Waste of Time and Money

I used Nolo before for advertising for Bankruptcy, we lost money TWICE.
The way it works is NOLO shares leads with other attorneys so it is first come first serve, so many times before you even call a lead, another attorney has called and set up an appointment. The sales person we signed up with made all these promises that NOLO has changed, the representative that we worked with does not work there anymore, the salesperson said there are all these leads and they don't have enough attorneys to fill them, this is the line I was given. Why I fell prey to NOLO again, I am still baffled about it.
Why NOT to Hire Nolo
1. Most of the leads are poor quality, either they are spam, picking your brain, have no intentions on hiring an attorney, want to do it themselves, make appointments and never show up, or just have no money to afford an attorney.
2. You are one of a few attorneys who receives the lead
3. When you receive spam leads, you have to be quick about getting credits, it is another accounting task and takes more time away from you generating business.
4. Read your contract NO REFUNDS, they will hold you to the contract no matter how dissatisfied you are.
5. Waste of valuable time, time calling bad leads, time emailing bad leads, time setting up appointments for bad leads and time wasted for no shows.
I looked up all the leads we received with other attorneys to see if the leads did retain a Bankruptcy Attorney and filed Bankruptcy and most did not that clearly in my opinion is a good indicator that they are mostly bad leads.
With NOLO think about it, you spent countless hours chasing down leads, some are completely bogus, most are just calling to pick your brain, very few hire you, just think of how much time you have wasted when you could put your time generating leads that are NOT SHARED.
There will be no third time for me, shame on me for even considering them a second time.

What a Blessing!!!!!!!

This is the first time I contacted Nolo by phone, although I've used their services before. Besides the absolutely best business services available to small businesses; the technical support is also the best. The ownership appears to take great care of the staff, because technical support is very helpful and I never felt like they were talking down to me. In fact, I could feel the smile through the voice. I believe the name of my technical support person is Nate. My hat is off to you Sir Nate!
For your information, my call was regarding the "Create your own Employee Handbook". Thank you folks for your excellence.

Great for LLC Process

In less than a week I was able to officially have my company incorporated as a Domestic Limited Liability Company. And for those who don't have a Registering Agent they are associated with an awesome company Corporation Service Company (I know the name sounds suspect but they've been doing this for literally over a century (since 1899). They even fill out the SS4 form (Application for Employer Identification Number) so you can mail it, but I'm likely going to do it online next week on the irs.gov site. It is still good to have though in case the government shut downs or less dramatically their site just isn't working. Ok lastly the 3 things that are the MOST helpful about this site (and I know because I compared Trademarkia and LegalZoom by physically filling out and starting the process) are (1) Each question was accompanied by detail information about what you were answering and suggestions to help you get to the next question with ease (2) the price was UNDER $400 for their premium package (this of course could change in the future so don't hold them to this forever). (3) I received a professional gold engraved business ledger/binder complete with company stamp that uses the same device as a notary public uses and has EXTENSIVE details about the next steps as well as the ongoing steps needed to keep your LLC official. So yeah I was HIGHLY impressed. And I am greatly satisfied. Thank you!

Awful

First of all, you should be wary of a "professional" company that has an email ID in all lower case letters...and no personalized name....just the company name.

Second, they decided to share internal company emails (emails a customer should NEVER be privy to) with the customer referring to the customer as 'this guy'.....

Good thing though was they gave me my money back

Very unprofessional!

After being charged for services on a monthly basis for years, suddenly I am being charged three to four times per month. After spending over $3000.00 in promotions with the company (in the last few months) we have only gotten 3 viable leads. Customer service said that they would call me back SEVERAL times and I never got a call.
Do NOT use this company!!!!

Excellent - A one-stop shop for easy-to-complete forms

I've used Nolo extensively for a variety of law issues. Although I have my own templates, or can access them on more sophisticated law sites, I like Nolo's layout and simple step access. The only thing I've stumbled a bit with is that one must complete ALL 'blank' spaces, regardless of whether blanks are relevant to my specific case. I don't know if there is a remedy for this, but I'd love to be able to strike a line if irrelevant to what I need, if non-applicable.
Otherwise, excellent. Even this is easy to work around. I can put N/A in blanks.
Thanks for your continued, important community service!

No reservations... Nolo is great for small business owners.

I run a successful home-based independent consulting business, and manage a rental property we own. I have used Nolo's materials to decide on a business structure, file LLC paperwork, write non-disclosure and consulting agreements, hire sub-contractors, determine smart tax savings, write a lease and official letters to tenants, and more. I tell every friend, from MBA to no-formal-business experience folks, to go to Nolo Press for the best resources. I've saved so much money and time... and have never had a legal or tax issue as a result. BIG thank you to Nolo Press... I'm a HUGE fan!

Excellent products that need to be fully supported in Mac OSX.

Every product I have ever purchased from Nolo has proved exceptionally well written and concise. Products like Will Maker and others should be made compatible with Mac OSX, since that program has become so widely used throughout society. It's a segment of the market that cannot be ignored any longer and Nolo should step up their game to stay competitive.

Very worthwhile purchase.

I have been using Nolo products for a number of years and find them reliable and easy to install, configure, and run. The products are better than what I have encountered with a lot of others.

Ended up paying twice for the same product

Originally I purchased the Living trust package. after I purchased it, I went to purchase the creating a will.
When I purchased the will package it noted that the living trust package was included “free of charge”. Because I had downloaded the living trust package, there was no way to get a refund.
Also, the will package had an issue with the automatic page numbering. When I contacted the help desk, I was told that is was an Adobe issue not a Nolo problem. I had to order special software to get the documents to print correctly.
All in all, I will need to think hard before I purchase another Nolo product.

NOLO Books and Software are Winners

I recently purchased NOLO's Willmaker solution. It works great. It is easy to use and produces a full set of estate documents. It only took a matter of a few hours. And I have been able to make edits easily.

I have also used NOLO books on divorce, corporations, and patents, going back almost 10 years. I found them all to be very helpful. The online resources are equally good. I recommend NOLO to anyone who is looking for good legal information.
