Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the website, describing it as poorly managed and difficult to navigate. Customers frequently reported issues with the subscription model, noting that it often felt like a "cash grab" and that free users experienced significant limitations, such as extremely slow download speeds and forced 2FA. The overall user experience was also a major point of frustration, with many encountering problems like constant crashes, difficulty installing mods, and unexpected account lockouts. Some people were dissatisfied with the app, citing frequent crashes and unresponsiveness. Conversely, a few other people also felt that the product itself was good, with some reviewers praising the site as a reliable source for game mods and appreciating the integration with mod management tools.

Nexus Mods

Nexus Mods, a company ran by a bunch of nutjobs who think they have the moral high ground, they inhabit explicity 18+ mods, gore-ish mods, but a mod that removes pronouns, and a mod that replaces pride flags with American flags IN a videogame, those mods are where they draw the line! The double standards is crazy! 😂
And just now, they banned a marvel rivals mod that replaces captain America's head with Donald Trump's,
If you're someone who likes to make their own mods, and you're uploading this mod on their website, they won't care if it's a mod of a naked woman, a mod with explicit gore, or it it's a mod like (Fallout 4's killable children mod), but if your mod has anything to do with trump or pride flags, then consider it banned.

Oh wow this sucks

Oh wow this sucks. I bought the premium plan to mod Skryim as it promised "Install hundreds of mods with the click of a button." Well, little did I know that after that click an additional 10000 clicks were necessary, just to realize that I'm never gonna get this to work. That "dependency tab" or whatever? That thing needs stand trial for pain and suffering compensation. The amount of time that I wasted is just wow. And you'd think you'd get some help in rearranging this abstract piece of art but nope. Just download LOOT they said. So I need to download yet another software to fix another software I paid for? And that turns out to not even fix it because I now need a degree in computer science to even get the game to work?? If I could I would give 0 stars but, oh well. At least now I know. Just let this be a warning. And don't pay for this crap!!

The best modding site ever

The best modding site there is. I've been using the site for years and haven't had a game where they didn't have a lot of mods. The community is really great if you have any questions. I was a normal free user for years but have been a premium user for a good 3 months and am proud to support the site and the mods with my contribution.

greedy

3mb/s download cap unless you cough up £71 a month, shamelessly money hungry. with or without the download speed cap their servers still suck. 20 mins to download a 2gb file on 600mbps wifi connected to ethernet is braindead, meanwhile steam took me 15 minutes to download rdr2. terrible "modloader" with more errors than playing gmod while missing cs source, i would say dont use this site but unfortunately youre stuck using this garbage or not modding your games at all, as this is the only site with a decent amount of actual good quality mods. what a shame how video games have turned out. watch out, next up theyre gonna start making you pay for certain mods i bet.

Selective racism

Selective racism, mods that turns originally white characters that where depised as black back to white are banned inmediatly, while mods that change from white to black are allowed.
Stop censure.

What a hassle

What a hassle. If you can't secure your website without a 15 character password and 20 different requirements just to patch a mod for a game, then you shouldn't lock people out of their accounts after 3 attempts. Your tokens also shouldn't expire right after they hit someones email box. Waste of time.

This website just took my gmail and let me log right in. So convenient!

Woke Moderators

Sadly I used this site to download mods for almost 6 years, now that i know this guys are racists just can't keep supporting their web, you can make a mod to turn a white character to black but not in reverse, also, you can't make a "LGBT" character to straight but you can turn a straight character to make It LGBT (Judy Álvarez from CP2077), this site just turned in a woke circus and I don't wanna be part of It, see ya fkers.

Racist behavior by the platform

I just deleted my account, they are racists.
They delete mods that contain white characters and feature mods that contain black people or turn whites into black.
It's rooted in racism against whites.
I recommend to delete your account there so they can't continue to sell your data legally.

So it turns out Nexus is a Racist group…

So it turns out Nexus is a Racist group who dont like white people someone used a mod to to turn a npc white and they removed it as they were disgusted that someone used a mod to make someone white but they have been praising people for using the mod where you can turn npc and playable chars black and thats fine i find that awesome but why is it ok for 1 and not the other Nexus is a ANTI WHITE group and needs to be boycotted nexus judges people based of the colour of there skin that is disgusting and racist!

Good website. Bad morals as a business.

While I haven't really found anything wrong with the way the website works, as well as its companion Vortex, I have serious qualms with the stance that the company leadership has taken on people with opinions that don't align with them.

Material that is clearly not suitable for children (which has been appropriately filtered unless manually enabled) is a-ok, but mods that remove anything resembling opinions that Nexus does not agree with are promptly removed and the creators shunned publicly.

It is entirely Nexus Mods' right to have a stance on topics, as much as it is a consumer's right to not provide any funding for this political pandering. I hope one day to change this review to a higher rating as it is a convenient site to use, but morally I am unable to support them.
