Very Dangerous for National Security and Financial System
ATTN US DOJ and SEC: These crypto predators at Consensys and Metamask have knowingly flouted financial regulation for long enough and the time has now come for reparations and repercussions.
They continue to advertise their DEEPLY FLAWED tech to the masses and even literal teens online, all over Reddit and other sites with cute animals and more - users who unbeknownst to the extreme security and fraud risks have lost collectively billions of dollars.
Lives have been ruined and taken, and the issue is now severe enough that it necessitates extreme action, reparations, and an injunction unless we want to see society collapse from crypto predators’ crimes.
Who are average crypto users?
94% are under the age of 29. 40something % are colored and lower socioeconomic class.
Policymakers are finally catching on to the level of EXTREME, systemic, even existential risk to our institutions and entire financial system. The largest scale fraud and utter regulatory crisis in history.
Consensys and many others have marketed this laughably BROKEN tech as a legitimate alternative to the regulated financial system pushing their cult fringe views onto the masses.
They know very well crypto by its nature has catastrophic technical risks. Unlimited txn size, irreversible transactions. The fact is that crypto UX today is so atrocious that if even 10% of Americans adopted it for use beyond gambling, hacks and user errors alone would cause instability.
That's how laughable this "future of finance" truly is - these are known facts.
No one with a real career who is not a scammer, grifter, or criminal in some form really wants to do anything with this stuff. But now it is not some fringe thing - they are actively promoting it to naive youngsters who will get hacked everything.
And what happens when you inevitably get hacked like most do and will? They victim blame you! Hah!
Yeah no, it’s time to teach these people that this is not how the world works. This is entirely anathema to hundreds of years of public policy.
When has society EVER allowed private issuers of currency and outright ponzi scammers to prey on the masses in the name of unchecked financial "innovation (ironic because all of this barely even works, and doesn’t at all at scale, unlike real fintech co’s)”?
This will soon lead to severe populist unrest (see Albania '97) and must be regulated or ceased urgently.
This is hardly a real industry - it’s a group of charlatans who decided to follow the “ask for forgiveness” route except their invention threatens societal stability now.
What happens when millions of naive new entrants to crypto get hacked for billions of dollars in the coming months?
Gross negligence pushing something with such catastrophic risks, consumer fraud, abetting OFAC sanctioned state actors hacking Americans to finance their nuclear programs, and far worse.
If the Feds have any sense, even Consensys employees should be doing perp walks for such damages.
Crypto predators really thought they could flout common sense financial regulations and market such tech as ALTERNATIVES TO THE BANKING SYSTEM to the masses - meanwhile even TOP crypto founders get hacked for tens of millions of dollars nearly DAILY... such an insane mess, it would be funny if the situation weren't so dire now.
Obviously it now poses a serious risk to national security, our financial system, and institutions.
It should be no surprise why crypto leaders keep going to prison. Gee, who would have thought that's what happens when you subvert the state and capital controls, and threaten to cause populist and civil unrest from the collateral damage?
Surprised they are still running their scammer conferences in the US and more. Cancel your conferences please!
Their support team talks down hack victims from suicide (hacked crypto victims’ suicide rate is disturbingly high). How many young professionals (vast majority of crypto users are under age30, colored, lower socioeconomic status) have gotten their life savings hacked by sanctioned foreign state actors due to Metamask being so flawed and even having had some security loopholes in the past?
How will the courts treat crypto predators and extremists who tried to subvert the state and financial system all for their fringe crypto cult views so their ponzis could go up while posing such an extreme, dangerous risk to societal stability and more?
Such regulatory arbitrage can no longer be tolerated in any civilized society.
A message to the Judge and jury in the inevitable case: Such actions severely undermine societal stability and trust in our institutions and financial system.
They should pay billions in fines, injunctions, reparations, probably prison time for execs and more.
Dont use MetaMask Wallets
Dont use - I have had tokens stolen from my wallet despite keeping my secret phrase and password safe. Also, I'm very careful on what link / interaction / websites I got to. Here's what happened to me..I recently transferred some usdt - $2000 - in to my wallet - immediately the funds were removed and transferred to another sneaky filthy scammer address. What really annoys me is that the tokens were removed without my consent and when I contacted Metamask they told me that they could do nothing.
My Advice is to use a Hardware wallet!
I have been waiting over a month now…
I have been waiting over a month now for a cash out they allegedly promised. After paying THOUSANDS in gas and escrow fees I was told my money would finally be available within 72 hours via direct deposit. I have waited well over 72 hours. They had good communication leading up to this, now as I ask about my money and the status they have disappeared. It is a very significant amount and my lawyer will be getting involved if it is not received expeditiously.
Stay away
If I could I would give less than 1 star. My money disappeared after 5 minutes of opening the account while trying to transfer it there. Some more disappeared from the wallet. The customer service was extremely slow, rude, continued asking the same questions, didn't help at all. Never again.

Metamask is a scam. Do not use it
One of my worst experiences. I was encouraged by a false friend to join metamask, and I met Sara Gatti, who is a scammer. I strongly recommend you never to have anything to do with her. I lost a lot of money thanks to her, and no one helped me with anything.

This is totally a scam. Last night I buy ETH of Rs.2000 on Metamask✅ Success! PURCHASE of 0.00626426 ETH complete through Transak.
When I got a message from Transak.com this morning confirming purchase successful. I open Metamask, my ETH balance is 0. I checked on the blockchain showing transfer from Transak wallet1 to my Metamask wallet is confirmed but at the same time the blockchain showing transfer from my wallet to other wallet. It is a big scam both the Metamask as well as Transak.

Got scammed by this network
Got scammed by this network, i opened an account for my daughter with her £250 worth of Ether back in 2022 when eth was at a low of approx £1700, looked at the balance the other day account has zero funds. Support is virtually non existent, and they have no security nor accountability. Stay far from this corrupt network of scammers who prey upon the unlearned and innocent.
Don't use metamask

No support and security is terrible
No support and security is terrible. This company simply does not give a damn. If you want scammers to steal your money use Metamask.
Inaffidabile
Unreliable, due to the unannounced request for additional funds to withdraw from the personal wallet; first of all you ask for money and say that you have the wallet for the transfer, then he asks you for twice as much telling you that those sent (with a very short deadline) are not enough and are in "cahoots" with Royal Diam. To me, it's a combined scam.
worst crypto wallet ever
worst crypto wallet ever, the interface is soooo laggy and the commissions for every little thing are over the roof, and most of all I just can withdraw my funds I get some weird different errors every time like "internal JSON-RPC" error
Just a Scam in crypto world
Just a Scam in crypto world. As someone who has been using crypto wallets for about 6 years I have never ever seen such issues that I have had with Metamask. I just sent 100$ to it and now I am unable to withdraw it as half is ETH and half Wrapped ETH on Arbitrum so I can not withdraw any of them all the time it shows errors that you do not have enough funds and just showing errors. Obviously they ate my money. Shame on you . Be away from this scam and use another extension wallet if you do not want to waste your money. Again metamask is a BIG SCAM.
I assume this company/app is a scam
I assume this company/app is a scam. Claim they cannot help you get back in to your own account. Avoid this one
Appalling level of security on their…
Appalling level of security on their system. Three times in a week coins were stolen from my account and MetaMask say that they can do nothing to help and blamed me for disclosing my secret phrases. There is no chance this happened. Never again will I use this excuse of an exchange. Be warned everyone.
Spam email scammers
Spam email scammers. Do not engage with this company. Our society hasn't done well enough to get rid of these rats so you have to be vigilant

Recent victim of Ice Phishing Scam on Metamask
I sent some tokens from Metamask to a hardware wallet. The procedure was complex, involving a bridge and multiple contracts. One of them was an ice phishing scam in which I was asked to approve a transfer of coins... I'm not a hardware engineer or a coder. I'm just someone trying to keep my pennies safe. But I lost a massive chunk because Metamask allows through all these indecipherable (to non-tech users) "contracts" you have to approve just to move your coins/tokens. This creates the perfect opportunity for scammers to steal people's money since we average people have no way of knowing what these complex alpha-numeric contracts mean/are.
Of course, Metamask excuses itself from any responsibility. Once again in Crypto, when horrible, billions-in-value-every-year fraud happens, the victims are on our own. THIS is a major reason for the support of heavy-handed regulation in the US. Web3 wallets like Metamask aren't doing nearly enough to protect users from ubiquitous fraud.
I've since deleted my Metamask account and will never use a web3 wallet again. Better to be cast as a (tech-) Luddite than to be wiped out financially because fintech services/products providers fail to protect me from tech scams using their infrastructure.
