8 months after the event

8 months after the event, a response has been posted to my complaint. The confusion over the location of the vehicle is relatively unimportant, but my version was raised whilst events were fresh in my mind. The issue of an irregular mileage was of more concern, but the removal of the review was requested by the criticised party and authorised by the review site operator on the grounds that it implied malfeasance, when I had merely stated the facts and recorded the dealer's response. Many less pleasant and less verifiable reviews litter the entire Trustpilot site.If inconvenient reviews are to be removed in this way , at the behest of the advertiser, we are being sold false reassurances by the entire review scheme.

We have purchased two cars in the last…

We have purchased two cars in the last month or so for each of my daughters and the service from both Marcus & Harvey has been incredible.
No pressure, just genuinely helpful and caring guys. Great cars and amazing aftercare, free MOT for the life of the cars along with the confidence of RAC checks, warranty and competitive service pricing. Can't hesitate to recommend these guys.

I normally alway check reviews first…

I normally alway check reviews first but used these for there knowledge of classical cars. I am glad I did very friendly & knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend and go back there for services & MOT. Nice little local garage with friendly staff. Well done team .

I have used Newman & Reidy in Earls…

I have used Newman & Reidy in Earls Barton for over 15 years for my service & mot. I bought a car from them in January- had an accident and Newman & Reidy supported me throughout the whole process of my clan & getting my car repaired. Very grateful. Always friendly, professional & reassuring.

would never buy a vehicle from this…

would never buy a vehicle from this place, I purchased a BMW to which it kept having issues , I found the moto is "we have your money now we are not interested in any of your issues", when they did decide to look at my vehicle they told me there was nothing wrong with it, I then took into a BMW garage who couldn't believe that Newman & Reidy didn't notice the amount of issues that I had with the car. they are an absolute joke, miss sold the gold RAC warranty which isn't worth the paper its written on as it doesn't cover genuine parts, I was not told this at point of purchase, if I had I would not have purchased it, absolutely disgusted with this company from sales through to after care. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Great local dealership

Bought a ds cross back from James in Towcester and he was both knowledgeable and supportive through the whole experience.

No BS and no pressuring. Would hands down recommend to anyone buying a car

Bought a car from these people on the…

Bought a car from these people on the 31/01/25, engine management light came on 25/03/25, made it to local garage in limp mode, and instructed them to fix the car, sellers premise was 54 miles away, phoned and emailed this company hoping for some kind of assistance with the £750 bill under warranty, wasn't expecting them to pay all of it, no answer to emails!!

Hi Duncan,
Thank you for your review, and I'm sorry to hear you experienced this problem with the vehicle.
When you purchased the car, it came with a three-month "back to base" warranty. This meant that if you experienced any issues, we would have been given the opportunity to inspect and repair the vehicle ourselves.
From my understanding, the vehicle went into limp mode and you chose to take it to a local garage. You then authorised repairs totalling approximately £750 without first contacting us or giving us the opportunity to assess the fault. The first we became aware of the issue was when you emailed us the invoice and asked us to reimburse the cost.
At the time, we explained that had we been given the opportunity, we could almost certainly have repaired the vehicle at a significantly lower cost. As you were only around 50 miles away, we could have arranged to collect the vehicle and worked with you to resolve the problem.
I was under the impression there had been some dialogue between yourself and the salesman involved. If he failed to respond to any communication from you, then I sincerely apologise for that.
If you still have a copy of the repair invoice, please email it to me at adam@newmanandreidy.co.uk. Although I cannot promise an outcome given the circumstances, I am more than happy to review it personally and see whether there is anything I can do to help.
