glasgow hotel
stayed for 2 nights at the Glasgow hotel, very modern colourful hotel, great atmosphere. The staff were great and very helpful.
Never managed to stay in the end at a…
Never managed to stay in the end at a hotel but after several emails back and forth between the company and booking.com they refused to refund me for being a no show. I booked the hotel three months before arrival and I was only informed I would be charged at midnight the next day. Very disappointed with service and so will make sure never to use booking.com or Motel One ever again
Great hotel
Great hotel, and very comfortable beds, stayed in the Piccadilly one Manchester then the exchange location one too.
Excellent receptionists and very polite.
Small rooms but still very functional and super clean
Only negative is the late check in and no flexibility till 3pm, only if they could be more flexible i would stay again
It's a really poor hotel for the price
It's a really poor hotel for the price. First we were given a room that hadn't been cleaned, the bed was unmade and there was rubbish all over the place. They gave us another room and free breakfast vouchers by way of an apology. Breakfast however is very lacking, they don't do cooked breakfasts, so it really wouldn't be worth paying for anyway. Also, check-in time is 3pm with no flexibility. I enquired about extending it to 2 hours earlier but the response was a flat 'no'.
Smart Modern Friendly
This is a smart, modern well positioned hotel in Graz. My son booked this for our recent long weekend (Thursday-Monday.) Bright modern reception with comfortable seats and a funky colour scheme creates a friendly atmosphere. The staff are helpful and quick to respond to any issues. I would like to see water & coffee making facilities in the rooms.( yes, I know they have some downstairs and in the many wonderful coffee & patisseries nearby.
Basic but does the job for a night
Room had everything I needed. Was pretty basic but the price was quiet high considering. Didn't get the best phone signal in the room but got free WiFi. Stay was comfortable and did the job for the night.
If I could no stars I would
If I could no stars I would.
Reservation made the day before yet when I arrived no details were on the system. Had to stand at the reception desk for 15 mins with no explanation as to why I was waiting.
I was then given the key to my room, which wasn’t the room I paid for. I think had to go back down to receptions to enquire about the room to be told that booking.com didn’t put it on there system so when they transferred across they didn’t notice. Well they had 15 mins to suss it out and surely which room the guest had booked would be one of the first things checked?
When I was allocated my second room
again it was not the room I had booked/paid for so had to be moved for a 3rd time.
When I left my room this morning I realised that i didn’t have my car key and in all the nonsense yesterday that I must have left my car key in another room, needing to go to work I explained this situation to reception who checked the first room and no keys but the second room had been sold to someone else. I knew my key had to be in this room which has meant that no checked must have been done on the second room prior to the sale.
I asked the reception staff to check however they refused and said there was nothing that could be done until the quest checked out. When I told the staff I would need to check myself then as I needed to get to work they chased me down the corridor towards the elevator and stuck their foot in the elevator telling me I wasn’t allowed to do so. After being left with no choice as my property was in the room that was occupied by someone else I called the police who advised that the hotel staff were being unreasonable by refusing to chap on the door to enquire (I suspect this is because they would have to handle the not cleaning/checking the room conversation) so I’m waiting on the police to arrive and assist the situation or for the guest to check out.
It’s my 2nd time in the hotel and quite honestly I don’t know why I booked as its just as bad as the first time. Unhelpful staff, dingy rooms that they call their ‘Historical rooms’ but aren’t at all a representation of the rooms portrayed on the website.
I’ll be advising my company to refrain from booking here in the future, poor experience and even worse customer service!
Yes, here are some that deserve all their stars without reservation.
MOTEL ONE HAMBORG-AIRPORT
The staff at the reception were very helpful and accommodating, they deserve all their ***** stars without reservation.
Our room was very spacious, clean and quiet.
I would definitely stay there again.
Great value and ideally located opposite the station
Stayed at Manchester a couple of times, once for a gig at the Arena and then for a works conference. Both times I could not fault it, the rooms are clean and comfortable - the beds are amazing! Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Also they’re happy to store your luggage for you and being located opposite the station is perfect.
Ideal
Booked through work for a couple of days stay for a conference. Very nice room, A/C which was s must for me, clean, friendly staff, nice hotel. Would reccomend
DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL
I turned up with a confirmed reservation to be told that the hotel was over booked. The staff member then said he would try and get another hotel in the area for me (City of London). 45 minutes later he told me that he could not help anymore and asked me to leave when i was angry (I was livid). No empathy what's so ever (the problem with paying min wage?).
DO NOT USE THIS CHAIN. The customer service is appalling. I AM SO ANGRY I CANNOT TELL YOU. I How can you let someone down like this beggars belief!
Worse company I've ever used
Worse company I've ever used. We arrived home to an unmade room, wet towels, unmade bed, no refreshment top ups. When we questioned this we were told that it was US that had been in our room ALL DAY! telling staff to go away when room service approached us throughout the day. This was a complete untruth, therefore I went down to reception and showed them various receipts and check in emails from the days activities we'd done, why would we travel for 4 hours to sit in our room and tell staff to go away?
The reception manager was the rudest person I've ever come across and accused us of lying! I was horrified at this response, thankfully another member of staff took the time to look at our proof we were out of the room and offered us a glass of wine as an apology.
The room however was left unmade for the entire 2 days of our trip, we had to drink bathroom tap water from used paper cups, wet towels, no coffee, no tea, dirty bedding.
Upon complaining to management post trip the Motel manager described a glass of wine as what he believed to be an adequate compensation for all of the above. Never in my life have I been accused of lying. Many many other guests in the Motel foyer were also very keen to complain about a number of other issues whilst we waited in a substantial queue to talk to someone about our issues. In short avoid this place like the plague!
This was the first ever hotel I have…
This was the first ever hotel I have visited (in my whole life!) and to say it was amazing is an understatement. The staff were lovely and the view from my room was so beautiful- I love Glasgow! I had trouble trying to figure out the lighting but the issue was solved promptly and I’m so glad I decided to stay with Motel One. The interior was jaw dropping and absolutely stunning. 10/10! Would recommend to anyone!
Manchester Piccadilly is amazing 👏
Amazing stay at Machester Piccadilly.
Comfiest bed I'd slept in for a long while.
I travel alot and like to try different brands so was my first time staying at Motel One but I will most definitely be back.
Front desk staff were so friendly and welcoming, check in was fast, room very clean and perfect size 👌 I loved the little tea and coffee station. ☕️
Great staff, awful cheap rooms
Stayed in the Manchester picadilly hotel a few months ago - The building materials used in the rooms were very cheap. Rooms were made out to be a lot bigger on the pictures but when you arrive there was a massive lack of space. Seems like a lot of money was spent on the foyer/entrance then they ran out of money when it came to the rooms. Staff at the front desk were so lovely and definitely made the stay more enjoyable! Thank you so much to the staff
Very bad experience with the…
Very bad experience with the reception...
I went with another colleague and she was treated better at the reception...
1. I had to present my ID first even when I showed my booking number but she was not asked to
2. She was asked for room preference, the guy that attended to me offered me no such
3. She was presently complimentary water, I was offered nothing
4. They explained to her about breakfast, check out time and others, I nothing was said to me
The colleague that attended to me was looking at me with such disdain
We were literally beside each other, I've never seen such a racist and discrimatory behavior before in my life
I don't know when Motel One turns to be such but I'll definitely be careful about them as a black person since they have decided to employ racist as receptionist
Great service
Great service from the hotel group and nice modern new rooms.
Motel one
Motel one - Edinburgh Princess
Arrived and checked in fine. When we got to the room it was a disabled room and wasn’t even mentioned by the receptionist! Didn’t want to take up a disabled room from someone who needed it so moved hotels after one night. Poor communication!
I am in the hotel nowLet down
I am in the hotel now. What a let down. One member of staff had half a mask on, no hand wash pointed out. The room is awful ! Tiny so basic and the view is a tiny bit of waste ground. Dont stay ever stay here, book a Premier Inn far better. So dissapointed
Nice and cosy in Manchester
My recent experience with them was good. Rented a room in Manchester Royal Exchange for one night only. Room was cosy and well equipped. All was really smooth and nice. Will book again.
