My account is not showing any of my upcoming bookings and is not showing my previous history either. As many restaurants charge for no shows, I am concerned that this will happen as I can’t see... See more

Received two premium rate text messages…
Received two premium rate text messages after a booking. Apparently you need to tick some obscure box to avoid this. Simple theft by open table. Should be stopped. Don't use them.
Premium rate text scam
Booked a table at a restaurant and received a text from 67368 asking me to confirm the reservation- no mention of this being a premium rate text message. Underhand and quite simply a con.
Best advice to diners, ignore the message. Best advice to restaurant owners, if you care about your customers, don’t use OpenTable.
They take your money with no warning
I booked a table with a restaurant from their website. The day before the booking, I received a text msg asking me to reply 1 to confirm the booking, which I did. Only then did I find out that I’d been charged for a premium text msg. Morally, though presumably not legally, this is theft. I would say don’t use OpenTable - but it wasn’t clear to me that I was using them, until it was too late. Avoid.
Premium Rate text charges - Beware!
I have used this service for a couple of years and have just seen that they charge a premium rate for a text they send you for confirmation of a table booking. There is nothing in this text to say that you will be charged a premium rate to respond. I will be complaining to Ofcom
Goodbye after many years
Goodbye after many years, have just seen my phone bill for sharing my booking via the app with 4 other people at £2.40 (65p per message!) and see other 15p charges for replying to confirm I will be attending at other bookings when receiving SMS from OpenTable.
App deleted after many years of using and simply hadn't spotted. I suspect a lot of others don't realise. I'm sure it's in your small print of course conveniently hidden away and keeping you above the law.
Dreadful scam Like all the previous reports we were…
Like all the previous reports we were charged for confirming a booking not originally made through open table. Avoid this company and boycott restaurants using them
Dirty text charges
As others have said dirty underhand premium text charge for confirming a booking. I will be seeking a legal way to cost them ten times as much.
Would give zero stars if I could
Would give zero stars if I could. Horrified to see the premium charges on my phone bill for unsolicited texts sent by Open Table to my phone. This is not legal. I would encourage everyone to boycott restaurants using the Open Table system and to let the restaurant know you why you are doing so.
Charged for a text to confirm booking
Charged for a text to confirm booking. No warning I would be charged. Dreadful. Very disappointed.
Premium rate SMS costs to bookers (customers)
I booked directly with restaurant rather than via OpenTable. I like many others received the Open Table SMS asking to confirm or cancel booking or to stop messages. At least my message app alerted me to the potential charge so I didn't send the message. It is an absolute liberty that Open Table try to fleece their customers customers simply to confirm or cancel bookings, let alone stop the messages. As an IT manager responsible for the booking app used at my work, i know it doesn't do the same, so if you are looking at an alternate, with good customer service, try ResDiary instead of Open Table
Fraud scam do not use!
Received call supposedly from restaurant but wasn't. Asked for £20 deposit which I gave them as they had all my booking details including free format comment. Please just Google Fraud open table and read reports. It is outrageous this company can continue. Fraudsters then called back and tried to pretend they were Amex checking up but actually were trying to get more info! Tried to use my card for £440 in argos!
Charged a text fee just to confirm a booking
Charged a text fee just to confirm a booking! What makes it more unreasonable is that it is not made clear in their text requesting you to confirm you booking that you will be charged. This relates to a booking for The Ivy. I dislike the fact that you have to provide a lot of personal information just to make a restaurant reservation via this 3rd party agent.
STAY AWAY!!!!
This has to be one of the worst companies going. They have completely ran my business into the ground. All full of promises that are broken. With UK restaurant already struggling, this company don’t offer any support but just keep on robbing you. The higher management are a joke and don’t offer any support. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! Please don’t use them and stay far away.
Proper SCAM company
Proper SCAM company. I signed up for my restaurant along with three other booking platforms. Only Opentable charged £150 a month where all other platforms are free of charge. After around three weeks, I didn’t get any single reservation from Opentable where all other platforms given descent amount of reservations. So decided to cancel the subscription and call them even before one month. The lady on the phone from Opentable confirmed me that it shouldn’t be a problem to close my account. Just today, they have sent me an invoice of nearly £1700 for early termination. I didn’t receive any reservations and I couldn’t even install the app on my phone and now they are asking me to pay £1700 for nothing. I’ve received more than 10 reservations from Fork and Quandoo where they don’t even charge any monthly fee. And Opentable didn’t give me any reservations for the same duration. Stay away from this horrible, fraudulent company. Please let me know how I can fight them back.
Wanted to post a (not very favourable)…
Wanted to post a (not very favourable) review for a VERY expensive restaurant in Santorini (£250+ for two people)… it continually stops me uploading the review …. Think it’s deliberate as the rating is so low! This is it!
Esperisma- Santorini
This location is firstly difficult to locate (bad signage) and stunning. There was a fantastic view of the visiting cruise liners, Thira lit up at night and the cable cars….
The staff were friendly enough too… but… the food was DREADFUL AND INCREDIBLY OVERPRICED …
We regularly go to a Michelin starred restaurant in the UK and know all about fantastic food …this was NOWHERE near … yet it actually cost more!
We ordered two cocktails …my partner Athena’s Mule (€18) “best part of the meal” and I asked for a margarita €14 (it was NOT like any margarita I’ve EVER tasted and I love a good margarita!)
The menu was very restricted and overpriced … for starters my partner had Spanakopita €20 (“it was fine, mainly spinach leaves”) and I chose “Giouvarlakia”€26 and it was dreadful! Seriously, I tried but could not eat it. Balls of seafood, over seasoned with overpowering herbs and drowned in a claggy creamy herb (more herbs!!!) sauce. I woke in the night feeling queasy thinking about it.
Main courses - partner chose lamb €42 - 2 very small chops on the bone, that’s it. I chose Grouper - it was again, drowning in a soup bowl of overpowering sauce (why!????) and it was overcooked!
Again, I could not eat.
Along with a bottle of quite ordinary rose (Whispering Angel €65 - massively overpriced as we have had it many times before in many locations!) the total bill ended up at €254.10
What a total and utter waste of money.
I’m being entirely honest - DO NOT BOTHER! Look at the view from the path … then walk on.
They charge you for test messages and this is not made clear
Yes, same as the rest, it's probably against the law to not make it clear that you are being charged for text messages. When companies take ownership or services like this they should be responsible as they can quickly become the custodian of the service.
A clever scam
67368 This number sent me a message asking for confirmation of a booking I had made. Fortunately my security blocked my reply as this was a reply to a premium number. Dont touch it, it is a scam.
But I would like to know how they got my details!
Disgraceful practice charging fees to reply
As others have said I was horrified that I would incur at least £1 charge to reply to confirm a booking. At least my phone warned me before I responded! However, it leaves you in a quandary as to whether the restaurant will still honour your booking if you don't reply. I am currently trying to contact the restaurant by phone but strangely there's no reply.........

I do not appreciate being charged for a premium rate text just to receive confirmation of booking. You also get charged when you request them to stop texting!!!
Won’t be using again
