An excellent experience

From my first inquiry my experience with Nordorthopaedics has been excellent. The website provides useful videos about my operation (Total Knee Replacement) and pre-op exercises. The Customer Service Representatives were very helpful and efficient in organising my trip and telling me exactly what I needed to do. Once I had made the booking and bought my flights they sorted out the hotel and arranged all the transport between the airport, hotel and clinics. After successful pre-op tests I was taken to the Nord hospital the next day for the operation. I met the anaesthetist and then the surgeon, and then I was sedated before the epidural was given. Then I awoke to very kind and attentive nursing staff. If I needed anything, I just had to press the button. My physio started immediately whilst in the hospital. After two nights and a follow-up with the surgeon I was taken back to my hotel, with a package of drugs, bruise gel and ice packs provided. If I needed anything else (eg a sleeping pill) I just had to ask at my physio clinic. I had opted for the 7 days of physio and it was really excellent - I was walking small distances unaided by day 7. I left with detailed instructions to continue my physio at home. I stayed at Hotel Kaunas, (with a special discount) which provides an excellent breakfast and is conveniently located amongst good restaurants. The hotel staff were very helpful in freezing my ice packs. And the hotel is right next door to the most wonderful cake shop…. After day 7 my transport picked me and my husband up very early in the morning and took us back to the airport. I had booked Special Assistance via Ryanair and that all worked well. I definitely made the right decision in choosing Nordorthopaedics- not only is it half the price of the operation in Scotland, but they offer excellent service and expertise and of course the physio, which was superb. My husband is having the same operation at Nord early next year.

Nordorthopaedics Clinic

I have just returned from the Nordorthopaedics Clinic having had foot surgery. Unfortunately the waiting time in Wales was about 2 years and treble the price if I had gone private. I contacted them after reading their reviews and from that moment a delightful lady called Emilija was in constant contact with me. Everything was put in place immediately. They booked the accommodation and the communication, care and compassion was second to none. They pick you up from the airport and take you to the accommodation and to and from the clinic. Always on time and polite and helpful. Seeing people who have been there and come back again is a testament to how good thet are. The aftercare is exceptional and you can contact them anytime for any future help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Very fast process from initial enquiry. Communication was excellent and prompt. Transfers from airport and to and from clinic on time. The medical process of my Total Hip Replacement was better than expected . I recovered really well and much faster than expected. The physio was really beneficial. The whole experience was first class. The clinic was spotless . I would highly recommend Nordorthopaedic Clinic.

I made the decision to contact…

My name is Hugh Forrest. I made the decision to contact nordorthpaedics for surgery after it taking a year to see nhs surgeon to be told on the 24th April that surgery would be a year to 18 months. I immediately made my mind up to go private. I was fortunate that having done my research I made contact with an ex nurse locally who had been for a total hip replacement who after her experience passed on alot of useful information to me (very grateful)made my mind up to go and within 2 weeks I had a date to go for the surgery on the 7th may .home after 5 days of physio now in recovery mode .the clinic itself was pristine. The receptionists were excellent and very helpful. The surgeon prof Sarunas an absolute gentleman who put me at ease.as did all the staff.5 day physio program enough to get me prepared for my fight home .big thankyou to prof Laimonas.(physio).and his team .if I needed my other hip done I wouldn't hesitate to go again.

An amazing service

An amazing service, I am a 25year old man who had torn my ACL. The service they provided was outstanding. Quick responses on emails, organised everything whilst I was there( travel, accommodation, tablets, physio). The doctors was fantastic provided me with information about what to do after my surgery. The nurses couldn’t do more to help me bring me tablets when I needed, ice packs and was so friendly. I would 100% recommend nord to anyone who is thinking about getting an operation done.

Wholly Professional Service, Definitely Recommended

From my first email enquiry to my actual surgery, the service was absolutely first class. Drivers arrived to do pick up and transfers and texted with times, they were never late. The clinic staff arranged all the paperwork and subsequent visits for dressing changes. The medical team did excellent work. Fellow patients came from as far as western Canada as well as the UK, I didn't hear a word of criticism from anyone. I chose one of the suggested hotels (Kaunas Hotel), and again, this provided an excellent service.

A fabulous, confident experience

From the 1st contact I made to the last transfer from hotel back to the airport, everything was completely seamless. I was very impressed with the entire team, from the drivers to the receptionists, nurses, surgeon, physios. We were treated with respect and care every step of the way, the actual operation went very well and the after care was 2nd to none. We then all moved over to physio where Laimonas and his team guided us onto our feet and into recovery, with physio sessions daily to support us. I am now 9 days out and walking without aids or pain, , which is fabulous. I really cannot fault the whole processs. I would recommend in a heartbeat.

Highly recommended

Whilst despairing of NHS to deliver my desperately needed Knee Replacement and having conducted significant research into clinics outside of the UK. I selected Nordorthopaedics based on the overwhelming positive reviews across all platforms. From the 1st e-mail contact through to my flight home post surgery their level of service and professionalism has been outstanding all whilst delivered at a cost significantly below private providers in the UK. Every part of the process was clearly explained & communicated, and all queries dealt with promptly. The Clinic and Physio facilities are world class and the best recommendation I could give is that having been to have my Right Knee replaced I plan to revisit in 3 months to have my Left Knee replaced.

54 and loving my new hip from Nordorthopaedics

What a great journey, although I was going for a new hip at 54 I knew it was something I was going to embrace, after a year of pain lots of research, Nord was the place to go, with amazing reviews, lots of word and mouth from people I knew, it was a no brainier, professionalism from pre op to post op, staff and surgeons, always felt in safe hands, rehab was 100% and so important in getting stronger, my advice to anyone is … if your in pain and have no quality of life take that step, our nhs is in such a state atm it’s up to us to look after ourselves, as awful as it sounds they don’t care about us x

No hesitation in recommending Nordorthopaedics for joint surgery

It's a huge decision to have surgery, let alone in a country that you've never visited and by a company that you have only recently become aware of. I was lucky because I knew somebody who had two total knee replacements at Nordorthopaedics, two years ago, and was 100% happy with the treatments. The professionalism of the Nord team is astounding. Admin, x-ray, surgery, physio, nursing, drivers - all working together to give you the best possible outcome. I have never felt so much trust.
I am totally convinced that the treatment that I had for a total knee replacement and the incredibly supportive follow-up was far superior to anything I could have found in the UK, NHS or private. And I got to choose the date - which was only 4 weeks after contacting Nord.
Nice bonus was that I got to know Kaunas a little bit - what a smart, clean, beautiful and friendly city it is.

ACL Reconstruction and Meniscus Repair

Just got back to Scotland after a week in Kaunas at Nord orthopaedics for ACL reconstruction and meniscus suturing.

I cannot recommend the clinic enough, from the information pre-surgery, logistics during the stay, consultation, surgery, hospital stay and then physio. It feels like a big decision to go abroad and I spent a lot of time researching but couldn't have made a better choice at Nord.

As soon as you arrive, speaking to other patients puts you at ease, telling you how well they've been looked after with many returning for the second time or on recommendation of their friends.

I'd had consultations in Scotland from both NHS and private surgeons, but Dr Loiba from Nord stood out by taking the time to explain the surgery and rehab clearly. A special shout-out also to Agne in the planning team who was patient with all my 100 questions in the build up!

I was nervous about travelling abroad…

I was nervous about travelling abroad for surgery, but the whole experience was excellent. The communication was very good, all of the people I dealt with both in the planning stages and when actually at the clinic were friendly, professional and efficient. My surgeon was brilliant and I honestly can't fault any part of the process.

Absolutely first class

From my initial engagement with Nord until my flight home after surgery I was extremely well cared for. All aspects of my trip were organised with complete professionalism, and I can't praise the staff highly enough. I felt well-informed and well cared for at every stage and wouldn't hesitate in recommending this company to anyone considering surgery outside of the UK.

Lesley from Swansea in South Wales UK

My name is Lesley from Swansea in South Wales and I am 71 years old. I attended the Nord Orthopaedic Clinic on 16th March 2026 for a total hip replacement. I cannot praise the service and care I received highly enough. I am not on Facebook so did not follow the Patient Support page. However I made contact with two ex patients through friends and they gave me so much information to take away my apprehension about going to the Clinic. It was amazing how many people know friends or family who have attended the Clinic once I let them know about my visit.

My initial contact in Nord was Kortryna who answered all my questions and sent me so much information about the service. She booked the Kaunas Hotel for us too! She gave me three date options for surgery and we booked our flights. The minibus was at the airport to take us to the Hotel. I was notified the previous day by WhatsApp when I was being picked up for Pre Op, surgery and each rehab physio session. The logistics team were superb.

On the day of my surgery the Surgeon, Sarunas Tarasevicius, came to see me and told me what was going to happen. He saw that I was nervous and told me not to worry and they would give me a sedative to walk me to the theatre. The Anaesthetist also came to let me know about the epidural. Once there everything went smoothly. The only shock I had was the ice cold spray on my lower back for the epidural. The next thing I knew was someone asking me how I was feeling and I said ‘very sleepy’. Everything was over and I was transferred to my bed and taken back to my room for recovery. That evening once the feeling had come back into my feet the nurse provided a steady and I was standing with full weight on my surgery leg! The nurses on the wards were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. You chose your food each day. The physiotherapist came with crutches and guided me how to use them including walking up and down stairs. I shared the room with a lady from Tonyrefail and we had a good laugh. She was in the same hotel and our husbands went out together for food in the evening.

On day of discharge from the Clinic we started our physio rehab with Professor Laimonas Siupsinskas and were taken back to the hotel with all the medication we needed, the afternoon exercises and the all important ice pack, which the Hotel Reception manages for you. You must never be in pain or have other problems. Ring the emergency number on your name tag and they will help you.

Another big plus of my whole experience was the friends we made when we went to physio together and occasionally went out for meals together. You can’t put a price on this.

I recommend anyone to learn more about the Nord Orthopaedic Clinic and make the decision to have their surgery there. Their website is excellent. I was looked after from the day of arrival to the day we were driven to the airport for our flight home. Exceptional care was provided by a wonderful Surgeon, Anaesthetist, Physiotherapist and Team and of course the Nursing and wider medical team. Thoroughly recommend staying in the Kaunas Hotel and get your Customer Service Representative to book it for you.

This clinic is truly second to none

I did quite a bit of research before deciding to take my hip to Lithuania, and I know that some people didn't at all like the idea of my going. I certainly proved them wrong because my experience, from start to finish, could not have been better. I was taken care of so well, and the physio was amazing. In fact, I was quite sad to be coming home, and will have no hesitation in returning for more surgery should the need arise.

Left Hip Replacement for my 70th

I had my left hip replacement 12 weeks ago and the standard of care and attention to details was excellent from start to finish. I opted to stay at Hotel Kaunas which was booked for me by Nord. I stayed for two nights after arriving and being picked up at the airport on Sunday night / pre op on the Monday then operation on the Tuesday. I had two nights in the clinic and after a physio session we were taken back to the hotel. Each afternoon we were sent a WhatsApp message giving us our physio time and were picked up and brought back. I opted for 8 days physio and was glad I did as I was well on my way to recovery and in the way of exercising when I returned. I have followed the programme that we were given and have rejoined my local gym and continuing to use the exercise bike and machines as well as walking (weather permitting) I met a great group of people who had come from all parts of UK, Ireland and Canada to have knee and hip surgery and if my other hip needs replaced I will certainly consider going back to Kaunas again - hopefully in the summer as I was there in January and temperatures were always minus with snow - although it was very pretty !
