I ordered a tyre to be fitted on Wednesday between 8:30 and 6. My husband took the dog out and returned home at 7:55 to see the Halfords van driving off down the road. I then receive a text at 10 am saying that the 'vehicle wasnt there' and that they have rebooked me for Thursday, my car was always on the drive. I phoned them at 10 and on explaining the situation, the man on the phone said "oh for gods sake" and told me the fitter wont be coming back today. No apology or anything. I asked him if he could phone the fitter and ask him to come back but that was futile as the fitter never answered the phone! My husband has used the company twice and had a good service but this was a joke - absolutely zero customer service or apology. Wont be using them again.

Excellent service with staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend using them.

Despite me asking them not to overtighten the lock wheel nuts.
They said all good and they tighten according to manufacturers torque.
I had tyres fitted by national tyres on two of my cars wheels. One night I had a puncture on the motorway. I tried to remove the lock wheel nut on punctured tyre, I couldnt as it was too tight. I had to call the AA to undo the nut. THe engineer said it was on so tight, he couldnt remove it. Despite trying various methods and tools he had, he tried for over 1 hour. My car is 30 miles from where I live and I had to a taxi home costing £ 76
I am complaining because of the seriousness of the overtightening of the lock wheel nut that causes either shearing and / non removal of the nut. I have called National Tyres to complain gave details of my experience and she said she would speak to the centre who put the tyres on , so the could arrange an engineer to go and take / force the lock nuts off.
I still await a reply and have a car stranded 30 miles away on which the wheel cannot be removed. Poor service from their " tyre experts"

Order cancelled. Ordered tyres. Then day before fitting at home said they didn’t have a fitter. At the moment. Which indicates they only have one guy REALLY??? I said I was willing to wait till June. As it wasn’t urgent. So leave the order pending. I then get an Email saying I am being refunded. Sound like a scam to me. Or. Tyres not in stock. Or perhaps sold to cheaply. This happened before with them. A few years ago. But that time I drove 25 miles to there. Garage.
The representative I spoke to on the phone yesterday obviously ignored my request. And had a disinterested. Attitude on the phone. I can only assume I wasn’t the first to complain yesterday. I am concerned about the promised refund 9226126. If the company read this.

So far it's been terrible. Over 2 weeks ago I paid the £75 insurance excess for a replacement glass roof in a Tesla Y.
Nothing since!. I have telephoned twice and my Lease Company has escalated the case but still no communication from National.
They say they are working in getting someone uo complete the work.
They are happy to have my money but not so keen to fix my car.
I've no choice in this instance but to use them. Never again though

Wish I could give 0 stars. Booked in Sunday 17th of may driver turned up to fit the tyres but didn't have the tyres on the van. Had to rebook the following Sunday and also this was confirmed on the phone and the driver didn't turn up and with no contact. Had to phone them today and they haven't got a clue what's gone off. So waiting around for 2 weekends for nothing. Have your tyres done by National tyres/also known as Halfords if you like getting messed around by these clowns.

Had a loose stone in the brakes, they were able to see me on the same day. The two gentlemen I spoke with were very polite.

I booked an appointment for 2 tyres to be fitted, for 10.00 a.m. today. I arrived promptly only to be told that my fitting time is 10.30. I am also told to come back at 11.30.

I have had many tyres fitted over the years and never has it taken anything like an hour to fit two tyres.

If the fitting time is 30 minutes after the appointment time, why don't they tell you in the confirmation e-mail. Such poor customer service.

Update : Just returned to the place at 11:02 and they are JUST starting the job. So an hour after my booked time, they are only now starting. They have no respect for the customer whatsoever.

I dealt with Ben (Sat 23 May) he was knowledgeable and very professional. Nothing was too much trouble and his flexibility was very impressive.
More than a 5 star review for the facility, service and Ben.

So I had some reasonably cheap tyres fitted using tyre shopper website ordered online paid and had an appointment to come to this garage and have them fitted they fitted the tyres and all seemed ok the weather was really bad so couldn’t really see the rims to well and they were covered in grease or brake dust etc didn’t expect the garage to damage the alloy in the process of fitting 4 tyres anyway yes they did all 4 in fact 😡 girl behind the desk wasn’t particularly nice and think she’s now working in bishop but anyway just thought I’d post some pictures of the damage to all 4 alloys from this company to make other aware be careful letting them do anything if you care about your wheels there’s damage on every wheel around the centre bore from digging out the centre caps with a screwdriver and damage to 3 or the edges from ripping off the original weights to balance the definitely zero care was taken to do this job but as they say pay cheap pay twice and pay peanuts get monkeys totally my fault for even considering using them but I would never use this company again for anything very poor cheap enough tyres but now £400 in alloy refurb save your money using these clowns go somewhere else 👍🏻

Booked to have 2 New tyres fitted to my 2024 MG. Engineer turned up and after a couple of minutes said he had a problem couldn’t get valve caps off, so took the easy option and cut the valve off making the tpms system non functional. On closer inspection badly damaged all aoy rim. Now have a car which is technically illegal to drive. Have contacted customer service who basically not interested. I now need to replace at my cost. These people consider themselves to be Engineers. Very unhappy customer.

Used the garage on milton road west in edinburgh. Told me during service that front and back brake pads and discs needed to be replaced "urgently" (within 2 or 3 weeks) and quoted me nearly £1000 for this work to be done. Explained I was not in a possition to be able to afford this at present so would check elsewhere about costs etc. Seen another garage today who have advised that only back pads and discs needed and front currently ok. And gave me a new quote of £380 for work to be done! Not happy with halfords/national tyres. Paid nearly £300 for service only to be told extra work needed when it was needed at all. WILL NOT USE EVER AGAIN!

Used to be great, now owned by Halford's so expect the price and workmanship to reflect the change in ownership.
Took my daughters car down before I knew about the change and was quoted for a full exhaust system when it only needed a rear box.
Avoid.

Back after 18 yrs and very pleased with the service , great price via Halfords website for tyres ,just need a coffee machine.

National Tyres accepted my order, took my money and then didn't honour my appointment. I had to drive 20 mins each way for an appointment and they didn't have the tyres in stock and couldn't even be sure if or when they'd get them.

Shocking (lack of) service. No call to let me know they didn't have the tyres. I had to drive there for my appointment to find out.

Cannot even go elsewhere as they cannot refund the money for 5 working days.

Avoid them and use Kwik Fit or any other tyre fitters.

Had a quote of £1200 to change and replace my AC Compressor.

Just had it done with Fairwater garage for £439.68.

Take your time, do your homework and say NO if the price isn't right!
