tenant in one of Martin & Co's properties over the past year and the whole experience has been awful; certain personnel there are indescribably inept and lazy.

This isn't just an isolated, irate and biased tenant. I was a shareholder in the PLC and have since sold all my holdings after this experience and discussion on a couple of local Facebook groups showed I was by no means the only tenant with complaints. My fellow flatmates were also highly dissatisfied.

I ended up paying half a month's rent for a property that was promised to be ready, wasn't and then the painters and decorators M&Co had insisted on appointing, left a mess in the room. The house also had mould throughout and our emails to M&Co staff were ignored throughout. Not once did they bother to actually visit the property.

Any tenant or landlord, I would advise to avoid Martin & Co at all costs.

Martin & Co were extremely efficient in dealing with my purchase of one of their properties and kept in regular contact. They also kindly asked the vendor for various useful info like what paint colours had been previously used and where I could get extra matching flooring. The Vendors were fantastic and very helpful too which I very much appreciate.

Brian showed me around this property which I was very keen on. It was a detailed though relaxed viewing, even though there were several other buyers attending on that particular morning, but I didn't feel hurried at all. I was given an informative handout including past sale prices on that road. Brian explained the vendors situation in an honest and realistic way. The information provided really helped me gauge the offer I would make.

David is a great Sales Director, and clearly knows what he's doing. I felt under no pressure to go beyond what I genuinely felt the property was worth to me. My offer was accepted after the vendor had considered several other offers he had received. At the end of the day, I feel that both the vendor and myself are pleased with the outcome, thanks to Brian's informative viewing and David's expert negotiation skills.

Martin & Co manage 2 flats for us and have always been very diligent and responsive, responding to emergencies quickly but also finding us good contractors. I would highly recommend them. In fact, I always do if someone needs a managing agent in Bath

David, Gaye and the rest of the team could not have been more professional and helpful. The Service and Communication at all times inspired confidence and I could not have an asked for better and can highly recommend them.

Sadly Martin & Co didn't get us one viewing of our property in 6 months. They did a lovely video and photos but they seemed to put off prospective visitors by insisting they all had to offers themselves before even viewing ours. Didn't even have the courtesy to drop our key back at the end of 6 months. Not recommended

They have a legally questionable policy of requiring a new AST to be signed at the end of an existing one, which is obviously not needed. If you don't, they serve a Section 21 eviction notice, at the most inconvenient time. The day after you hand the keys back, the property is then available to rent on their web site.

It's agents, the landlords they protect, and practices like these that have driven a very welcome change in the law. They should be ashamed of themselves, but they are very clearly not.

Then they then go to town on the exit review, picking fault over things that were wrong at the start of the tenancy, charging excessive amounts for small things, and taking weeks to finalise the process.

If you leave a negative review, they will do what they can to have the review removed. Let's see if, and for how long, this one stays up for.
