Stiga ltd customer claim 00465022.

Bought a new mountfield/stiga petrol chainsaw MC3720 around 9th apr 26 and directly from mountfield website (not amazon or screwfix etc).

Item developed fault within 1 week and refused to cut anything/was difficult to start up, but noisey as hell. Spoke to stiga customer spt who guided me to use an approved repair dealer in hertfordshire ( GB mowers ltd stevenage). Repairer actions, doesnt inform customer that repairs would be at customers cost...bills me for a new spark plug, new chainsaw blade and replacement petrol. On telling the repairer that the chainsaw was less than a week old, repairer said he would not charge for the spark plug (repairer credibility??).

It has now taken till the 15th of June to hear back from the stiga customer spt/in house warranty team (having chased them multiple times by telephone) who have decided to side with the approved repairer.

There is a reason why this chainsaw is down from £179 to £129 on the mountfield website...it also performs terribly in comparison to some of the cheaper battery chainsaw variants on amazon. I've used mountfield petrol hedgetrimmers/lawnmowers in the past and never had this sort of problem.

From my recent experience,i recommend you dont buy from mountfield/stiga directly- especially if you are looking for customer support in the event of an early fault developing. Stick with amazon, toolstation, screwfix etc where you will get the right level of customer spt and if you choose to buy any mountfield products.

£129 out of pocket, I am now off to buy a 18v battery cordless chainsaw- which wont be from mountfield/stiga. Small price to pay, invaluable lesson learned.

Unfortunately since Mountfield have been taken over by Stiga, their customer service has fallen off a cliff! Having purchased my SP555V there are issues with the machine which I would like resolving, I have spoken to the customer service department which I believe is now based in Italy, numerous times after rediculously long waits to have my call answered, the advice they gave was to go through my local dealer which I have done, there is apparently a person called Russell who deals with warranty issues but he does not reply to the dealer, and customers are not allowed his details. I also tried the chat and gave up when there was no answer after an hour. Eventually in my frustration I rang sales and no surprise they answered straight away, I spoke to Mel who eventually said she would escalate the situation, but the dealer would have to call her also, which they did, but still neither the dealer nor myself have heard anything and this has been going on for over 8 weeks. I have owned several Mountfield mowers over the years and have found them and the company excellent, but this has definitely changed, so if anyone is thinking of buying a Mountfield mower beware that once you purchase it you are on your own! Just for clarity I bought the mower direct from Mountfield not a third party.

Awesome piece of equipment, have already purchased the cordless leaf blower so now have double the battery life!

Your product was ideal but the company you chose to deliver were terrible The DHL delivery driver threw the parcel over the gate into our front garden in the pouring rain despite the fact we were in doors waiting for the delivery.

Item never arrived ordered on 29th May contacted them on the 9th June was told they will get back to me, no reply , so asked for money back today .

Third mower of this type, Build quality gone down, more plastic, engine sounds like it’s struggling, handle screws quickly come lose, cluch cable impossible to access, pull cord retainer broken in a week

I ordered my lawnmower direct from mountfield with the promise of a delivery within 7 days, I emailed customer services after trying unsuccessfully to contact them by telephone to find out when delivery was expected and didn't receive a reply. I tried again by telephone and an automated reply said I was number 6 in the queue, 35 minutes later and I was still number 6. I arrived home the next day and found the lawnmower lying in the garden. No correspondence was received at any time to say the machine was either dispatched or out for delivery. Illustrated picture instructions appeared to be for multiple models for assembly and so very confusing. Although mower started first time of trying the correspondence could have been much better

I have used this wonderful machine twice. I can’t tell you much better it is than my previous machine. Well done and fingers crossed it continues to impress.
Services and delivery were also excellent.
