Best value on line for car rental excess insurance
For many years I did not bother to take out rental car excess insurance until a friend of mine got hit with a substantial bill when his rental car was involved in an accident. Now I go on line every year to find the best value annual excess policy and Moneymaxim continue to offer the best choice and value for money.

My first purchase via Moneymaxim
I'd previously bought car hire excess insurance for each rental. Now it made sense to get an annual (& worldwide) car hire excess insurance policy. Google led me to Moneymaxim and it seemed clear and straight forward. I just rated 4 stars, not five, because i thought it would be easier / quicker reference if the comparison table indicated the £ amount excess one would have to pay, because some providers still charge an excess in event of claim. Other than that, having read the provider's T&C's, I bought a policy and hope all goes well in event of having to make a claim.

I'm very pleased to say, that there is no excess on the Car Hire Excess Insurance Policies on our site, apart from in the following instances:
- Some of the Car Hire Excess Insurances Policies do have an excess on baggage / luggage. Those that do, can be found under the more information button for each policy. This though is a very small feature on the overall policy, and a good travel insurance would cover this anyway in most instances.
- There are some Non UK resident policies (depending on your criteria / requirements), where an excess is applied, but these are clearly shown on the results page for this type of enquiry and under the more information button for those type of policies. Again, you would only see this if this applies to your specific enquiry.
So apart from the above, when it comes to making a claim, as long as you haven't broken the law or done anything negligent (in relation to your Car Hire Agreement), you will find that you will be fully reimbursed as defined from the policy that you have purchased, and to the limits as stated for each area / feature listed.
Great to hear that you have purchased an Annual policy, this is so competitively priced (especially when comparing to the Car Hire Desks!!!) and will provide you further peace of mind, when hiring your cars.

Great organisation to do business with.
Dealing with Moneymaxim is a real pleasure. I found Car Hire e reinsurance for less than £40 for a full year. This is less than 30% of the price quoted by the Car Hire company for a 15 day hire.
I can recommend Moneymaxim to anyone looking for a good deal.

I was looking to hire a car in Portugal…
I was looking to hire a car in Portugal and have done so before. There are a lot of conflicting advice messages about extra insurance costs for accidents or minor damages that are not covered. I spent days looking over each search site's car rental terms and conditions and none give peace of mind. I reviewed forums and came to the conclusion that it would be best for our family as European travelers to invest in a yearly cover that suited our needs, great site for variety and feel more relaxed about picking up our car at Faro.
