Cancelled my policy by letter, no attempts to contact. Found out by accident when old address post collected. Called the back office team 'to be honest we dont sit around all day waiting for policies... See more

Great company
Great company
I mad a mistake and I did transactions and the charge was a lot of money. I explained the situation and they decide to give me all the extra charges back to me that is fantastic. Service thank you 🙏🏽
Simple task to change my phone number
Simple task to change my phone number. Useless staff on 4 occasions told me different things. If you are useless this is the place to get a job.
The customer service is terrible
The customer service is terrible. My card was blocked without warning and it took over 3 hours to get a response from their online chat. Meanwhile, I had no other means of payment.
Hate this company
Hate this company. I started with etihad credit card, then later this company came.
It was good, but few months ago they decreased my credit limit to a pathetic amount! For no reason!
Dont want to use this company anymore!!!
Made a claim nearly 2 weeks ago
Made a claim nearly 2 weeks ago. Just an email from them saying they were struggling. And not to call them. Can't even access my account online.
MBNA SYSTEMS ARE DOWN AND THEY CANNOT TAKE A PAYMENT ON THE PHONE REALLY!
I am trying to pay off a debt (for a family member) and I am still being told that their systems are down and they cannot take a payment. I am refusing to put the phone down as this happens everytime just so they can charge more interest on the account!. It is not my account so I cannot go on line to do it.
Well
Well, to me, the experience was smooth and fast. Simple terms, explained straightforwardly without overwhelming corporate speech. Great loan rates. The only downside is their technical issues with the app. But that was not a big deal, so overall I would probably choose MBNA next time again to get a loan.
MBNA insurance don't bother
Online only insurance no booklets sent out bank statements don't even say MBNA took a while to find out who I took insurance out with made a claim work van damaged my drive because there was more than one van nobody admitted damage MBNA said because it happened over a period? 2.5 weeks they won't pay out no email address no comeback very poor indeed and they keep saying it's accidental damage if it wasn't damaged by me it's just damage
Seriously avoid
Put a home insurance claim in on 21st October. I have had nothing back apart from sending the same documents I’ve already sent.
It’s not over a month down the line and I’m being told I have to pay extra because apparently I have an extra bedroom.
Worst customer service, worst insurance EVER! Should not take this long.
Have been told they have called me left messages and emails and completely lied about it.
Honestly shocking! Claim number is 500600558 if anyone at MBNA wants to actually sort this out
Would give 0 stars if I could
Would give 0 stars if I could!
They completed a transaction without my consent and then were unable to recall the transaction without my intervention! Worse provider I have ever dealt with!
Hidden information.
Got through to the customer service quick.
So my card has a 16 month or 12 month interest interest free purchase offer. As well as 3 months money transfer offer.
A limit of £800
I may have transferred about £330 and used another £200 on purchases.
My Money transfer offer finishes next month meaning if I don't pay back the £330 before that then ones that date comes to pass I will incur interest.
The issue arises from the way the payment is worked out. I called in wanting to know about me being nterest free if I made the payment.
So the lady informed me that if I Pay the £330 now, it will be taken off the Purchases & not the Money transfer. She told me that unless the day comes when the money transfer offer expires, it is only then that it will be prioritised. What she means is that thats when the system will automatically prioritise the money I pay back, to be paid for that money transfer offer now finished. Because its the one with the highest interest rate and therefore serves as a priority, this still means from my understanding I may still incur a few days of interest. This may depend as she said its about a day after it expires that this happens. So I may have a day of interest incurred or more. Interest will remain till you pay it off.
How does that work. Why not prioritise a finishing offer first then one that will finish a few months later. Why wait when it finishes and starts incurring interest first & then afterwards prioritise it. Its not logical.
These are the type of information that needs to be made more bold and clearer regardless the contract type to the customer rather than hiding it in shadows.
Fails to provide a reasonable service
You call them and tell the auto bot what you want only for the auto bot to put your through to the wrong department, then once you clear auto bot number 2 you get a queue. After being told a 5 - 10 min wait to connect you get offered a call back.
That call back never takes place because MBNA can't provide a service that incorporates the words "REASONABLE AND PERIOD OF TIME" in fact the whole idea of providing a service is something they are unable to do and will continue to remain that way for the future
Either incompetent or unscrupulous
All I can reccomend to anyone thinking of using this organisation is don't. I had no issues while paying off the interest free part of my loan, as I alqays paid in time, but once I had moved this loan to another company, I managed to pay off what was left of the loan, they still continued to charge me. As soon as you have paid off money owing to this company, cancel any cards you may still have with them.
Decent experience overall but could be improved
Had home insurance with MBNA for a year, and I had to make a claim for a smashed induction hob. It went reasonably well but I did have to do all of the research myself to find a replacement model (which wasn't easy) and sort someone to fit it, which I thought would be the insurer's job.
They did pay the claim instantly, I had the money in my bank account within minutes of ending the phone call.
However, it's insane that you have to have a credit card/loan with MBNA in order to use their online services for home insurance, and their communication is very lacking. I received no email to confirm the start of my policy, no emails at all during my claims process, and no email to confirm cancellation of my policy. I had to phone up and go through an odd process of setting up a password to a portal in order to get proof of insurance for my solicitor before purchasing my house. Very strange way to run a business in 2025.
home insurance customer support obnoxious, policy wording not clear
home insurance customer support obnoxious. said if I don't renew the policy will be 'cancelled'. When I said it won't be cancelled it just won't be renewed. He said "it's the terminology we use on the phone". Previously also I had a staff member being short with me when I asked if he can see the same document I was sent (he said something like "I don't know what you've been sent"). Wording on documents not clear. Had a claim refused due to unclear wording. Home emergency price is separate to the home insurance renewal price to add to the confusions and making it tough to compare with other providers when it comes to renewal. Decided not to renew and go with a provider with a bit more customer focused.
Truly awful service
Truly awful service. I submitted a claim with evidence (pics and quote to repair damage), and immediately got an email asking for evidence. No indication what additional evidence might be needed, no indication of whether the claim could be progressed. Eight days later, still no word. Calling someone turns out to be almost impossible and when you do get through (after a warning it could take AN HOUR to answer) the only advice you get is to go onto the website. Circular, extremely unhelpful. I submitted a claim last year for lost jewellery and felt ripped off by the whole process. Originally has a beautiful hand crafted piece but they refused to replace it with the original jeweller and was forced to accept a cheap, mass made replacement
MBNA Banking a Disaster
Never ever have I come across a company MBNA banking that is completely disorganized and incapable of resolving a problem existing for over 8 weeks as of today with still no results.
Their AI bots are useless the customer service is worse the phone lines break up cannot even email you to put things right ..I personally think the operators purposely interfere with the line.... Oh my God how do companies like this survive. More will follow this saga, watch this space.
At 28.11.25. On 18.11.25 sent a letter requesting clarity and explanations this letter sent by Royal Mail next working day, Proof of Delivery and signature as of today 28.11.25 this letter had remained undelivered sent to post code BX11LT MBNA Complaints.
I ask you is this Company a responsible Company.
Watch this space as I am sure the saga will continue.
16.12.25
Still undelivered and would add that as this is a Mail Box number probably MBNA don't even collect their post.
I am sure this episode will continue.
Mbna fraud department are spot on!
I have an mbna credit card and in the last week they noticed that there were some unusual transactions on my card. They called me to check if it was me and they had noticed that some of the transactions had been made using a phone that is different to the model I usually use if using Google pay. I have been at home sick for the last week and so have made no transactions on my card and these were mostly at a petrol station. Mbna called me on 3 different occasions with transactions that had been completed which all in all came to roughly £1000 in the space of 5 days. All transactions were cancelled and they are continuing to monitor my card until my new one arrives. I have frozen my current card through my app but it's nice to know that they are still watching it. Ive never been a victim of fraud before and therefore i was really worried once this was highlighted to me. The team reassured me that it wouldnt matter to me and that they would be watching for any further transactions as i jave told them i wont need to use it for a while. Would 100% recommend them!
1 star is too high
I cancelled my MBNA home insurance and credit card after poor service.
I applied to get them to delete my peronal details as advertised on their website, wow the hoops you need to jump through only to be told no!
Now months after closing my credit card a store that I paid using my MBNA credit card has refunded me to the closed card in excess of £3000.
You should see the meal MBNA are making of me getting it back!!
They are literally keeping it in their own account for as long as possible purely to gain interest on it before finally releasing it to me.
Everytime I use the messaging app I got a different answer proving their staff are clueless.
Ended up having to phone only to be told it's 28 days before I can even apply for the missing refund form to be filled in.
Then it could be 30-60 working days before I get it back!!
Absolute shambles of a business!!
AVOID at all costs!
