Moorland Garden Hotel Reviews 

Just had a 3 night stay at the hotel.
Very pleasant 4 star hotel with a 5 star feel.
Room was excellent with good wi-fi and a smart TV.
Everything in the hotel was very clean and the staff were great and friendly.
Great location for walkers.
The reception desk design is memorable and the décor overall was excellent.
Exeter and Torbay an hours drive away and Plymouth around 25 mins.
They also do some great regular deals and we had a 50% discount.
Been twice now and will be staying again soon.

This was my third dining visit to this well-appointed, comfortable hotel, set in rich Devon moorland and abounding in good walks, lots of fresh air and wide views, provided the mists and rain aren't about.

This time my wife and I were taking lunch with two old friends, so we had plenty to chat about while we patiently waited for the food to arrive at our table in the conservatory. Polite, but slow service, as the chef was coping with quite a few orders.

My fish, chips and mushy peas were perfect, and the others were happy with their pastas with trimmings.

Overall, the setting was perfect, the staff superb, but there was a long delay with the service. So, my 4 stars are fair enough.

Visited for Xmas day lunch. Friendly staff.:-) Food served was poorly cooked and presented. :-( . Would not recommend for this event.

A very beautiful location for this hotel. The food is amazing and the staff are helpful and very friendly. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you are in and around the Tavistock area. Very comfortable and clean rooms also. Only one down side was the tiny tv.
