Naturo, totally natural, grain free, dry dog food

This is one of the only brands of dry food my dog can tolerate, local stores stock it sporadically, therefore I order directly from Naturo Pet Food and it’s delivered to my door every six weeks. I can change my order and the frequency of the delivery at any time. They provide a great service.

Never again

I bought a tin of naturo salmon with chicken over the weekend as treat and with it stating 100% natural on the tin I thought it would a healthier alternative to her normal brand. My 2 year 9month old female labrador retriever has had foul smelling diarrhea since yesterday and has been sick a few times today.. I wish I looked at the reviews before buying this product.. she has never experienced diarrhea before in her life bless her..

My boy loves his Naturo

My boy loves his Naturo. We have tried lots of different foods and he either didn’t like them or they caused tummy issues. We have never had a problem with Naturo. It’s also a bonus that it’s sent direct to our home and I don’t have to remember to order, on subscription it arrives automatically.

Great Mini Pouches

My small Cavapoos love the mini pouches. They’re super fussy and are not fans of trays/cans of food and would often leave their food for a whole day so the pouches are great. We no longer have to worry about whether they’re going to eat or not. 😊

Often buy them as part of our weekly shop at Sainsbury’s but noticed Naturo have a website and managed to get 30% off of my order, making each pouch 50p (half the price of the Sainsbury’s one)

First attempt, rapid feeding

One of my rescue dogs is a real fusspot and would only eat cooked chicken when I first had her. Have now got her onto things like fish and cooked minced beef bnut she would onjly eat another brand of kibble, sometimes very reluctantly. However, first bow of Natura Tirkey with veg kibble, and her nose was in the bowl immediately and didn't come up for air until the bowl was empty. Tried her with the alternative kibble yesterday, and itr is still in the bowl. Guess thats a win for Naturo then. Well pleased that she ate it so quickly.

Excellent dinners say Bart and Ellie-mae, Staffies.

Bought 2 boxes at the Newark show and dogs loved it. Smells so good my husband says he could eat it, just put pid crust on it!. It looks like a home made stew. Very impressed. The girls on the stall were very nice and helpful too. Got our order next day. They prefer the sachets and trays. Not sure about the cans. Think it might be the herb gravy.

Naturo tinned dog food

Firstly I dont like the tray Naturo one bit but I can still buy the tins. Theres a reasonable selection of 'flavours' and I can buy a poultry selection. My young dod loves it and clears his plate. I bought online and customer services were very helpful re delivery. No problems. As described and reasonable price.

Our gorgeous girl

Our gorgeous girl, absolutely adores this food. She can't wait to eat it and gets so excited when I dish it up.
She looks and seems so healthy and happy since we started her on this diet.

Not a great experience

The last few orders have arrived with multiple dented cans, they are still useable but not what you should expect. The delivery always comes via dpd so it’s a pain to get the delivery unless your home all day, if you want a weekend you have to pay a £10 charge to dpd for the privilege and even then the boxes are over filled and heavy so they get bashed about

Mixed review

This review is for the effects on one of my dogs only. The other dog does not have any issues on Naturo.
I put both dogs onto Naturo based on recommendation from our dog behaviourist to feed a higher quality higher protein food than I was doing. I initially tried several brands that had good scores on "All About Dog" website. Some were enjoyed more than others. Eventually I settled on Naturo as they seemed to enjoy it ok, and this was available at the supermarket I use and was convenient for me.
It wasn't long after exclusively feeding Naturo that my elderly dog began to get poorly. I didn't initially associate this with his food, as I was convinced I was feeding the best and it was for Senior dogs and grain free etc. He began to have regular diarrhea, ate grass a lot, and began drinking and peeing excessively. I took him to the vet. blood tests and urine tests showed something was up but inconclusive as to what. Tummy scan showed no obvious issues. He continued to decline and I figured whatever it was had more to do with his age and probably coming to the end of his life. One day he was so poorly feeling and depressed that I honestly thought he was in heart failure and didn't expect him to pull through. Vet checked his heart, all ok. So then my dog just stopped eating his food. Wanting to tempt him I started makeing boiled chicken and rice, which he picked at the first day. Second day he seemed to rally and ate his food right up. I made another batch with veggies in it too, he loved it. I made a minced beef one, with rice and veg, that's going down with gusto. He seems so much happier and more well. Of course he's still old and achy, but his tummy issues are gone, solid poops and he's seeming a lot happier. Waiting for more in depth urine analysis feedback to help find out what else is going on, vet suspects Cushing's but as of today I am much less worried that he's about to peg out. Switching his food really does seem to have helped him, I just don't think Naturo agreed with him.
Like I said the other dog is fine with it, doesn't touch the sides and no health issues. I guess what I'm saying is, I've had a 50/50 result. It's not going to be the best food for every dog.

Much cheaper to buy elsewhere

Took 5 days for them to ship the order, not including weekend. After receiving order I realised it was much cheaper to buy from other pet shops. £1.50 a tray on naturo website whereas it's £1 elsewhere.

Edit: I have since changed foods and my dog no longer has bright orange poos or cronic anal gland issues.
