The worst bank ever, refuse to open Konto, refuse to speak English, refuse to explain

The worst bank ever. I wanted to open a Konto to receive the Kindergeld for my baby, and they refused without any reasons and explanations. We were 3 times at the post office to make a Postident, I had to wait in line with the baby on my hands, just to receive the refuse from the bank with no reasons after that. Shame!
After the Google reply I received here I wrote directly to the service. And that is what they answered: "Unfortunately we are not able to answer your English e-mail. Please contact us again in German." Really?? I lived in many European countries, like Norway, Switzerland, Italy, and some others, and used to open bank accounts there, but I have never met such a discriminative answer from a bank. If you are in Europe, the place united many countries, how can you refuse to speak in English?? Shame, shame, shame!! Aber egal, ich antworte auf Deutsch. Und.... No answer from the bank. Silent. So, looks like Norisbank supports racial discrimination. And it would be good to write an article about this bank.

as others have written they are rude

as others have written they are rude, disorganized and unpredictable. If you expect any customer service at all you will be highly disappointed. I got none.

My friend , against my advice:), went through process of applying for an account and they told him all was ok and to do the Posident at post ofiice. He did everything and then got a letter that they couldnt open the account. Very rude and no reason given. Yet he has accounts at the major German banks and Noris could Noris not give a reason.
anyway,, let potential customers beware

Not A Good Experience

I sadly have to agree with the general consensus. My experience with Noris Bank hasn't been stellar. Everything was going fine and I have a checking and credit card account. Out of the blue, they increased my overdraft from 500 euros to 2500, without me asking. They sent me a letter telling me they had approved my request, which is funny since I never request an overdraft increase. They then proceeded to close my credit card account and again a couple of letters followed, one telling me they were cancelling it and another one telling me they couldn't approve my application for a credit card, an application that had been approved three months earlier and I had been using the card since.

I am not sure what the issue is, but there is clearly an issue with their customer service or their internal communication is not great.

In any case, I do now understand all the complaints. I guess I should have taken them more seriously when I applied for an account with Noris Bank and saw all those bad reviews.

No doubt why I see a lot of people …

No doubt why I see a lot of people gives very bad rating to this bank and I agree that this bank deserves it. I thought I was treated badly because I am foreigner in Germany. Obviously, this is not the reason since a lot of Germans are sharing the truth how horrible Noris bank is here.

I am about to quit this bank after they did mislead me to believe I could use my bank card in my country with reasonable exchange rate without fees. It turned to be such a rip off and charged fees to me twice !!??

I called directly from my country to question why in case there was a mistake since I withdrew a lot of money to spend my salary that I made in Germany for my family in my country during holidays.

The staff on the phone said it's their policy. They can change whenever they want ?? wow I meant of course you could but after I became the bank customer for a month??? Whatever!

Obviously, wrong and rude. How could non educated people work at the bank to cause trouble to people and their savings. Be careful, everyone.

Not realistic and rude

As a foreigner living in Germany, I travelled and of course I lived in my own country before. I have never experienced any banks can lie and can be rude like Noris bank.

Their advertisement tells people how we can get a bank card to withdraw our money outside of Germany without fee. I checked their offer and details first and I saw that they stated they used Mastercard currency exchange rate to guaruntee the rate.

I applied. When I withdrew outside of Germany, the rate was horrible and took advantage of me a lot. I checked and compared its rate with Mastercard exchange rate. It was not even close. When I called to ask them, they said it's their bank and their policy, they can quote how much rate they want. Seriously??? This is considered stealing ! The guy on the phone was not even polite.

They also took advantage of me with using their credit card on website. I bought stuff from the store that located in Germany. Noris charged me additionally for international fee. When I contacted them quickly and provided related prove via email. They gave me very hard time by telling me that they accepted only mail (paper mail, letter and everything from 1970)
