Waste of time

Waste of time . Part of children's services who don't practise what they preach. My 9 year old son is getting beaten by his grandma and mother and they think it's acceptable!!

Agressive fundraising tactics

Their fundraising tactics are just awful. I had one of their fundraisers, a young girl knock at my door just before 9pm last Friday night. She was overly friendly, hyper and just in my face blurting out her memorised speel. I told her I wasn't interested, but she just kept talking and talking. It's invasive and an aggressive way to try to raise money. In the past, I would never donate to charities who accost people on the street and now they're starting to do it in the home. I emailed the charity to complain and just received a standard reply - in it they suggested I put a sign up saying 'no callers' and to make sure it's well lit so people can see it in the dark - how about just don't harass people in their homes?!

Wouldn't aid me in neglect/ abuse case

Wouldn't aid me in neglect/ abuse case, the woman on the other end of the phone became rude so I hung up... the second time. I had to phone back because the first time i had been given a slew of numbers which were useless (one was for the crisis team which even stated that NSPCC shouldn't have given me it as they enstilled false hope when the service is for hospitalisations and not freaking mental health in regards to abuse) and after being left my whole life to deal with phisical and, now, emotional/psychological abuse, i feel like giving up entirely. (The woman told me to let her speak and that i wasnt letting her speak very condescendingly when i was in tears about the situation at home and didnt offer any help.) Im more angry that my younger siblings will continue to suffer, which was the only reason i needed help. Very upsetting experience and will never be asking them for help again.

Do not have family leave money to this…

Do not have family leave money to this charity. They have policies which undermine arrangements in the donor's will whereby long term trusted independent advisors are challenged by the legacy department when other charities are more than happy to approve donations. They do not even reply promptly - very unprofessional. Don't deserve.

terrible

terrible. Ive been abused by my parents all my life and they brushed over my investigation. I still get emotionally abused (luckily no longer physically) and my crazy mother is still not enough evidence for them to do anything about it. My friends are all scared of her but they just dumped my investigation.

How can this even be possible

I wanted to run the London Marathon 2019 as I felt this was a great cause. Paid the £100 registration fee and was told this was not a garunteed place in the marathon.

Another charity asked me to run for them so I verbally agreed although the NSPCC would of been my first choice.

Made the NSPCC aware and asked if it was possible to have the £100 fee refunded.

The response was as follows

Hi Nathan,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. We only refund the £100 registration fee if we are unable to offer you a place but as you are running for another charity then it will be treated as a donation to the NSPCC.

Thank you for your support and we wish you the best of luck with the marathon!

Best,
Ruby

Got in touch with the charity that wanted me to run for them and made them aware then emailed Ruby back to say I await her decision as to whether or not I’ve been successful in getting a place.

A Fantastic Charity

Often Charitable organisations go unnoticed, and probably don't get as much praise and feedback as they should.

I absolutely love all of the hard work that the NSPCC puts into protecting children of all ages.
