Don't get the shield

Don't get the shield. Terrible project. Wont play mkv files. Wont download apps. Gets stuck in pending. Just use a cheap computer. Way easier, less problems.

If I could give NVIDIA a 0 I would

If I could give NVIDIA a 0 I would. They are the shinning example of Corporate Greed.
Here’s what happened I purchased a brand new RTX 3090 FE from Stock X. One month later my graphics card is severely overheating, so I figured I would call Nvidia Corporation and seek some support. I mean the card is less than one month old.
There response was that they don’t warranty any graphics card that wasn’t purchased from Best Buy as far as I know Best Buy has not been selling many graphics cards in a couple of years. So basically Nvidia has no warranty on its products. That is truly shameful and self serving of NVIDIA. The Feds need to look at this and offer Nvidia victims some relief.
Shame on you NVIDIA CORPORATION
YOU ARE BEHAVING AS RUTHLESS AS VLADIMIR PUTIN.

nVidia Defective Driver Ruins Expensive GPU

The moment nVidia's software installed their driver update for my expensive graphics card, the GPU started artificating and crashed. Repair shop verified the GPU was ruined. After over 6 weeks of providing facts and evidence of many others experiencing card damage from their 511.67 driver, nVidia refused to stand behind their defective driver and told me to go elsewhere. Lousy company and fake support system.

Fake Factory Warranty?

I previously got a 3090 FE GPU and it came dead so I tried to contact Nvidia as that was the most sensible thing to do at the time. After chatting with online "support", It turned out that my dead gpu with 3 year factory warranty cannot be replaced or fixed. Apparently the situation could not be handled because I bought my GPU on StockX a "non-verified" seller. However the problem is that directly on the box it states that you receive 3 year warranty with a 30 series GPU. Does the Factory supplied warranty not apply here?

The GPUs are great and all but you…

The GPUs are great and all but you can't buy one for a reasonable price. And problem not in crypto or deficit. They know about all the problems but don't do anything. Too bad we don't have much of a choice in terms of GPU because AMD is not much better. And worse in terms of perfomance.

Despite fairly quick problem…

Despite fairly quick problem resolution, company or rather their support failed to explain that original packaging will be destroyed if product will be sent in original box. Instead "secure packaging" term was used, resulting in los of original box which now have to be sourced by myself at additional cost (around £20). This everything is within warranty period.

Company now cuts of from any actions and leave customer on their own. No response over email, nor through social media. Money spent, problem partly solved, Nvidia happy, I'm not entirely.

SCAM COMPANY

SCAM COMPANY. When I called them to get an official answer for what the company logo really means, they said they will write to my email. A few days later they sent me a link to an article on their site explaining who and how has the right to use their logo. Period. What a joke. You can fool around as long as you want JENG, but I know you are a HORUS worshipping Illuminati scumbag from taiwan, where all scumbags are from, including that one of RAZER. And your treatment of gamers is a classic capitalistic scam - creating a fraudulent shortage so you can sell a 3090 for 4 000 usd that cant even play cyberpunk maxed out at 60 fps at 4k? What a scam! I mean every flagship card they realease for 1500 - 2000 usd, they beat the crap out of it a year later when realising a new card for 500 usd but + 30 % performance. Treating buyers like that is a SCAM.

Charged me a fee for something I’ve never registered for or used; ever. My e-mail was used fraudulently and charged illegally. When I tried to reach NVIDIA. They have yet to secure an answer why I was charged for a product I never purchased or used.

Nvidia have just ruined my Shield

Nvidia have just ruined my expensive 2019 Shield TV Pro by pushing out a buggy update (Android 11). It has made the Shield operate far more slowly, it's now quite laggy, the voice search function using the remote no longer works, I can no longer use the app as a remote, it's caused issues with using USB HDDs to play media, apps such as Plex now randomly crash when they used to be stable, other apps no longer work and are now incompatible (even Nvidia's own GeFirce Now) and the AI upscaling won't always engage. Which idiot signed this update off?! Whatever you do, never, ever update your Shield. It's not worth it!

Horrible anti consumer company

Horrible anti consumer company. They pretend to care about gamers but in reality they scamming them together with scalpers and miners with overpriced products. They have overbloat their net profit margins by 300% the last couple of years. They still want to increase the MSRP officially in to miners realm MSRP because they are opportunistic scams. A company with zero ethics and loyalty for the group of people who made them who they are today. I hope Intel takes you down in the gpu market.

ANDROID 11 HAS BROKEN MY SHIELD but no nvidia help

ANDROID 11 HAS BROKEN MY SHIELD, IT STILL SOMEHOW IS ABLE TO SHOW YOU ALL GOOGLE TV ADVERTS BUT CANT STREAM YOUR LUBRARY FROM PLEX AND LOTS OF DIFFERENT APPS AND wifi and ethernet issues. its now been 4-5 days since this happened. nvidia have not given us a option to rollback to android 10 and as its their shield tv pro and as its very expensive which compared to any other streaming device is like 4-8 times the price, nvidia needed to do something. thy havent. dont suport the shield pro as nvidia isnt in any rush to suport it either. nvidia need to stop relying on google make your own ui one without adverts and one that lets users control the content they see. and dont break it with a android update. will post another review in 2-3 more days.

Can't access something I own

You cannot upgrade your drivers without being logged in. If you lose your account at all, you're f***ed.
Ever since they added the required login to update my drivers, I have been unable to login. Even with the correct credentials.

I'd say great product "overall" But it is NOT.
I cannot upgrade my drivers therefore making my graphics obsolete for a card I own.

Kind of like buying a bond. Then being told you can NEVER trade it in.

"Ah you got your moneys worth. It's 'legal', I don't give a f*** about my customers as long as I make hand over fist before I dip out on anything in future development."

Fix your s**t or lose your customer base. PERIOD.
No company is immune to their community turning against them.

geforce now, sound stutters and no refund

geforce now offers a free trial, which i tried with very bad results, so they claim you need to upgrade to get a better experience, which i did, but the result was also not acceptable. for e.g. you had constant sound stutter. a problem which a lot of users claim to have in the nvidia forum. my system and network is good enough (geforce now app confirmed it). so i used it for about an hour and asked nvidia for a simple refund which they declined. luckily i only bought for a month but still, good customer support would have just give me my few bucks back as a token of good will. in the end, streaming games is just not going to work right now.
