HALFORDS NATIONAL TYRES MCCONNECHYS EAST KILBRIDE!
Dropped my car off to the arrrotshole rd branch of Halfords and national tyres at 8.30am Monday the 14th April.
After calling the garage at 2pm for an update on a rear caliper which was sticking.
I received a call back to say that on inspection of my front brakes, (which I never asked inspection of!) that a bolt had sheared off and broke on removal and that the ball joint was damaged and broken and needs replaced along with a rear brake repair advising full discs and shoes.
On arriving at the garage to collect at end of day and discuss I was advised that now the reason for the ball joint replacement was due to the sheared bolt that broke off and I was liable to replace at my cost of £270!!!
I told them no chance as halfords were last to touch my car and torque the wheels on after a 4 tyre change earlier in year!
They would not budge and told if I want to take the car away I would have to sign a waiver form to accept the damage and the danger that the car had been left in!!
I arrived at Halfords and expressed my frustration and annoyance when I was handed my keys and left feeling disgusted and in disbelief. William was abrupt and cheeky and totally unprofessional and gave off a sense and arrogance that he could not care less!!!
I was angry and the manager asked to speak to me who in fairness was helpful and knowing that I had not signed the waiver and was about to drive my car asked me to leave the car with him again and he would call in the morning with a solution. He was fair and well mannered and tried his best to take control of the situation but it should never had got to this stage in the first place that Halfords would break a part of a car and ask the customer to pay for said part and labour then allow the customer to leave the garage with a car they broke and left in a worse state than it was before it had been in their hands!!
I cannot begin to describe my annoyance and disgust that halfords can break a car part that was in perfectly good condition and Then make the customer pay for it and if they don’t, attempt to wipe their hands of them and the car!!!
Dangerous unprofessional and downright disgusting dishonest way to treat a customer and to think I thought Halfords ek would be a good call!!!
My car in now or the ek halfords garage and I await a call back from the Branch manager with a solution to the damage they have done to my car! Which is simple!!
Fix it to the state it was in before I brought it into your garage.
Going into the third day tomo that my car has been with them leaving me with no car for work and for the kids etc!!! Still in a state of no repairs, undrivable!
Every communication I have had with this garage has been with me contacting them for updates etc, approx 5 calls today and told would get a call back and no update till 2.30pm as to parts and cost aswell as the repair cost for the damaged ball joint that they caused.
Customer complaint has been made and still no response or call from regional manager.
3rd day at the garage with numerous calls from garage adding additional work and pets that I was told don’t need replaced now needing replaced! Quote now at £790! For new brake discs and pads and shoes and a caliper and Conner telling me 2 brake calipers even though only one needed!!!
Simply put the worst experience I have ever had at a so called garage!!!
No faith left in the staff at the Halford garage what so ever so collecting my car TODAY AT 5pm with no work carried out on it to repair after 3 days of my car sitting at the garage!!!
Waste of my time and energy and the stress caused by incompetent staff and the inconvenience I have been put through!!!
Still not contact from the regional manager as of today 16th April 16.00 even though complaint has been made on the 15th April at 16.30 to cutomer services!!

As of 22nd April still no response from management or area manager!!
Downright pathetic and HALFORDS MANAGEMENT should be ashamed of themselves for not doing their job and not even having the decency to respond!!!

Bought tyres from Halfords then booked into this Halfords associated garage. Then booked to go back on the Tuesday as tyres got delivered, which a family member took car for me and they were told that I ordered the wrong size tyres so weren’t there. This was a lie as I did order the correct tyres , I have email confirmation of correct size or tyres, so they garage probably gave my tyres away then lied about it, that’s the only explanation I can think of. Tyres eventually got fitted on Wednesday after one of the men, that doesn’t usually work at that branch, called, apologised and sorted it for me. Also need my break pads changed which they quoted £250 , however another local garage quoted £150 for break pads and a full service. Really poor service from this garage, maybe good with regular customers but would avoid if using as a once off or or through Halfords.
Terrible service. Unable to fix fault despite taking £437. Leaving the car back it was put to the back of the line despite leaving it there overnight to be first in line. Then suggested ro fix problen it would require further work costing over £1000. Would strongly recommend all car owners NOT to use National Tyres at East Kilbride. Their Mechanic clearly diagnosed wrong issues leaving me substantially out of pockect with same problem to car.

This was my second time I have used National Tyres and had the exact same experience as I had the first time. I only decided to use them a second time because it was situated in East Kilbride Village beside my work and was in a convenient location. I ordered two Goodyear tyres via their online site and used the promo codes and paid for the tyres. Charged a fee for booking a slot at a peak time - however, the following day the garage was closed, apparently due to their `system` being down, so I didn`t get the slot I wanted. Went back the following day, to be told I had ordered the wrong size of tyres, wrong!! I informed them that I used their website which when I entered my car registration gave me my tyre sizes and I ordered from that. If the tyre sizes were wrong it was due to their web site incorrectly giving me the wrong information. Then I was told we`ll need to order you other tyres, which of course were some £50 more expensive then the ones I ordered and paid for, they wanted me to pay. So the good quote didn`t actually exist, they lure you in with a cheaper offer for brand tyres, then get you to pay more for them - well shady. It was `de ja vu`, the exact same thing happened to me the last time I went to National Tyres, paid for tyres only to be told wrong size, don`t have that one in stock and you`ll need to pay for a more expensive tyre. This is what is referred to as `sharp practice` and as its happened twice this is more than a coincidence, needless to say rather than be ripped off, I removed my vehicle and made a short journey to Kwik Fit and paid £50 less than National Tyres wanted. Trading Standards need to investigate this organisation and their shady practices, I would advise consumers to beware of this Company.

My car had extensive work done the previous day, including a new front suspension arm. Then took my car in for a mot to National Tyre/Halfods, East Mains Rd, East Kilbride. Told it had failed due to the bush failing on the other front suspension arm. Phoned my mechanic who stated it was 100% not needing replaced. He said to ask for a recording. Got the recording and picture, my mechanic stated that the damage was not there the day before and scoring on the arm itself indicated man made damage. Formal complaint being made. Utterly disgusting

I took my car in for a free brake check ,advised whistling noise coming from disc might be needing new brakes ,the Indian chap with beard ( manager ) advised that i come back in few hours .I go back in few hours he advised all new discs and brakes and caliper 814 pound .I did not agree with this at all could see discs ...took to d&g east Kilbride they advised 267 just needed a new caliper ....stay away from these conmen folks ...you have been warned ....

Even after my follow up emails to ask why and what is happening. I am know being ignored

I am a small business owner and booked my van in (see above) to get two new front tyres after one was damaged and needed replaced urgently.
I felt going to a business of your size it was worth paying the extra cost rather than going to a small garage. I paid by card and delayed my next day’s business by two hours to allow for the job to be completed..
I arrived at the garage 45 minutes before my appointment time and said to the only person there that I know I am early but I will be here ready whenever you can fit me in (if earlier then great!) I was then told “sorry mate got someone going home sick and I have all these tyres to put away so there is no way we can do your van today”
I explained I have a job on and pre booked and pre payed so I need this done. I again was told “there is probably no chance”.
Not very pleased I phoned around other garages and managed to get them done elsewhere at four o’clock the same day (at extra cost). This meant I lost my work for the day and was down £165 in pay. More importantly I let down a very good customer. When I complained I was promised an investigation and that is what I expected. If someone had phoned and apologised then I would have maybe accepted that as things can happen, but to be told on the 12th of October that this is taken very seriously so it has been passed on to the centre manager and reginal support manager I believed it would be sorted out. Now after over 4 weeks to not have had any contact at all and my many emails to be ignored I think is disgusting and it is a joke the way you treat your customer complaints. For me the only way to get a response is to share this on trustpilot. A company of your size should be embarrassed. It does show on your reviews that lately only the positive ones have had a response!!
Please note that all the information regarding ref numbers is supplied above! So please do not put a standard pasted response asking for them, it would be better without a response. I have also contacted head office with no reply! You need to do better in the future

Amazing branch at EK. The staff are always helpful and fit you in quickly. Lots of options of tires to fit any budget and I especially like the online service where you can book ahead at a time and date that suits you. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for tires.
Most of the user journey was fine without being amazing, but I'm frustrated that National didn't notify me of my appointment time at the centre, which is different to the 8.30 drop off time indicated online. I only found out at the garage that I could have waited till 10.15 to drop the car off.

When I arrived on the agreed time & date to have both tyres fitted, I was then informed, that the tyres had not arrived. No apologies or explanation was issued, I didn’t even receive any form of communication from National Tyres to at least prevent a wasted trip, just that we will contact you when they arrive. I found the whole experience disappointing & very poor customer service from this branch/ company.
