No way to delete your account

No way to delete your account. No help on the website on how to do it. Search on Delete and you get nothing. All I want to do is delete/close my account on this website and I have no choice but to send an email and it to be dealt with by a real person. Slow and manual. Why not a simple possibility to delete your account yourself? Strange and controlling.

****** UPDATE *******

The email I received told me that no one will read my email because they are such a popular site they get 100,000's emails and so Martin certainly won't reply either.

Now what?

Hi Michael,

The MSE Compare+ Car Insurance tool is powered by MoneySupermarket. It offers two perks, but neither of these includes a £50 voucher.

The two perks that MoneySupermarket offers are SuperSaveClub and Price Promise.

SuperSaveClub: Buy annual car insurance and you can join this club, which gives you a 12-month Free Days Out pass. Plus, you'll get a gift card of up to £15 for each subsequent qualifying product purchase you make through MoneySupermarket.

Price promise: If you buy car insurance, then find a cheaper like-for-like policy with the same insurer (either direct or via another comparison site), MoneySupermarket refunds the difference plus a £20 gift card.

If you've got any queries about these perks, please email rewards@moneysupermarket.com.

Alternatively, if you think you may have used a different car insurance comparison site that we link to from our site, please email voucherhelp@moneysavingexpert.com with further information (site used, insurer you purchased the policy with etc) and we'll do our best to look into it.

Please note, your review is public and can be viewed by everyone, so you may want to update it to remove your mobile number.

Thanks,

My post on Free Legionella Test for Landlords was rejected

I posted a post on how Landlords can save money on Legionella Tetsing by using the "Legionella Checks & Compliance App" and do the Legionella Assessment themselves for FREE

It was in no way a promotion, but a money saving tip.
They removed my post and sent me an email saying I am not a verified merchant :D

That should say it all. They only seem to work with Verified (people willing to pay commissions)

Cannot be trusted

I am glad to see that many others share the view of this corrupt site that push products of banks that perform underhand tactics and steal people's money. Also I see a reply on here from a moneysavingexpert employee saying they have a post of how you can complain about the Financial Ombudsman Service. There is nothing you can do about the corrupt Financial Ombudsman Service. All you can do is complain about the service you have received and because they set their own standards they will never be found at fault as long as they send a reply within three months they can do whatever they want which is why Financial providers are treating customers so badly. Martin Lewis and the Moneysavingexpert have completely lost my trust and I hope others wake up to this websites promotion of banks that are not saving customers money and are actually stealing customers money. Martin Lewis should change the name of his site to money stealing expert.

Hi David,

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch with us.

Our site is used by many millions of users each month, so I'm afraid that it isn't possible for Martin or ourselves to provide individual advice based on your own personal circumstances.

We don't provide any recommendations or advice - our aim is to produce MoneySaving guides that inform our readers of as many options available as possible and our focus is on cost not service. Everything that appears on the site and in the weekly email is down to its editorial merit. But we're sorry to hear you have had this experience and we do monitor the feedback for any company on our site, so we appreciate you letting us know.

You may wish to read about How This Site Is Financed for a more in depth explanation.

If you have a complaint you’d like to raise with a specific company, you can use Resolver (a free and easy complaints site which MoneySavingExpert works with).

MoneySavingExpert isn’t able to play a role in your complaint and so unfortunately we're not able to forward this for you, but hope this helps.

Cashplus bank have failed to release my…

Cashplus bank have failed to release my salary payment under the guise of security checks. Received a text saying it would ( not could) take 24 hours. I called and the call handler was unhelpful. Its clear this company are deliberately holding on to my money. 24 hours ended yesterday at 21.30, still do not have access to my salary, leading to missed payments. Will close account ASAP.

Credit Club

Although I can't speak to all of MoneySavingExpert.com's services, their Credit Club' gave me my Experian score. It is 102 points lower than my score on Experian's actual site. I have no idea if they want you to see your score as lower to offer 'help'... but that is flagrantly disingenuous information. I do not trust the company on anything based on that information.

Hi Zonker,

The credit score is provided to us by Experian, but there are a few reasons why your score may differ.

If you could send an email to CreditClub@MoneySavingExpert.com with your registered email address, we can make sure your account is up-to-date and provide some further details on why your score may be different to other Experian services.

What a complete waste of time

What a complete waste of time. home insurance renewals all from this website, not one came in under £3000 and to give some context the most expensive and comprehensive on other comparisons sites like for like or better were £2000 less! Hi Pawel, thanks for your review. I'm sorry you feel this way and completely understand your frustration; prices for the same product/company can vary on different comparison websites for various reasons such as: different sellers - each seller may have their own pricing strategy, or exclusive products - some companies provide products that you can only purchase exclusively through specific comparison sites. Once again I apologise for this inconvenience, and realise this isn't ideal, but I hope this helps explain a little.

STAY AWAY FROM CLICKING ON THE LINKS

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE! I thought emails from Money Saving Expert were from Martin Lewis. I thought they were genuine, so I clicked on on one of his links regarding Quantum qi. I immediately got a call from Jordan Jones from Trade 101.ai saying he is an IFA and can introduce me to bitcoin investment.
He assured me I could get back my investment whenever I want. I listened to him convinced he was verified by Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert and got SCAMMED out of £4,700. STAY AWAY. I have now reported Jordan Jones and his company to Fraud Squad.

Hi Shireen,

We're aware of some emails and adverts along these lines online and on social media. I'd like to assure you that these are in no way linked to Martin or MoneySavingExpert, and we appreciate that this is concerning.

If you've lost money to this scam, please reach out to the Citizens Advice Scams Action helpline online or by calling 0808 250 5050 and an agent can talk you through what steps you need to take. Please also cease all contact with the scammers straightaway, and report this to Action Fraud: https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

This is something Martin's legal team is working on but unfortunately, it's a tough one to solve - these companies are shut down but then seem to start up again in a different name. For more, check out Martin's video about this issue and our Fake Ads guide:

Check your recommendation

I am interested in breakdown cover so took a look at your recommended AutoAid. However, despite decent overall average rating, looking at actual reviews on Trustpilot for the last 6mths there seems to be some awful experiences. Maybe something has changed recently. On this occasion I will be avoiding your recommendation.

Low quote for health insurance but does not exist!

Surprised by the practice of this comparison websites. They are happy to issue quotations for health insurance through Active Quote Ltd, but when, within days, ready to take up the cover, suddenly the premium shoots up by £260.
Feel as if I have been attracted under a false quote, which they clearly can't fulfil.
Time to try elsewhere!

Hi Christian, thanks for your review and I'm sorry you feel this way. Our comparison tools are live, and the providers can withdraw/add new products at any time. Additionally, a lot of products have expiry dates, so if you find a product and come back to it a few days later, the provider may have asked us to take this off site. I understand this is frustrating, however this is a live market, and we often do not know when prices could change.
I'm sorry we aren't help further, but I hope this helps explain.

Car insurance 'help' useless

I had multicar insurance quote through MSE quote form into which I put three drivers. It all went OK until I realised that when the actual quotes came through, they all had 'dropped' the added drivers off and quoted only for 'main driver'. This happened although I had carefully added ALL drivers into the MSE quote form. When I re-added the two other drivers into the received company quotes the premiums shot up more than £400. Basically, all that effort using MSE quote form was waste of time as it did not relate accurately to the insurance companies' quotes. Don't understand how this could possibly happen??!!

Pre approved cards are not accurate, commissions must be getting made

I used their credit card 'soft search' for best preapproved deals. I have an excellent credit score of 999. The top cards it brought in were tesco, virgin and natwest. They must get commission on these. One card that i had a zero chance of approval was barclaycard, i checked them directly and preapproved instantly, and got a 0% deal for 6 months longer than the other. Ditch this site go direct they all now have soft searches so will have no negative impact. Commissions rule

Hi there,

Our eligibility calculators use Experian for their initial decision. If you’re seeing a lower chance than you expected, it may be worth double-checking there are no errors on your credit report as this could be an indicator of a problem, even with a high score.

Gone downhill since Martin sold it

Years ago I used to peruse the site and was impressed by the quality of the forum although I never needed to join it myself.
Tried to join the site to pose a question regarding my credit card. 30 hours later my account still hasn’t been approved and so I ended up seeking advice elsewhere.
Viewing the forums and it seems to be very cliquey and, considering how long it takes to approve an account, not well moderated. I saw several threads where people asked questions and the responses were quite rude or dismissive.
