Gate torture chamber

It’s late April at gate L22 and it’s 27 degrees Celsius, at least, without any ventilation and nothing the staff can do. The staff stay that you should try existing in this building in July. Really?

My first attempt this year never…

My first attempt this year never happened due to the union strike, and when I contacted the terminal, they did not even refund my train fare let alone any other costs/inconvenience.

I attended several other times recently and Terminal 1 is a shocker. Particularly, Gate C1. What a joke. Who ever designed it should go back to 5 year old drawing classes!

Worst airport in the world

Worst airport in the world
Absolutely horrendous customer service, ridiculously per security set up which is behind the times and so slow that you couldn’t possibly design it to be worse. The opposite of lean principles of flow
100% the worst airport I’ve ever been in in my life

We witnessed unacceptable and rude…

We witnessed unacceptable and rude behaviour that included profiling on seemingly skin colour grounds by both some airport and some security staff, confusing signposting, very long queues at passport controls again and again over at least ten years and last, this weekend. I sent in a complaint again, to both the airport and the security (-checks) cooperation Munich Airport (SGM), but after reading many other posts here, I believe the problem could well be systemic.

What a dreadful experience…

What a dreadful and disappointing experience Munich airport was. Travelling with my son, daughter-in-law and 3 month old grandchld. First time flying with a small baby. Munich airport was a completely different experience . We arrived at T1 over 2 hours before our flight. Struggled to find the check in for easyjet which turned out to be quite a walk to check in Z. 2 checks in desks open for 2 flights to Manchester and Gatwick. Very very long check in queue . Took over an hour to get to a desk, by which time another desk opened, which we were sent to. To say the check in lady was on work experience might be over stating her experience. She had no idea how to check us in and had to keep asking for help. We then had a car seat and pushchair to check in After about 20 mins of pfaffing I got a little stressed and said we would miss the flight if she took much longer as had to clear security with a baby. We were then told to take the car seat to oversize baggage. Found that to get told we didn't have the correct paperwork Eventually got that sorted and had to walk all the way back through the terminal and then struggled to find security. I then found and asked an airport worker . He was absolutely brilliant and the one plus in the entire experience. The star is for him. He took us up to security and put us in the fast track lane. The security staff were unfriendly and curt but we got through and then had the very long walk to the passport checking area only to have to walk all the way back to the gate. The flight was almost fully boarded when we got there
We have all travelled a lot and this was by far the worst airport experience ever.

DO NOT TRAVEL VIA MUNICH WORST AIRPORT AND STAFF!!!

This airport and its associates shouldn’t even have 1 star, only giving 1 star as it’s not possible to give zero. My parents had a connecting flight in Munich. They had to travel last minute due to relative on death bed. This trip was stressful enough. My mother underwent knee surgery a few months ago was relying and needed wheel chair. We had requested wheel chair at all airports. She received wheel chair at all airports except for Munich. They didn’t have much time to get to connecting flight and my parents are elderly. When arrived in Munich no one was there with wheel chair. My mother inquired about wheel chair that was requested but no wheel chairs was waiting for her. She was told, she would have to go to the second level to get one if she wants. As others had mentioned on their reviews it’s true no one wants to help. They were trying to find where to go and airport associates did not want to help they told my parents "they are not responsible to help, or if they miss their flight". The elevator was not working and my mother had to take the stairs she fell and injured her knee that was operated on. She is still suffering pain from this injury. I had reached out to the airport to inform them of this, and they did not care they took the side of Aicher Ambulanz basically saying that they were there with wheel chair which is not the case they are liars. Stay away from this airport. Heartless people who are very cold and not sympathetic or helpful at all. I also had bad experience with this airport and staff in the past and have not nor will I book through Munich or Germany again. Very Cold and Rude people!!!!

worst airport ever…

I will never fly in or out of this airport again. On arrival it took almost as long as the flight to get through passport control, there is absolutely no interest in helping. I've seen snails move faster.
On getting out was just as bad, not sure what happened to German efficiency but it's non existent at the airport. Is it the in-hospitality industry? It's like you are an inconvenience to them, where else would you tolerate such rudeness and arrogance. The facilities at terminal 1 are limited, you can get a nice cold, dry Wiener schnitzel semmel and a water for 14 euros. I can just see the job advert for working at the airport - "Do you hate foreign people, are you rude and arrogant. Are you lazy and uninterested in doing a good job. Can you make life difficult for people, if you can answer yes to the above then we would like to hear from you. Apply today"

I had a terrible experience in MUC

I had a terrible experience transiting at Munich Airport when flying to Canada. The staff was very rude to foreigners. When I asked about the location of the water dispenser for my child, they asked me to go to the toilet to drink hand-washing water. Later I found the water fountain by myself. When I asked about the location of the sleeping cabin, they told me to shut up before I finished speaking. At the same time, the Lufthansa airport service center also had a very bad attitude. They were basically too lazy to say a word to you, even polite words like hello or goodbye.

Third year in a row of shocking service…

Third year in a row of shocking service at Terminal 1 (BA)
Security laughably bad 45 minutes to get trough, incompatance must be on the job description.
If one person sets of the scanner the line is stopped even if the subject is taken to one side.
Passport control !! the staff go on a break before relief is supplied. with queuing up the escalators.
Germany efficiency is a thing of the passed.
I am a retired airline captain of 32 years and this is the worst airport i have flown from as a passenger and that included Heraklion (officially the worst airport in Europe.

What a bad experience

What a bad experience, and I'm so disappointed by the "German quality" that we're often told about. They couldn't even manage to transfer my luggage for the correct connection. One thing I'm sure of now: I will always ask if my luggage is on board.

I have never a known an airport without…

I have never a known an airport without a working internet connection before.

And I don't think that the border guards should be processing non-EU travellers in the EU line because that then means that EU citizens have to wait for large families with non-EU passports to be processed, when EU citizens are not supposed to wait at all. That's the whole purpose of the EU, quick and easy access at the border. So, please, keep it that way.

I have walking disabilities and booked assistance. Munich offered Nothing!

I have walking disabilities and needed assistance to get from gate A05 to gate H40, so booked wheelchair assistance, confirmed by email from them. Nothing was provided on landing to get me from Terminal A05 to H40, not a short distance!
The Airport staff were rude and unhelpful and just ignored the problem, the moving walkways were all broken or had stickers on saying so, and had been since we arrived the week before. Signs said our flight was boarding in 10 minutes and when we got there 20 minutes later it wasn’t, yet the notice boards were not updating. Lufthansa then sent us to another desk to have passports checked and get a sticker on each passport. Overall the Airport is not the one we used several times before, it seems there is priority given to shopping as opposed to getting passengers from A to B efficiently! Next I will book through Frankfurt if I have to change flights!

This is such a dump of an airport that…

This is such a dump of an airport that feels like it has no plan. They need to tear it down and start over. You drop your bags and then have to walk outside the airport to get to another building. Security lines are all overflowing and crowded with dated equipment. Passport control is a 1km maze of a walk up and down levels. This airport is really an embarrassment to the country.

Worst airport I have ever flight

Worst airport I have ever flight. Everyone is so rude and impolite (quite common in Germany), airport is dirty with shitty services. My experience in the security controls was horrible. The staff was unexpectedly rude, started throwing my staff ( Mac, glasses and phone) in the security bucket like it was garbage. I took them 20 mins to check my stuff - everything was perfectly fine - just for a 50ml perfumes hahaha. When I asked for pointing me out to a website for leaving a complaint, no answer given, DISGUSTING.RATHER FLY TO MEMMINGEM GUYS

What happened to Munich Airport??

I haven't been to Munich airport in a very long time. In my memory it was one of the nicer airports in EU, but what has happened to it?? The security line is absolute chaos, the signage is extremely confusing. The airport lounges are overcrowded and overall it is just a terrible experience.

warning to passengers with a mental…

warning to passengers with a mental and/or physical disability. My sister with Down's syndrome travelled from Canada to Romania on Oct 20-21st 2024. At the flight change over in Munich, Lufthansa staff decided to remove her (42 yrs old) and my senior parent who was travelling with her from the plane because she looked sick. She refused because her mind is really about 4yr old understanding and she was brutally, and violently handcuffed by police, dragged off the plane and punched in the nose, and restrained and forcefully taken to a hospital against her wishes and my mother's wishes. This is a serious violation of human rights and dignity. This is the police at Munich airport and Lufthansa airline. We are pursuing all avenues to reverse this damage, complaints with Ministry of transportation in Canada, Human rights commission, the airline and legal action. My sister and senior mother were left alone in a strange place without any kind of support, they didn't even deliver their baggage to the hotel .
