One of the worst CS/order experiences…
One of the worst CS/order experiences I’ve ever had. Aside from the HUGE language barrier from them outsourcing CS calls to India, I paid for expedited processing AND shipping, and was told it would take 2-5 biz days to process + 2-5 days to deliver once shipped. What?! $50 extra for 4-10 biz day return and it wasn’t even a competitive or lower price to begin with?! After 50 min on hold between 3 diff calls to CS, I was told I’d be sent an order cancellation form via email- which was never sent. My order still hasn’t shipped, the tracking # given wasn’t valid because the label hasn’t even been created, yet they won’t allow me to cancel now. I have to wait for it to deliver and then pay for my own return shipping, when they could just cancel the order since it hasn’t even left their distribution yet. Absolute red flags on every step from this company.
The photos on the website do not always…
The photos on the website do not always match the parts. Returns are a pain.
I bought auxillary battery for my car
I bought auxillary battery for my car. The website clearly says the part description as "fit"
after I got the part and opened the bay, the original battery is about twice as big and not fitting to my car. I spoke to customer service agent, Nathan, he checked my order number and VIN, and said this is not right part. I requested return shipping label and he refused to issue that. I put right year and model and website and clearly leads to wrong product. I didn't do anything wrong about ordering the right product. It was the website that is misleading. I asked if he is the only Nathan working there, he said there are several of them, refused to give me employee ID, staying behind anonimity, mocking the customer, no desire to resolved the problem, refused to get the supervisor. He said "have a nice day" and hung up on me while I was talking without resolving the problem.I order lots of car parts online. Sometimes they send the wrong part and they usually take care of the problem. I will never buy anything from this website. They are very different from other online sellers, not a good way.
absolutely terrible company
absolutely terrible company now they sent a broken part that u cant return because they use a 3rd party company that has no phone number and cant upload what they ask for. I used them for years but now they are garbage im going to their competitor. Don't ever use parts geek
THE RETURN COST ME HALF OF THE PURCHASE…
THEY SENT ME THE WRONG PART ANDTHE RETURN COST ME HALF OF THE PURCHASE PART
Formal Complaint Regarding Intrusive Verification Process and Wrongful Order Cancellation
I am writing to formally document my experience with Parts Geek regarding Order #cs-261060***________, which has resulted in the loss of a long-time customer.
After years of doing business with Parts Geek, I placed an order on July 31 using my personal credit card for approximately $600.00 in parts, including expedited shipping.
Later that evening, I received an email requesting a copy of my driver's license and/or a bank statement or utility bill showing an address matching the billing address on my Parts Geek account. Before providing any personal information, I called your customer service department to verify that the request was legitimate. During that call, I expressed my concern that requesting these sensitive documents was unnecessarily intrusive and did little to protect customers from fraud. I also explained that the address on my driver's license does not match my current billing address.
Although I strongly disagreed with the request, I complied.
Shortly afterward, I received a second email stating that the photograph of my driver's license was unacceptable because it was "too flat" and requesting that I instead submit a video of my driver's license. Considering I had intentionally laid the license flat to provide the clearest possible image, I found this request even more unreasonable.
Nevertheless, I complied again—and this time I went far beyond what was requested. Within minutes, I submitted:
A video of my driver's license
A photograph of my U.S. passport
A bank statement showing my billing address
A photograph of the credit card used for the purchase
Every request made by Parts Geek was answered within minutes of receipt.
On the morning of August 3, I called customer service to confirm that my documentation had been received and to request that my order be released. After being placed on hold several times, I was told my documentation had been received and that I should expect a tracking number within 12 to 24 hours. I again expressed my concerns regarding the intrusive verification process.
Approximately five hours later, I received an email stating that my order had been canceled because I allegedly "did not submit" the requested information in time.
This statement is simply false. It directly contradicts both the timeline of my submissions and the information I was given by your representative earlier that same morning.
I immediately contacted customer service again and requested a supervisor. After another lengthy hold, I was informed that no supervisor was available and that one would return my call.
When a supervisor finally called approximately two hours later, he repeatedly insisted that I had failed to provide the requested documentation. I explained that I had submitted every requested document—including the requested video of my driver's license—as well as my passport, bank statement, and the credit card used for the purchase.
He then argued that my passport was somehow less acceptable than my driver's license, despite the fact that a U.S. passport is one of the highest forms of government-issued identification available. Rather than addressing the documented timeline of my submissions, the conversation became argumentative and failed to resolve the issue.
This entire experience raises serious concerns.
If a matching bank statement or utility bill is required, why request it if it is ultimately disregarded? Many people, including myself, own multiple properties, making it entirely reasonable for a driver's license address and a billing address to differ.
More importantly, requiring customers to transmit copies of driver's licenses, passports, bank statements, videos, and payment cards creates a significant privacy and identity theft risk. I am left questioning why so much sensitive personal information was collected only to have my order canceled anyway.
After years of being a loyal customer, this experience has permanently damaged my confidence in Parts Geek. I will not do business with your company again, and I will be sharing my experience with others so they can make informed purchasing decisions.
I also intend to forward this correspondence directly to CEO Jon Sinclair for review, as I believe the verification process and handling of my order deserve executive attention.
I request a written explanation addressing:
Why my order was canceled despite my prompt compliance with every verification request.
Why I was told on the morning of August 3 that my order would be released and a tracking number would be issued within 12–24 hours.
How Parts Geek stores, protects, and ultimately disposes of the highly sensitive personal information I submitted during this process.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
Adrian T
DO NOT BUY FROM GEEK PARTS
DO NOT BUY FROM GEEK PARTS! TOTAL SCAM AND THIEVES!
This company is run by a bunch of crooks. I ordered from them and they sent me the wrong parts. I called customer service, sent them back, and they sent me the wrong parts a SECOND TIME! They clearly have no idea what they are doing.
The customer service is absolutely pathetic. I spoke with multiple agents specifically Jode agent number 6007 and a supervisor by the name of Carlos agent number 3014 and none of them cared at all about helping me or fixing my issue. They were rude, unhelpful, and completely dismissed my problem.
To make matters worse, they kept my money. I never received my full refund after they messed up my order twice. They are essentially robbing customers. Do not trust this page and do not trust this company. Save your money and your sanity.
0/10 STARS. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND GEEK PARTS!
Compete SCAM!
I question how legit this company even is. I ordered a kit with the following description "2007 Chevrolet Impala Strut Assembly and Sway Bar Link Kit". When it arrived, there were no sway bar links. When I tried to contact the company, I found out they don't provide any contact information or method for contacting them. They have you go through an automated response system, and never give you the option to contact them directly. You know it is a scam when they will no assist with incorrect orders!
Overpriced Shipping
Went to order all the parts that were picked out. Found that when I go to pay for it, the shipping more than doubled the price. So, Parts Geek, where is the savings. It will be cheaper for me to go to Napa and walk away saving. Pathetic!!! Thanks for wasting my time
Disappointing
I ordered a fuel pump for my 07 Pontiac G6, I paid $125 for the pump and like $10 for shipping after taxes and all that came out I paid $145 The part came to me in two days. It was the right part, but it was not the part I needed to fix so I got a hold of parts geek about returning it, they told me I needed to buy my own shipping label because I had ordered the part and did not need it… I went to my local store and had it sent to the warehouse. I ended up having to pay $35 just to have it sent back to them.. and then it took them two weeks to even get my refund back!!!!! once I finally got my refund. They only wanted to refund me $106. They told me that they took $20 out for something about stock? They’re scam and that’s how they’re getting everybody’s money.. I didn’t buy the wrong part. I just did not need that part and for them to take almost $40 out of me for nothing on top of spending an extra $20 to send it back to the warehouse. I would much rather go to rock auto than this place.
they charge 20 percent of restocking…
they charge 20 percent of restocking fee and also i have to pay the return of the part because no longer need it
This company pushes their issues onto the customer
This company is a good choice if you live in a perfect world. Unfortunately they make mistakes often when sending orders and as you can read through reviews, they will make you trudge through hell to get a return. The customer service team is geared towards denying returns and holding the line. The company clearly has an issue with hiring employees with humanity and integrity. The odds of getting the correct part are low, the odds of getting succor for the companies slight against you, is none.
Ordered a side mirror for my Toyota…
Ordered a side mirror for my Toyota 4runner Pro. Electrical connections would not work so I returned the part. Now they are charging me a restocking fee of 20% although they stated this part would work for my vehicle. $129 charge becomes a $84 refund minus re shipping fee for return. Refund about $70. WTF i’m disputing the charges
They are very difficult to contact and i would never order from them again.
Do not buy from these people
Do not buy from these people. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever been through trying to return something. Save yourself the time and energy and buy from the dealer.
This company is terrible
This company is terrible. Ordered a compressor for my Truck and when I received it the condenser was damaged. Called Parks Geek and was told I had to use the website for returns. Had to send photo of damaged part. Then was told I had to return the compressor, or I would not get a refund. Returned the condenser, at $53.00 and compressor at $34.00 for a total of $87.00 out of my pocket. I paid $328.83 for kit and was refunded $132.40. Out $196.43 for kit and $87.00 for the returning back. A total of $283.43. Parts Geek just stole $283.43 from me. This place needs to be shut down. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THE COMPANY. THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!!
I ordered an A/C condenser for my 2007…
I ordered an A/C condenser for my 2007 Honda Civic - unfortunately, there are several different versions according to where the vehicle was manufactured (Canada, North America, or Mexico), and I ordered the wrong one. They charge a 20% “restocking” fee, and it also cost me $25 to send it back! Order from car parts.com - you can send back for free (no shipping charges on your end), and NO restocking fee. Trust me on this one.
I just threw away the brand new five…
I just threw away the brand new five lug rotors and brakes I bought for my mom's six lug Toyota truck so I haven't bought anything from you since
Do not buy from them
Do not buy from them . They send you the wrong parts and make you jump through hoops to get it returned and get a refund . Wosrt company I ever deault with in 50 years. All they are is a bunch of computers in a room buying returns and fake well known name parts . John Sinclair the owner of the company could give two shits about how long a car sits on a lift to get repaired. Never even offered a replacement part ever. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM . THEY ARE CRIMMALS?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Night mare ! order a rotor/ break kit 2012…
Order a rotor and break kit for my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, got the parts in and started to work on my truck and notice the parts are wrong .So i got on the phone and called them they sent me a RMA # to return parts back tried to get a return shipping label to ship them .So i went to go and ship the parts. The costs of shipping back was $205.I said no I am not going to pay more to ship when the parts cost me at $268 for the parts. So that made me go home and called customer service .The night mare begins. Over several days calling them several times to try to resolve issue and talk to a supervisor with no result's So they asked be a bunch of questions .I just purchase my truck,of three months. They said, I have the wrong part, because it changed in mid year, I said, what are u talking about ,they told me they can't help me. I asked for a Supervisor, but no answer, still waiting after 3 days today. All I want is exchange, that's not hard... And stopped stressing me and other customers....
First and last purchase
First and last purchase. Ordered correct part, part didn’t fit. Called their out of country call center and I have to pay 20% restock fee and pay shipping. Never again.
