I bought the Ottocast Play2Video Ultra…

I bought the Ottocast Play2Video Ultra because the advertisement claimed it was "better." While it is indeed faster, it has more bugs and issues than the Gen1 device. I contacted support for a return and refund, and it turned out I was speaking to an AI bot half the time. We agreed on a refund, and the bot asked for proof of purchase and the order number, which I provided. Then, a real support person joined the conversation, stalling the entire process by wanting me to "troubleshoot." I tried two other devices, and they work flawlessly. I don't want to waste my time troubleshooting; I just want to return the item and get my money back, but they are making even that really difficult.

Worst customer service you can get..
They've sent the parcel with Evri, which they delivered to the wrong house/adress and I even have proof ( they took the picture not me) and these ( I can't say the word) are still blaming me..then I've confirmed few times that I haven't got the parcel and they want me to write on a piece of paper and sign it ( keep in mind we're almost in 2026 and we've got a satellite milions of miles away ) and they want me to write on a piece of paper something that I've sent in writing ( e-mail) . You can't make up a joke like this..forkers

Total waste of money

Total waste of money. Does not connect to car and every attempt to try has failed. I fail to see how it has been tested on so many vehicle types that are shown in their list of compatible cars. At least it won't take much room in my garbage bin.

HORRIBLE service….

HORRIBLE service….. customer support is useless. I’ve had 2 units replaced and when send back for replacement they made me pay shipping and now newest unit isn’t working and guess what, paying to ship back for refund…… zero empathy, no refund for shipping costs, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!

Extremely disapointed with the Ottocast…

Extremely disapointed with the Ottocast Mini Cube.
Firstly it took ages to arrive.
Set up was not as easy as implied and afterwards only connected about half the time.
Now it has stopped working altogether.
I've tried all the limited suggestions from the Ottocast website and online but I cannot get it to reset so I can set it up from scratch.
Only bought this 2 months ago and now its useless.
Don't waste your money.

A total waste of money.

Be very careful. On the main web page, there is a check compatibility section. My 2017 Range Rover Sport was a "Perfect Match". However at the bottom in the very small print there is another "check compatibility" section, which reveals that only 2019 cars onwards are a "Perfect Match". Totally misleading and one of the worst examples of dishonest marketing and misleading websites I have come across. Don't bother trying to return the now useless plastic box for a refund either as they charge "35$-50$ administration fees" that will be taken from any "refund". A total waste of money.

AVOID THE CABIN CARE ADAPTER - Without Doubt The Absolute Worst Support I've Ever Received

I bought the new Cabin Care CarPlay camera, based on the fact that their website stated categorically my car was compatible. My car works with all other CarPlay adapters as it has wired CarPlay built in, but this Cabin Care adapter just does not work at all. As a result I have been emailing for over 3 weeks now trying to either get it resolved or get a refund. The support team has been the most useless, ignorant, unhelpful group of people I have ever spoken to, and that's only when it's an actual person - I would frequently get responses from an AI system that contained incorrect information, asked for details I had already provided multiple times, directly contradicted what the previous person had said, and just wasted so much of my time. I was repeatedly told that the product is not broken or faulty and it must be my car, despite me sending videos, logs, and screenshots showing that it works perfectly with several other adapters.

I had to fight to get them to send me a replacement, but then with even more AI nonsense being emailed to me and the fact that after agreeing to send a replacement they still hadn't done so a week later, I just want a full refund and to get as far away from this horrendous company as possible. It has been weeks and this is still not resolved.

Shocking service wish I’d read some of…

Shocking service wish I’d read some of these reviews before I had been stupid enough to order from them. Can’t tell you what the product is like as it’s never turned up. Keep telling them it hasn’t turn up. To start with they were responding and offered a refund but now that I’ve asked for it they have gone radio silence. I’ll have to take it up with the card company now. Terrible service.

Cheap product, broke after a few weeks, awful returns process!

Bought a Mini Cube on 09 October but didn’t receive it until two weeks later, on 23 October.

Initially the product seemed to work well minus the broken audio at times. Waze was very slow to respond compared to using via USB cable, and tweaking the settings via the web interface proved useless. There were no software updates either despite these clearly being issues with the dongle as using CarPlay via USB was absolutely fine.

Finally the day came after only 2 weeks when the product stopped working. My iPhone could see the dongle via the Bluetooth interface but the WiFi interface would not respond. I tried a different iPhone and even an iPad, neither of which had previously connected to the dongle, and both paired via Bluetooth but even after they asked me about connecting to CarPlay, there was no CarPlay displayed on the infotainment system.

So, I got in touch with Ottocast but they took longer than 24 hours to respond despite their auto response promising a resolution within 24 hours. After a 3 day wait, they tried to suggest what I could do, but all of what they suggested I had already done, and so they promised to return the product and refund me, but not before asking me to provide a full description of the problem!

After telling them I had already done that, they promised to provide returns instructions swiftly but it’s been 2 days and still no response.

I have had to file a dispute with PayPal and suggest anyone else does the same, or instead don’t bother with this company.

Play2video will NOT connect to android auto

I ordered their play2video a month ago. I have tried EVERYTHING to get it to connect to android auto, and failed. I've contacted customer support by email five times and tried on WhatsApp too, but to no avail. Please don't be stupid enough to believe that this unit will work. It's a con, with the poorest customer service imaginable.

OTTOCAST Mini Pot, Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto Adapter 2026

Device was easy to set up on my Mazda CX-5 car with an Apple iPhone once I had a user manual in the correct language. The unit was supplied with instructions in German, Italian and Spanish only. I contacted the customer support email and within 24 hours they responded with an English language version of the manual in PDF. Then the device was simple to install and worked for Google Maps first time. However I have subsequently detected a fundamental flaw in the operation of the device. When making or receiving telephone calls via Carplay the iPhone's contact lists are not available and therefore empty. I suppose this is because they are normally downloaded by the car either via cable or Bluetooth connection, neither of which is the case when using the Mini Pot device. I have requested guidance from Ottocast customer support and await a response.

Mini Cube doesn’t work in my Mercedes with Android Auto.

Having found my Mercedes CLS was apparently compatible with the Mini Cube, I bought one. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get it to work with Android Auto in my car. The phone and mini cube appear to recognise each other, but I haven’t been able to get beyond that. Ottocast customer service doesn’t appear to recognise their own Mini Cube!

Perfect product! Don’t believe everything you read

Purchased direct from their website. got confirmation email but Then didn’t get an email for a week so I became a bit anxious as to shipping times, contacted them got some generic response and then saw the reviews on here which made me panic. Normally I review things before purchasing but didn’t this time and I’m glad I didn’t cause otherwise I would’ve gone with all these misleading reviews and I wouldn’t have the awesome
Product I do now.
Which prior to this experience I thought this website was honorable with their review process .

I reached out to them again they sent shipping info week later it arrived, plugged it in, instantaneous ease of use connected and perfect baby camera. Have been using for over a week now and it’s been perfect.

Normally don’t write reviews but really feel this company is being hard done by, by fake reviews & because I used this website to make a judgment after purchase (normally before) I wanted to ensure it dosnt happen to someone else. Couldn’t recommend this product more!

In no way the premium product they suggest

This concerns an Ottocast E2 received some days ago.

Shipping time was OK, and it was delivered to my doorstep - or rather my next door neighbour's - and not to some pick-up point.

I bought it because of its ability to use Android Auto towards the cars headunit instead of Carplay.

However, it's quite a disappointment. It's slow and sluggish, and it often freezes and then it reboots.

And - the Android Auto feature which was why I bought it does not work at all. It tries repeatedly to reconnect and reboots and reboots, but never connects. Using Carplay as the protocol works fine, and using another (CarlinkIT) AI-box using Android Auto as the protocol towards my car works fine. So my car - which is running Google Automotive btw - is not the problem.

This is in no way the premium product their marketing suggest.

I'm aware when you by stuff from China it can be a bit of a lottery, so I'll take the loss and move on.

But for the rest of you: Go buy something else.

Don’t Bother Ordering

Order O133435 , think it’s been despatched on a slow boat from China! Had I known it was coming from China to the UK by snail delivery I wouldn’t have ordered. I have subsequently ordered a cheap version from AliExpress and this was delivered within a week. So far with Ottocast it’s been 2 weeks and the tracking isn’t even half way, in fact it says just left Hong Kong airport, so It’s taken 2 weeks to go from China to Hong Kong !! and their adverts say “fast shipping “ compared to what? So I can’t even say if this is a great product because I still haven’t received it. TAKE MY ADVICE AND ORDER FROM ALIEXPRESS AND GET A SAME THING WITHIN A WEEK
