Been using MeDirect as my main bank & broker for several months and the overall experience is very good. They offer competitive interest rates on savings (not just fixed term deposits but also regular savings through MeMax) unlike other local banks who pretty much give you nothing. They also offer a vast array of investment options, either by giving complete control or even offer fully managed products. The only downside to their investment platform (if I had to mention one) is that they don't offer fractional shares on ETFs, something which is becoming the norm with many trading platforms.
App and online platform actually belong in the 21st century, very responsive and easy to use. Customer support is also great, always handled any questions or issues in a timely manner.
Overall very happy with the service provided.

Very happy with day to day banking with medirect. Card works well, with ability to use a digital card too to protect the physical card more. Easier and cheaper to make online payments thank others locally too. Only downsides:
- doesn’t support direct debits
- you can only have 1 debit card- which is very unusual- so you can’t have, for example, an everyday account and a separate bills account!
- service via the app is almost non existent- but it’s good in call centre and in branch - the opposite of most banks who encourage you to use cheaper forms of communication for them!
- a monthly limit to free cash withdrawals (I use another ac for that now)
Definitely recommend compared to hsbc and other local providers. Works very well, and investment support is good- I just have to have another ac locally for the other things- but no one provider is perfect, and it spreads your risk!

Service is good, but a big minus is that they do not have proper bank cards, no possibilities to get a credit card, very difficult to get a bank draft and they ask you to sign to use their bank for the whole loan period and then you are trapped.
This bank was shining before 2025. Then out of the blue from among other things, sending EUR to Revolut Bank it needed a whole day at best. Their response time is several days whereas calling most of the time results in ”we call you back”. Sorry to say but the services had become less good over time. Look at Revolut bank, sending EUR to MeDirect is done immediately weekdays - amazingly good service. Their response time for instance after a scam was the same day and the recovery of the money took three working days - fantastic.
Thenonly downside with Revolut is their charges when changing money or transfer money abroad. Pity MeDirect can’t be as good.
The account opening process is fully digitalized and very simple to follow. They facilitated the online experience by introducing an App too. Very convenient to use, and the thing I liked the most that you can access the app by setting up the fingerprint lock. No need to input any passwords or pins. The App is user friendly, you can order your card straight after the account is opened and you can choose your own 4 digit PIN. You can also opt to have a digital card immediately and add it to your wallet, without the need of waiting for the physical card. I always was serviced promptly and never had any issues with the bank since never experienced any blocks on my account. I am a loyal customer of the bank and I was always treated fairly.

Their customer centre is outstanding, and you get to talk to a real person not an answering machine.
Last year they have introduced their debit card and it is easy to manage and use worldwide.
Their online platform and mobile app are fast, efficient, and easy to use.

Don't open an account. They randomly block your account and cards, and you will wait forever before getting back your funds. Customer service takes their sweet time to answer you. A disgrace.

Medirect Malta is a SCAM COMPANY. They are going to block all the accounts because they have problems of liquidity. Stay away from them.
