The first time the order was messed up…
The first time the order was messed up but our local McDonalds did what they could to correct it. The second time my husband was in town so he could pick up the order so I called it in. Even though the order flashed on the screen, it disappeared and the guy at the first window said he saw it but it was gone now. The manager said the phone that made the order had to be on the property for the order to go through. My husband came all the way to get me and take me back with him. Ten miles each way. When we got there with the needed phone, the order was still not there. They finally tracked it down on a computer but not the order screen where it should have been. This is ridiculous and while some of the deals are tempting, it's not worth the hassle.
I finally decided to try the app
I finally decided to try the app, having used a similar app for another well known chain, I have to say that the choice of specials is poor, the advantages of the app in no way balance to the bad structure and reliability of the app, crashing, freezing, location errors, ordering is not as easy as others and when you want something that seems a good deal it is delivery only. Needless to say it is uninstalled and not worth the hassle for the poor level of advantages. I would not recommend this app unless the app and the advantages greatly improve.

What the hell have you done to your app?
Worked perfectly well before your upgrade, now is has so so many issues and just causes frustration and delays at the restaurants.
It's now quicker for me to park up and go into Greggs. Well done McDs !
Don’t order fruit as side with meal
Can order very easily off it but when ordering anything other than fries and salad it’s missing. Once ordered cucumber sticks with two meals missing and just ordered pineapple stick missing. So make sure you order fries or salad with meals on delivery but I find fries always cold when they get here

Absolutely rubbish missing items freezing cold spilt drink which isn’t apps fault but trying to get a refund for these items you get nowhere pointless having customer services deleted my account on McDonald’s app because what’s the point never lets me scan in store anyway worst app I’ve ever come across
Avoid! Disgusting customer service
Order arrived late. Food was cold and wet, bags were torn and food inedible. When I complained to driver he dumped my food in the street. I kept photos of this. I tried to call customer services, couldn’t get through. Called the store and was told it wasn’t their issue. Messaged uber eats who told us to contact McDonald’s. McDonald’s told us it’s uber eats who deal with it. Sent this message to uber eats who finally gave me a number to call. Waited over half an hour on hold to be told we can’t deal with your complaint as it’s now over 48 hours since order was made. This is despite me keeping a record of all correspondence. Customer service is disgusting especially when they are in a clear breach of the consumer rights act 2015. Purposely send you in circles until they know you have passed the required time to qualify for a refund.

Worst app I've ever tried to use.
Got a code on tv, downloaded app to try and use it. Was awarded good deal, but Everytime I tried to place the order I was sent back to a fresh email to log in, after 3 attempts I gave up and deleted the app. Their food is not that great that it's worth the bother.

The MacDonalds app is one of the worst I've ever used. It is genuinely like they have looked at a number of other large company apps and decided specifically to take all the parts that done work and build them into a single app.
Whoever is the lead for the app team should probably resign immediately and that one person on the team who no-one listens to but has clearly been saying all along that what they are putting out in the world should be the one put in charge.... as least they would look to change something.. cant make it any worse. Tried to leave this on the customer service section of the app but, surprise surprise, the AI customer service generator they use isn't built in with enough options to be able to take the information i wanted to share.
List of issues (not exhaustive):
Keep reverting to check where you are even if you've got your location on.
Says i have a delivery already in place but obviously don't but with no way to cancel it or contact anyone to support.
No easy option to stop going back to the home screen every time you want to look for another food item.
No easy option to stop going back to the home screen once you have looked at one of the offers or points spend options.
Not user friendly.
Feels built to not let you use the points - very unhelpful.
Keeps asking for location before you can use the scan code option at the kiosk when all technology these days could give you that info when you scan at the machine you are scanning at.
Very difficult for you to use while trying to move through a drive through but heavily drive through biased.
and, of course, the need for someone to ask "have you ordered on the app today?" every time you order now even the app is - as mentioned above - is almost unusable...
1 star is to many but there isn't a no star option....
P.S. - I am not just a grumpy old man... i am grumpy, i am an older man - but these have nothing to do with anything apart from the app being technological nightmare fuel...

I ordered and paid for some food and the app glitched therefore I didn't get a code and the store wouldn't help me. The points are very limited for what you can buy with them. I think I will go back to old style face to face customer service at least it's more reliable.

Bug ridden, slow, severe lack of basic function
Bug ridden, slow, hangs a lot with bouncing fries. Keeps defaulting to wrong location, manually change it only for it to default back. No way to cancel an order, if you don't pick it up it keeps asking you to reopen order and even if you delete everything it all comes back. This is just a tiny list of issues, there are a LOT more problems. Most infuriating frustrating pile of poorly coded excrement I've ever had the misfortune to use.

This app used to work and we got lots of cut price meals due to our points but now it will not process payments and therefore we cannot use our rewards. Wondering if this is deliberate?

It is SHIT! Cant change UK Address for deliver if the app gets location address wrong. I gave up after numerous tries .. dont bother

Awful app. Tried to set up an account, and it took 3 attempts as it kept kicking me out and glitching. Then it wouldn't let me just order and use the monopoly rewards without needing to have location tracking on, and then kept glitching when I turned it on!!
I don't let apps track where I am, except for navigation purposes. Absolute garbage app, and I deleted it pretty much immediately.

I will never use the app again !!!! They are quit happy taking your money straight away cancel your order without letting you know and promise a refund in the speedy time of 15 DAYS!! Just to not pay it anyway and delete all knowledge of my order so bye bye £25 and bye bye app they rob you blind!!!!

Attempted to claim free quarter pounder won on Monopoly game, 15% discount also won on Monopoly game plus ordering 2 meals. App gave me total £13.75, went to pay, app stalled on payment. Closed app, reopened, said all items unavailable. Had to order via drive thru post therefore didn't get free prize or 15% off. Frustratingly bad app. Feel sorry for the McDonald's staff

Ordered breakfast through the app thinking because I'd ordered it it would be done when my husband got there nope have they to have the code before they make it.... why even use the app if you can't order ahead and get it done before you get there when he got there it was just after the lunch mind you the app doesn't even give you the choices for lunch before the time good lord you guys are supposed to make things easier for customers and employees not harder....

Ordered a triple cheeseburger along with various other items instead of a triple cheeseburger I received a single cheeseburger phoned the restaurant they said I had to contact uber eats on the app there was nothing they can do went on the app and got no where with it useless and very disappointing customer service it was there mistake not the delivery company
