I had some tyres fitted at Halfords…
I had some tyres fitted at Halfords auto centre. I wanted to upgrade from the budget tyres I had on my car. On the way home my steering was vibrating so I went back the following day & they told me a weight had fallen off. They said it has been rebalanced but still the ride feels off the tyres are picking up the road surface badly. I rang customer services who have sent me around in loops with the garage. I have asked that the Bridgestone tyres on my car are removed and replaced with something else. I have been told to lodge a complaint that will take 5 to 7 days. I am going through a cancer diagnosis at the moment and this is far from helpful I am very annoyed. I am hoping someone at Halfords sees this review and reaches out to get this sorted. Very poor.
I purchased tyres via Halfords website…
I purchased tyres via Halfords website to be fitted at the Newark Autocentre on the 14th March. These tyres subsequently were not delivered to the autocentre due to an error in Halfords IT systems. Halfords failed to supply the goods and service purchased on the date of the booking and have refused to compensate despite failing to deliver on goods purchased
Let down twice…
twice i have been let down on a class 7 MOT .
These are difficult to get in my hometown of Bath so a proper stitch up .

Oldbury Halfords, exemplary staff
I recently went into the Halford Auto centre at Oldbury to get a Nextbase drive cam hard wired into our new car. On arrival the staff at the pay desk informed me that there would be an hour and a half wait. However within a few minutes after checking with the man whose job it was to fit these, he said that he could fit it straight away.
He advised me that it would take up to an hour to complete the job. When we came back within the hour the job was all done and there was no evidence of any mess and the cables were well hidden. A neat and tidy job, and the offer to call back any time if there were any problems made the whole experience very pleasant. Top job, friendly and helpful staff what more can you ask for. Thank you Halfords.
Great team at Haverfordwest!
Great team upstairs at the Haverfordwest branch. I can't comment on the staff downstairs as I haven't needed their help, but there is always a friendly welcome when we step into the store.
My son and I pop in upstairs from time-to-time with scootering issues and the service we have always received is second to none. The team always go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble. There is no sales pressure, just welcoming staff on hand if you require assistance. In my opinion, that's how customer service should be. They don't always have what you need, but if they don't, they're forthcoming with what to try next. Yesterday we nipped in hoping to fix a wheel on my son's scooter, which we bought there. They don't provide the parts, (which seems odd Halfords if you're selling the scooters!) however, they found some stunt pegs, removed the inside and fixed the wheel anyway with the bolt provided. It's safe and secure and one happy boy got to go to the skate park for the afternoon. Thank you Haverfordwest! Keep doing what you're doing, because you do it well!
A car battery was fitted to replace a leisure battery.
I’m touring Scotland and my 12v wasn’t holding its charge, so I dropped into Halfords for a LEISURE BATTERY. They said they didn’t have one in stock and could order one in the next day and then weirdly found one and fitted it. I said I was surprised it had stop/start technology and feel utterly conned.
I’m now £190 down and need to purchase a leisure battery. As a female I suspect they saw me coming. I’m so upset.

I needed to book in somewhere at short notice to replace my tyres for an MOT retest so Halfords was the quickest available.
Spending almost £1k on tyres and fitting you expect some level of professionalism but none was to be found at Halfords Spon End Coventry.
I’d booked in for 11:30 and arrived on time but was greeted with a man who told me he’d “just be a minute” then typed away on his computer for almost 5 minutes before addressing me. I was then informed the tyres would be done “within 1-2 hours” and “we’ll give you a call when the work is done”. At 1:00 I called them, and expecting my car to be ready, after about 5 minutes of calling their phone I finally got through to somebody who told me “we’re stacked today mate, we’ve only got one tyre guy working and he’s been doing cars all day. Your car is literally on the ramp now with all 4 wheels off so give it 2 hours and it will be done, we’ll call you”. I waited until 4:00 before ringing again. This time it took around 10 minutes before somebody answered the phone. Their response was “your car has literally just been finished, you can collect it now”.
Seems this place is full of liars to be honest. 4 hours + to change my tyres and no phone call. Why if they only had one guy doing tyres and they were “swamped” didn’t they inform me in the morning instead of insisting it would only take 1-2 hours? I’m not even bothered that it took so long, it is more the lies.

Booked an MOT online. Turned up for the appointment only to be told that the MOT equipment was broken.
Since Halford’s took over National…
Since Halford’s took over National Tyreand Tyre shopper.com they have ruined tyreshopper, the email address to contact them comes back with a message saying that this email address is no longer used, but doesn’t give a replacement address, or redirect your emails.
Tyres are constantly out of stock when the old tyreshopper always had tyres in stock that were on the website, now it doesn’t even say out of stock it won’t let you select a fitting station.
NO WAY TO TREAT LOYAL CUSTOMERS

Booked my mot with them as they were offering a big discount. Had to drive to Luton as my local branch was too busy. Booked a week before.
Battled through the awful traffic as there was a religious festival on, when I arrived at the garage was informed the tester was off sick.
No call, text to advise me of this. I'm away next week so my mot will run out while I'm abroad.

Halfords autocentre Olton
Horrible experience when getting 4 tyres changed.
Had a booking for a certain time slot but was made to wait.
Once my car was completed I noticed there was tyre residue on all four wheels and they weren't even cleaned off like local independent garages or Costco.
As soon as I drove down the road the tyre pressure montior went off and ALL 4 tyres were showing different and low pressures.
Went to the local petrol station and all 4 were mismatch and lower than what they should be, again have never had an issue like this from.indy or Costco.
Lastly, my car was left with the ignition on the whole time they did the tyres and that was for at least 50 minutes.
I do not understand why you would need the ignition on with the headlights and rear lights on too? This really pissed me off as I had a 1 week old battery in the car at the time.
I have to say though the person who served me at the front desk was nice and respectful so this is not a reflection on him at all but for the people working on my car.
Complaining to Halfords directly was a waste of time and they defended everything listed above like its absolutely normal practice.
